About the Product
The SensorNet/Manchester Distribution Panel
provides signal amplification for the SensorNet and
Manchester multi-point dome control
communications and has 16 secondary device
ports (two connectors per port) to accommodate
home-run dome wiring or multiple daisy-chained
connections to domes, J-boxes, or other
distribution panels.
Each of the ports has an LED that indicates data is
being received. Since Manchester communication
is simplex (one-way) communication, received data
is never present on the 16 secondary device ports;
therefore, the LEDs for ports 1, 2, and 3 will be
constantly ON with ports 4 through 16 OFF to
indicate the unit is in Manchester mode.

Note: The Noise Indicator may signal improper line
termination, line noise, packets cut short, or other
false carrier detection situations whenever a
too-short packet fragment is detected.

Rack Installation
1. Position the distribution panel in the desired
equipment rack location.
2. Using the appropriate screws, secure the
distribution panel to the equipment rack.
3. For effective surge protection, ground the
enclosure by rack mounting to a grounded rack
or with a conductor from the enclosure to
ground. Ensure metal-to-metal contact.

Notes:
(1)
Turnaround time: Normally, SW1 position 1 is
set to ‘1.’ Setting SW1 position 1 to ‘0’ might be
beneficial for some legacy domes at a short
distance.
(2)
LED functional operation test mode: To test, set
SW1 position 7 to ‘0.’ All LED indicators should
turn on, except for the noise indicator.
(3)
State machine test mode: For engineering test
only. Set SW1 position 8 to ‘1’.
Termination Switches
There are termination switches on each of the 16
secondary device ports and the two Host ports.
They are recessed so they cannot be accidentally
tripped. Set a termination switch to terminate if it is
located at the end of the line. Set the switch to not
terminate if multiple wires connect to the port. This
practice is similar to video termination rules in
which terminators are only located at the end of a
wire.
