Introduction
This manual provides practical guide‐
lines on driving and caring for your
Saab.
Although this manual describes the
most important differences between
model variants, it does not specify the
equipment or features included on in‐
dividual models.
Import and distribution of Saab auto‐
mobiles, spare parts, and accesso‐
ries are handled exclusively by Saab
Cars North America.
We recommend that you read
through the manual before taking the
car out for the first time and keep it in
the car for future reference.
To find a specific item, use the over‐
views given at the start of the manual.
A table of content is included at the
beginning of each section of the man‐
ual, and there is also a comprehen‐
sive index at the back of the manual.
The car is supplied with a Warranty
and Service Record book which con‐
tains important warranty information
and specifies regular maintenance
that is to be carried out. Also included
is an Infotainment System manual
and tire warranties.

Radiator fan, A/C system
The warning label is located in the en‐
gine compartment.
Radiator fan may start at any time.
Refrigerant at high pressure.
Do not loosen or remove the A/C sys‐
tem fittings before discharging the

C system. Improper service
methods may cause personal injury.

The A/C system complies with SAE

Battery
The warning label is located in the en‐
gine compartment.

No sparks, naked flames or smok‐

Always shield eyes. Explosive
gases can cause blindness or in‐
jury.
Keep the battery out of reach of
children.
The battery contains sulfuric acid
which could cause blindness or se‐
rious burn injuries.

AIR BAGS
This warning label is located on the
front side of both sun visors.
Children can be killed or seriously
injured by the air bag.
The back seat is the safest place for
children.
Never put a rear-facing child seat in
the front.
Always use seat belts and child re‐
straints.

Xenon headlamp
The warning label is located in the en‐
gine compartment.
Contact a Saab dealer if a xenon
headlamp requires replacement.
This label is only found on cars with
xenon headlamps.
All-wheel drive cars
The warning label is located in the en‐
gine compartment.
Do not test this vehicle on a 2-wheel
dynamometer.
Changing wheels
The warning label is located under the
tailgate.
Use jack only on specified vehicle.
Safe working load 2425 lbs.
Use jack on level firm ground only.
Do not get under a vehicle that is
supported only by a jack, use vehi‐
cle support stands.

Unlocking the Vehicle
Remote Control System
Press button c to unlock the doors
and trunk. Open the doors by pulling
the handles. To open the trunk lid,
press the button under the trunk lid
molding.
Press button x; only the trunk is
unlocked and opens.

Passive Entry System
Pull the door handle to unlock the ve‐
hicle and to open the door. To open
the trunk lid, press the button under
the molding. The remote control

be twisted and must fit close against
the body. The backrest should be ad‐
justed to allow an upright driving po‐

Manual transmission
Reverse: with the vehicle stationary,
depress clutch pedal, pull up the but‐
ton on the selector lever and engage
the gear.
If the gear does not engage, set the
lever in neutral, release the clutch
pedal and depress again; then repeat
gear selection.

P = Park
R = Reverse
N = Neutral
D = Drive
Manual mode: move selector lever
from D to the left.

Parking
Always apply parking brake. Pull
switch m on the center console.
If the vehicle is on a level surface or
uphill slope, set the selector lever to
P or engage first gear before
switching off the ignition. On an up‐
hill slope, turn the front wheels
away from the curb.
If the vehicle is on a downhill slope,
set the selector lever to P or engage
first gear before switching off the ig‐
nition. Turn the front wheels to‐
wards the curb.
Lock the vehicle with button e on
the remote control. Passive entry
system: Touch the sensor field of
the exterior door handle of one of
the front doors to lock the vehicle.
Activate the anti-theft alarm system

Do not park the vehicle on an easily
ignitable surface. The high temper‐
ature of the exhaust system could
ignite the surface.

restricted by external influences. The
hazard warning flashers confirm op‐
eration.
