FIRST TIME ASSEMBLY

If side discharging is desired along with mulching, install side discharge
deflector (see page 8).

Set unit on flat surface so engine is level. Remove dipstick,
wipe clean, put back in hole (but don’t screw in) and check
lubricant level.
NOTICE:
Do not use E15 or E85 fuel in this product. It is a violation
of federal law and will damage the unit and void your war-
ranty. Only use unleaded gasoline containing up to 10%
ethanol.

If rear bagging is desired instead, remove pre-installed mulching plug and
install grass catcher (see page 8).

SETTING THE BLADE HEIGHT

Set the blade height to the position best suited for your lawn (see page 8).

Add fuel (see page 10).
This is a 4-cycle engine. Do not mix fuel and lubricant
together.
OPERATING THE MOWER

Pull the start bail control toward the handle and hold. Pull the starter grip
and rope until the engine runs. (See page 10)

To use the self-propel drive, pull the drive bail toward the handle to engage
the drive transmission (see page 10).

To stop the mower, release both bails (see page 10).
