[Desktop PC/Motherboard] Troubleshooting-There is no sound when you plug in audio device
on back/front audio port
Please test your earphone or speaker by connecting to other devices (PCs, phones,
etc.) to exclude the possibility that the playback device is abnormal.
If your earphone or speaker works on other devices, please follow the below steps
to test (both hardware and software) :
1. Ensure that your playback device is correctly connected to audio interface
(speaker/earphone should be connected to the green one, microphone should be connected to
the pink one)
2. Generally,desktop PC has both front audio interface (AAFP) and back rear audio
interface available to use so you need to test with different audio interface.
If you are using All-In-One PC, you need to remove earphone or speaker itself first and test
whether there is sound/music output from motherboard .
If both front/back audio port can't work, please contact ASUS Service Center for
assistance.
3. Right click at the bottom right corner of toolbar. Choose “Playback devices”.
Press “Test” for the playback device you want to use, and check whether there is test sound
playing.
4. Please update your Audio driver (More information about updating, click here)
[Desktop PC/Motherboard] Troubleshooting for irregular disconnection of Wired network
If your wired network has irregular connection, please check the items below:
1. Please make sure whether your network cable is not broken and plug is fine. Check
whether the cable is well connected to the PC and the router (not shaking and loose).
2. Please update your Ethernet Controller driver(more information about updating,
click here)
3. If your PC connects to the network through the router, please ensure the router is
operating well. You can try to reset your router, or update the firmware of the router.
4. Contact your networking service vendor to make sure your internet connection is normal.
[Motherboard] Troubleshooting for Utilities
Q1 How to download the Utilities?
A1 Please refer to How to download/update the driver and you can find Utilities at the
Download page.
Q2 Why can't I find the specific Utilities on the support page of my motherboard?
A2 If you cannot find a specific utility on the support page of your motherboard model,
it means that your motherboard does not support that specific Utilities.
Q3Where can I find utilities such as EZ Flash 3/EZ Update /Push Notice from the download
page?
A3EZ Flash 3 can be found in the BIOS. If its not listed, it means this motherboard does not
support this function.

Q4Why can't I remove the Utilities after I replace the motherboard?
A4Since ASUS Utilities are authenticated with the original motherboard, they might not be
able to be removed and will need to be reinstalled when using a non-ASUS replacement
motherboard.
If using an ASUS motherboard, please download the latest version of the software from the
ASUS Official Website. Whereas, if you're not using an ASUS motherboard, it is recommended
to reinstall the utility.
[Desktop PC] Troubleshooting for the crash in desktop
The following situation might lead to the crash in your desktop :
1. The memory fails or cannot be normally detected by the device
2. CPU overclocking (because the voltage is too low)
3. Total power consumption of hardware is greater than output power of PSU
If your desktop PC crashed (everything stops and no operation is available), please refer to the
following steps for troubleshooting
1.Make sure whether there is any abnormal noise from device. Source of noise might be broken
hard disk,damaged fan or something stuck. Please contact ASUS Service center for inquiry.
2.Abnormal working in software: Please try to uninstall software
installed and applications/drivers updated recently.
If it doesn't improve after above procedures, please backup the data and proceed the system
recovery. (System recovery in different OS please check : Windows 8/8.1Windows 10)
Attention :All the data and files will be formated after the system recovery. If you have any

3. Abnormal working in heat radiation :Please keep the air flow in the room and prevent
anything from stucking the vents

GPU Tweak II doesn't work properly after updating Microsoft Win10 security vulnerability patch
After removing the GPU Tweak II software, please go to the ASUS Official Support Site to
download latest version of GPU Tweak II listed under your product model:
How to download software:
1. Enter the ASUS Official Website.https://www.asus.com/
2. Search for the model of the product, find the service and Support pages,
3. Click and select the corresponding Windows version in sequence and download the latest
version of GPU Tweak II.

[Notebook/PC/Motherboard] Troubleshooting for no sound output of HDMI
If your HDMI is unable to output sound, or the output sound is abnormal. Please confirm that
your HDMI cable is properly connected to both devices, and refer to the following instructions:
1. Make sure your monitor has a sound source output function, such as a speaker or audio
output interface
2. Try another HDMI cable
3. Right click at the bottom right corner, choose “Playback device”.Select HDMI device
and “Set Default”, and “Disable” other devices after the right click.
4. Update your VGA driver.

[Desktop PC/Motherboard] Troubleshooting - Unable to enter the operating system
(Stuck at ASUS Logo,auto reboot during booting process,the screen displays black after entering
desktop,error message pops up)
If one of above cases occurred, please try troubleshooting according to below instruction :
1.Stuck at ASUS Logo
Step 1: Press F2/Delete to enter BIOS to load default and save settings.
Step 2: Enter BIOS and check whether HDD is identified under Main/Boot priority page.
Step 3: Update BIOS with Ezflash. (How to update BIOS with Ezflash)
Step 4: If Step 1~3 still can't fix this problem, please contact ASUS Service Center.
* If you can't enter BIOS, please contact ASUS Service Center.
2.Auto reboot during booting process/the screen displays black after entering desktop
Situation 1: Machine auto shutdown/reboot under Windows system.
Solution 1: Enter Safe mode. Remove recently installed drivers/utilities.
Situation 2: Machines auto reboot before Windows system. (ASUS logo/Windows logo)
Solution 2: Remove adapter and wait 3-5 minutes. If you still can't enter system after reboot,
please contact ASUS Service Center.
Situation 3: The screen displays black after entering desktop
Solution 3: Enter Safe mode. Remove Anti-Virus software/recently installed drivers/VGA driver.

3.Error message pops up (DISK BOOT FAILURE...)
Operating system is damaged. Please try to reset/re-install system or contact local Customer
Center for repair.
Method for System reset: Windows 8/8.1/10
Note: All the data will be deleted once system reset is done. If there's any question, please
contact ASUS Service Center.
