4.2 Barring the handset
You can barr the handset so that no outgoing calls, non-local nor
i n t e rnational external calls can be made. From one specific hand-
set you can impose restrictions to other handsets. You can still
receive all incoming calls.
4.2.1 Barring non-local calls
Telephone numbers starting with ‘0’ will be refused.
• Press the Set button, followed by “1”.
• Enter the 4 digit base code and press “2 1”.
• Enter the numbers of the handsets you want to barr. These
numbers will be displayed.
• If you wish to undo a specific handset and you already
entered the handset number, enter the number of this specific
handset once more.
• Press the Set button to confirm this setting. Enter the same
sequence to deactivate this function.
4.2.2 Barring international calls
Telephone numbers starting with ‘00’ will be refused.
• Press the Set button, followed by “1”.
• Enter the 4 digit base code and press “2 2”.
• Enter the numbers of the handsets you want to barr. These
numbers will be displayed.
• If you wish to undo a specific handset and you already
entered the handset number, enter the number of this specific
handset once more.
• Press the Set button to confirm this setting. Enter the same
sequence to deactivate this function.
4.2.3 Barring external outgoing calls completely
• Press the Set button, followed by “1”.
• Enter the 4 digit base code and press “9”.
• The numbers of the handsets with unrestricted access
appear on the right side of the display.
• Enter the numbers of the handsets you do not want to
give access to the main telephone line.
• If you wish to undo a specific handset and you already
entered the handset number, enter the number of this
specific handset once more.
• Press the Set button to confirm this setting. Enter the
same sequence to deactivate this function.
4.3 Making a phone call via a telephone exchange
When you are connected to a PABX telephone exchange, in
most cases you have to enter a pause between the number
of the main access line and the telephone number. The Butler
550 allows you to program 2 3-digit numbers that will be
followed by a pause when dialling out.
1st number to get the main access line
• Press the Set button, followed by “1”.
• Enter the 4 digit base code and press “8 2”.
• Enter the main access line number of the PABX
(max. 3 digits).
• Press the Set button.
2nd number to get the main access line
• Press the Set button, followed by “1”.
• Enter the 4 digit base code and press “8 1”.
• Enter the main access line number of the PABX
