Congratulations on purchasing a
Convair ClimateWizard. Convair is a
world leader in climate control
solutions.
ClimateWizard addresses the
common problems associated with
heating in winter - excessive
temperature, dryness, static electricity
and dust - which can cause symptoms
such as skin irritations, allergies and
respiratory problems.
ClimateWizard adds moisture to the
air and lowers the temperature in
overheated and dry rooms.
ClimateWizard also purifies the air by
using an air filter which reduces
airborne contaminants.

Safety
When using electrical appliances
please follow these precautions to
reduce the risk of fire, electrical
shock and injury to persons.
Warning: This appliance is not
intended for use by young children or
infirm persons without supervision.
Do not use this appliance in a closed
room when only occupied by children.
Caution: Before connecting your
ClimateWizard to an electrical outlet,
check that the required voltage shown
on the rating label is the same as your
power supply.
Caution: This appliance has a
polarized plug (one blade is wider than
the other). To reduce the risk of
electric shock, this plug is intended to
fit in a polarized outlet only one way. If
the plug does not fit fully in the outlet,
reverse the plug. If it still does not fit,
contact a qualified electrician. Do not
attempt to defeat this safety feature.
To avoid accidents and fire hazards,
keep the cord out of heavy traffic
areas, never put near heat registers,
radiators or stoves. Do not use this
appliance if the plug or cord is
damaged. Caution: Do not plug in the
cord with wet hands as electric shock
may result.
This appliance is designed with a
safety feature so that if the rear panel
is removed the appliance will not
operate. Do not attempt to defeat this

Operation
1. Place the appliance in a central
position in your home or office.
2. Pour clean water into the opening
at the back of the appliance.
The maximum water capacity of the
ClimateWizard is 3.4 gallons (13

to the appliance when it is operated
without water.
3. Fill the appliance with water until
the water reaches the maximum fill
level indicated inside the tank.
Caution: Do not overfill the
appliance as water will spill on
the floor.
4. Refill the appliance with clean water
whenever the water level in the
window is low.
5. Plug the ClimateWizard into the
electrical outlet and turn the power
on.
6. Turn the moisture control knob

Maintenance
Ensure that the ClimateWizard is
switched off and the plug is removed
from the electrical outlet before any
maintenance is performed.
To clean the exterior of the appliance
use a damp cloth and mild household
detergent.
Note: The tank must be drained of
water before the appliance is stored.
At the end of each season, or more
often if heavily used, it is advisable to
carry out some simple maintenance
on your ClimateWizard. This will help
Manual
maintain its high performance. Follow
the steps below.
1. Drain the water from the appliance.
Move it to a drain and remove the
drain plug located on the bottom of
the tank. When the appliance is
empty replace the plug in the
tank.
2.
. The
filter can be vacuumed or rinsed
with water, however, to maintain
maximum performance it is
recommended that filters be
replaced rather than cleaned. For
approved filter replacements call
1-800-926-6824. To gain access to
the filter, remove the filter cartridge
by disengaging the clips at the
top and pivoting it backwards.
Clean or replace the air filter every
3 months or when required

3. To gain access to the inside of the
appliance remove the rear panel by
disengaging the clips at the top.
Pivot the rear panel backwards and
lift it off. Take care when
removing the rear panel as water
may drip from the moisturizing pad
secured to the inside of the panel.
4. Wash the moisturizing pad with a
gentle spray of water while it is still
in the rear panel. Do not use a
high pressure hose to clean the pad.
Replace the pad if salt has built-up
on the pad as it will reduce the
ClimateWizard s performance.
5. Clean the tank and the perforated
water strainer located in the tank by
using a damp cloth and mild

household detergent. Do not use
abrasive cleaners or solvents.
Remove any foreign matter. This
will ensure that the strainer does
not clog up during operation.
6. If the pump drive belt needs
replacing, remove it from the
pulleys. Ensure that the belt is
replaced in the same orientation
as shown in the diagram so that
the pump rotates in the right
direction.
7. Replace the rear panel by placing
the bottom of the rear panel in the
tank and pivoting it forward until
the clips engage.

4. Appliance causes an
unpleasant odor
5. Appliance makes
scraping or rattling
noise
6. Water overflows from
the tank
7. Damaged power
supply cord
8. Too much moisture
or room is too cool
Possible Cause
1.1 Power outlet or supply is faulty
1.2 Wrong voltage
1.3 Electrical fault
2.1 Motor has overheated (safety
cutout)
3.1 Moisture control knob is off
3.2 Tank is empty or nearly empty
3.3 Pad and/or pump is blocked or
dirty
3.4 Pump is not working properly
3.5 Pump drive belt faulty or broken
4.1 Tank or pad is dirty
4.2 Water quality is poor
5.1 Dirt has built-up in the pump
6.1 Too much water in the tank
Remedy
1.1.1 Check the power supply
1.1.2 Check the power outlet
1.2.1 Check that the power supply is the same as
that specified on the appliance s rating label
1.3.1 Electrical parts must only be repaired and replaced
by Authorised Service Agents - call Convair
technical support at 1-800-926-6824
2.1.1 Wait 30-45 minutes for the motor to cool down. It
should restart automatically. If this condition
persists, call Convair technical support at
1-800-926-6824
3.1.1 Turn the moisture control knob to on
3.2.1 Fill the tank with water until the water reaches the

3.4.1 The pump is not a separate electric pump. It is
connected to the fan and motor and is driven
mechanically. Turn the appliance off and drain the
tank completely. Refill with clean water. Switch fan
knob to high speed, turn the moisture knob to on
and run the appliance for 10-15 minutes. This will
help to flush out the dirt. The pad should now be
wet. If the pad is not wet then the pump is still
clogged. Call Convair technical support at
1-800-926-6824
3.5.1 Replace the drive belt. See Maintenance section
4.1.1 Drain the tank and refill with clean water. If

5.1.1 Clean the parts. See Maintenance section
5.1.2 Replace the drive belt. See Maintenance section
6.1.1 Drain some water out
7.1.1 If the power supply cord is damaged it should be
replaced. Call Convair technical support at
1-800-926-6824
8.1.1 Reduce the fan speed and/or turn the water off.
