6. Installation
DANGER
Danger of injury due to cuts
caused by glass breakage, if
the windowpane is under
stress!
Only install the windowpane
so that the glass is not under
stress. If necessary, extract
the windowpane and put it
back in place so that it is not
under stress.
Important notes
Make sure there is sufficient space to the
window frame, wall or ceiling.
The degree of protection is only
guaranteed if the cables are fed through
correctly at the intended housing seal (self-
sealing grommet). Drill a circular hole into
the self-sealing grommet [11] that is
somewhat smaller than the cable diameter.
Never dismantle the external shutter.
Only mount the external shutter on a level
surface in order to guarantee the shutter
function.
Window installation (Figures A to F)
A Lay the power cable. Get an expert to
make the window cut-out [S]. Clean the
windowpane thoroughly before sticking
the external shutter on. Drill the cut-out
[S] in the case of wall / wooden panel
installation.
B Disassemble the internal part. To do
this, hold the internal housing [3] firmly at
the side and pull the connecting flange [2]
at the motor out of the cover. Remove the
terminal box cover [4].
If necessary, drill through the connecting
flange [2] at the 2 breakout points in the
case of wall / wooden panel installation.
B1 Only with wall / wooden panel installation:
Drill through the 4 breakout points [Y] at
the external shutter, with the lamella
open.
C Install the external shutter [1]. External
side of the window: Insert the bolts [5] into
the retaining eyelets in the external
shutter until they click into place (see Fig.
C1). Remove the protective foil from the
gluing points [7]. Line the external shutter
up in the window cut-out and press it
against the glass.
Outside of wall / wooden panel: Attach
the external shutter [1] to the wall or
wooden panel with suitable mounting
material.
D Install the internal part.
Internal side the window: Locate the
connecting flange [2] onto the bolts [5],
line it up and press it gently against the
glass. Tighten the locking nuts [8] with
the supplied socket spanner [9], Figs.
D1 and D2.
CAUTION
Damage, glass breakage!
Tighten the locking nuts [8]
carefully making sure not to
over-tighten them.
Inside of wall / wooden panel: If required,
attach the connecting flange [2] to the
wall or wooden panel with suitable
mounting material.

into the two housing grooves before
putting the internal housing [3] on.
– Switch the mains fuse on. Carry out a
function test.
7. Maintenance
The unit is maintenance-free.
With fans in swivel windows
Check the connection cable regularly for
signs of damage at the transfer point from
the window sash to the window frame.
If the cable is damaged, have it replaced by
a trained electrician.
8. Cleaning
DANGER
Danger to life! Unit is powered
up!
Switch the mains fuse off. Do
not flood the unit with liquid.
Hold the internal housing [3] at the bottom,
on the right and left side and pulling equally
on both sides, pull it forwards and off.
Do not pull the internal housing [3] off
by the internal grille or the upper
edge.
Clean the internal parts with a dry cloth. If
necessary, use a vacuum cleaner. Swing
the lamella upwards to clean the external
shutter.
Do not clean use any cleaning agents
that are aggressive, easily
inflammable or harmful to health.
Fit the internal housing [3] as shown in
Figure E.
Do not clean the internal housing
in a dishwasher.
9. Fault rectification
DANGER
Danger to life! Unit is powered
up!
Switch the mains fuse off. Do
not flood the unit with liquid.
A fault can occur if, for example, the
airstream temperature increases or if the fan
motor is blocked. The overload protection
kicks in and the fan switches off.
If the fan fails to operate, always check
whether the mains fuse is switched on. If
necessary, have the cabling checked by an
expert. To do this, the unit must be
completely disconnected from the power
supply.
Let the fan motor cool down. After that, the
fan switches back on automatically
(thermal switch automatically resets).
If the fault still continues or occurs again,
switch off at the main fuse and call on the
services of a trained electrician.
10. Disposal
Not in domestic waste !
The unit contains in part material that
can be recycled and in part
substances that should not end up as
domestic waste.
Dispose of the unit once it has reached the
end of its working life according to the
regulations valid where you are.
