Warranty and Repair Policy
Your Double Vision Fast Field Charger is guaranteed against workmanship and manufacturing defects for
a period of 2 years from the original date of purchase.This warranty is limited to the original purchaser of
the charger and is not transferable.Warranty repair will not cover units that have been modified, misused,

Warranty Repairs
To receive warranty service, you must include your original dated sales receipt verifying proof-of-

Should your repair cost exceed 50% of the retail purchase cost, you will be provided with an estimate
advising you of your options.Any return freight for non-warranty repairs will be billed to the consumer.

Thank you for purchasing the Hangar 9 Double Vision DC Peak Detection Fast Field Charger.This
unique Peak Detection Charger uses the latest state-of-the-art circuitry features discriminating model-
er’s demand. One can visually monitor the charge cycle, and the charger automatically stops fast
charging when the receiver, transmitter, or both batteries are fully charged.
We suggest you read through all of the instructions before attempting to use the Double Vision Peak
Charger. By properly following these instructions, your charger will provide you with many years of
trouble-free operation.
Double Vision Peak Detection Charger Features
• LED charge-level indicators allow you to monitor the battery charge level at a glance

Supplying Power to the Charger
The Double Vision Peak Charger can be powered by connecting it to a 12V power source, such as an
automobile 12V battery, 12V DC power supply, or your powered through your field box power panel! To
supply power through your power panel, install the DC power.
DC Power: Attach the red (positive) alligator clip to the red (positive) terminal of your 12V DC power
source. Then attach the black (negative) alligator clip to the black (negative) terminal of the 12V DC
power source. Make sure that you hook up the charger to the correct polarity of the 12V-power source.
During the charge cycle, the faceplate of the charger will become warm.
Charging 4/5-Cell Receiver Batteries
The Double Vision Peak Charger comes equipped with a universal receiver plug so you can charge all
major brands of receiver batteries. It will charge 270mAh to 2800mAh 4.8 to 6-volt receiver packs. If you
are charging through the charge switch mounted in your aircraft, make sure the receiver switch is off.
To charge your 4- or 5-cell receiver battery, follow this simple procedure:
• Connect the Double Vision Peak Charger to an appropriate 12V DC power supply.
Turn on the “Power” switch located on the lower left of the faceplate. The green power lamp will
come on.
• Set the selector switch (located at the bottom right of the faceplate, directly below the LED display
for the receiver) to match the number of cells in your battery pack. Plug the universal connector into
receiver battery, either through the switch harness mounted on your airplane or directly to the pack.
(4 cell = 4.8 volt, 5 cell = 6 volts)
• Push the “Start/Charge” button to begin the charge cycle (about 800mA).
You may monitor the progress of the charge cycle by watching the LEDs climb the steps to full charge
level.When fully charged, all red LEDs will be fully on and the green LED will flash.
Note: The Double Vision has a built-in safety feature of automatically cutting off the charge cycle after
105 minutes.If you are charging a receiver apck that is rated over 1400mAh, you may have to puch the
“Charge” button again (depending on the state of your battery) if the Double Vision automatically shuts
off after 105 minutes of charging.
CAUTION: Do not use extensions with the battery charger lead.To do so can cause a false peak and
the battery may not be properly charged.
Charging Transmitter Packs
The Double Vision Peak Charger comes equipped with a universal transmitter plug so you can charge
all major brands of transmitter batteries.It will charge 500mAh to 1800mAh 9.6-volt transmitter packs.
CAUTION: Be sure your transmitter’s power switch is off.
To charge your transmitter pack, follow this simple procedure:
• Connect the Double Vision Peak Charger to an appropriate 12V DC power supply.
Turn on the ''Power'' switch located on the lower left of the faceplate. The green power lamp will
come on.
• Set the transmitter polarity switch (located at the right side of the faceplate to the proper polarity. If
you have a JR transmitter battery pack, select ''JR.'' If your transmitter is from any other manufacturer,
such as Futaba, Airtronics, or Hitec, select ''STD.''
• Never plug in the charge jack, plug in the universal TX plug adapter to the charge jack in the
transmitter.
• Push the “Start/Charge” button to begin the charge cycle (about 800mA).
You may monitor the progress of the charge cycle by watching the LEDs climb the steps to full charge
level. Full charge will have all red LEDs fully on; the green LED will flash.
NOTE: If your transmitter has a diode, push the “Start/Charge” button for approximately
10 seconds, and the normal charge cycle will begin.
IMPORTANT: If the Double Vision Peak Charger fails to charge the transmitter battery, check to make
sure you have selected the proper transmitter polarity switch position. Remember, the Double Vision
Fast Field Charger can charge both the receiver and transmitter battery packs at the same time.
Charging Glow Plug Igniter
The Double Vision Fast Field Charger has a provision for charging single-cell glow drivers.
To charge your glow plug igniter, follow this simple procedure:
• Connect the Double Vision Peak Charger to an appropriate 12V DC power supply.
Turn on the ''Power'' switch located on the lower left of the faceplate.
The green power lamp will come on.
• Connect your glow plug igniter to the receptacle marked ''Glow Charger.''
The red charge lamp will come on indicating the fast charge cycle is underway
(approximately 500mAh).Once the charge is complete, the LED will flash.
Trickle Charge
When a battery is fully charged, the charger will automatically switch to trickle charge.This will be noted
when the entire charge level indicator LED graph is on and the green 100% LED is flashing.
Re-peak
To re-peak a battery, disconnect the battery, and then reconnect it. Push the “Start” button to begin the
charge cycle.
Voltmeter Jacks
Two sets of voltmeter jacks are provided on the faceplate of the Double Vision Fast Field Charger.They
are located directly above transmitter and receiver LED displays.This allows you to determine the volt-
age level of your battery pack.Simply insert the voltmeter’s test leads into the respective positive and
negative jack to take your reading.
Changing the Fuse
The Double Vision Fast Field Charger uses a 4-amp Micro Buss fuse. If you need to replace the fuse,
unscrew the fuse cap located at the top left of the faceplate and replace the fuse. Make sure you
replace it with a fuse (HAN9504) of the same rating. Replacement fuses are available from Hangar 9.
Safety Precautions
Do not leave the battery (batteries) and charger unattended while in use.When charging, constantly
monitor the temperature of the battery pack(s). If the battery pack(s) become(s) hot to the touch, dis-
continue the charging operation immediately by disconnecting the battery pack(s). Carefully observe
connector polarities at all times. Use the ''TX Polarity'' switch in the JR position to charge JR transmitter
batteries. Place the ''TX Polarity'' switch in the ''STD'' (standard) position to charge Futaba, Airtronics,
Hitec, or any other TX battery that has its center pin positive (+). Do not allow children to charge battery
packs unless a responsible adult supervises them.
