From a household AC power

Connect Ihe included AC power cable to
the AC IN socket of the unit and your
household AC outlet.
Insertion of Connector
Even when the connector is perfectly
in-
serted, depending on the type of inlet used,
the front part of Ihe connector may jut out
as shown in the drawing.
However there is no
problem
using the
unit.

Using Batteries (not included)
Insert four
R20/LR20
batteries (UM-I, not
included) in the
order
numbered as illus-
trated, and disconnect the power cable
from the AC IN socket.
n How to remove the batteries
Press numbered 4 battery toward (-) end
and lift up.

When there is excessive interference, the
automatic tuning may not function. In such

once again.

To
obtain good reception

Adjust
the antenna for good reception.
FM1/FM2:
Pull
out the telescopic antenna and adjust
its length and angle for Optimum reception.
MW:
The sensitive ferrite
core
antenna inside
the set will provide excellent MW reception
in most areas. Turn the unit in the direction
which
gives the best results since the fer-
rite core antenna is directional.
SW:
Extend the telescopic antenna fully, keep it
vertical.
How to use the earphone

Reduce the volume level. Connect the
ear-
phone to the earphone
jack.

Avoid listening for prolonged
periods
of
time to prevent hearing darnage.

Speaker is automatically
tut
off when the
earphone is connected.

MW
Once broadcast stations have been preset
into the memory, they
can
easily retrieve
any of those broadcast frequencies by
pressing memory preset channel buttons.
Up to eight
FM1,
FM2, MW and SW sta-
tions
each
can
be preset.
Automatic
memory presetting
This example
shows
how to preset FM1
stations.

FM1.
Each
time BAND is pressed.
FM1,
FM2, MW and SW will appear in turn.

low-
est frequency using ROTARY
TUNING control or tuning
