• Wedon‘trecommendusingthekettleforheatingliquidsotherthanwater.

• Do notswitchtheuniton without water. Ifan empty kettle is turnedon,the safety fuse will deactivateit

automatically.Letthekettlecoolandfillitwithcoldwater.Youmaynowcontinueusingthekettle.

• Extracareshouldbetakenwhileopeningthelidwhenrefillingahotkettlewithwater.

• Takeprecautionsto avoidscaldingwithhotwaterwhilehandlingthekettle.Alwaysholdthekettlebythe

handle, as the vessel can be hot and may burn you.

• Pour the hot water slowly – excessive tilting may cause the water to flow through the lid – RISK OF

SCALDING!

• Donotuseabrasiveorchemicallyaggressivesubstancestocleantheunit.

• Donotusetheunitifitdoesnotoperateproperly,orifithasbeendropped,damagedorexposedtoanyliquids.

Taketheunittoanauthorisedservicecentrefortestingandrepair.

• Neverusetheapplianceifthesupplycordorplugisdamaged.Immediatelyrefertoanauthorisedservicecentre

forrepair.

• Theunitisnotdesignedforoutdooruse.

• Theapplianceisintendedfordomesticuseonly,notforcommercialuse.

• Do not immerse the power cord, plug, or appliance in water or any other liquid.

• Donotrepairtheapplianceyourself.Refertoanauthorisedservicecentreinstead.

OPERATING INSTRUCTIONS

1.Removethekettlefromthebaseandllitwithcoldwater.Donotexceed

the maximum level (Fig. 1)! If the water level in the kettle does not

reach the recommended minimum, the kettle will overheat and turn oﬀ

prematurely.

Note:Makesurethatthelidisclosedproperly.Thekettlecannotturno

automaticallyifthisisnotthecase.

2. Return the kettle to the base. The electric contacts will be connected

automatically.Thedesignofthecentreconnectorallowsyoutoturn the

kettle 360°.Thekettlecanbeputonthebasefromanyside.

3. Connect the base to the mains.

4.Turnthekettleonbypushingtheswitch.

 Operationissignalledbytheoperatinglight.Thekettlelidshouldbeclosed

properlywhenheatingwater.

5. After the boiling point has been reached, the kettle will turn o

automatically, andtheoperatinglightwillgoout.Waterheatingcanbe

terminatedprematurelybymovingtheswitchtotheoposition.

6.Removethekettlefromthebaseandusethewater.

7. If you want to reheat the water you have just nished boiling, wait

approximatelyfor30secondsbeforereactivatingtheswitch.

8.Anyimpuritiesarecaughtbythelterwhilepouring.

Note:Ifafewdropsofwaterappearatthebaseafteruse,thisisnotadefect.Itis

asmallamountofcondensedsteam,whichdeactivatesthekettlethermostat.

MAINTENANCE AND CLEANING

WARNING!

Beforecleaningtheunit,alwaysdisconnectthepowercordfromthewalloutlet!

Priortohandling,makesuretheunithascooleddown!

Thesurfaceoftheunitmayonlybecleanedusingawetcloth.Donotuseanydetergentsorhardobjects,asthey

maydamagetheunit’ssurface!

Never clean the unit under running water, do not rinse it, and do not submerge it in water!

REMOVING LIMESCALE

Impurities from waterbuild up during normal use.These sediments can be removedfromthe kettle perfectly

usingpreparationsdesignedforremovinglimescale(observetheproducer’sinstructions)orusingthefollowing

procedure:

1.Pourthreecupsofvinegarintothekettle,andllitwithwater.Leavethesolutioninthekettleovernight.Do not

boil!

2.Pouroutthecontents,andcleantheremainingsedimentusingawetcloth.Fillthekettlewithcleanwater,boil

itandpouritoutagain.Repeattheprocedure.Thekettleisthenreadyforoperation.

CAUTION

Priortorstuse,werecommendboilingthemaximumvolumeofwaterinthekettleatleast3times,thenpouringit

out.Thekettleisthenreadyforoperation.

The kettle may only be used with the supplied base.

Note: Removethesedimentinsidethekettleregularly,aboutonceaweek,dependingonthewaterhardnessand

frequencyofuse.Depositsreducetheheatingeectandlifeofthekettleconsiderably.
