Safety Alert Symbol and Signal Words

The safety alert symbol is used to identify safety

information about hazards that can result in personal injury.

A signal word (DANGER, WARNING, or CAUTION) is used

with the alert symbol to indicate the likelihood and potential

severity of injury. In addition, a hazard symbol may be used

to represent the type of hazard.

• If you must work around a unit while it is operating,

stand on an insulated dry surface to reduce the risk of a

shock hazard.

• DO NOT allow unqualified persons or children to operate

or service generator.

• In case of an accident caused by electrical shock,

immediately shut down the source of electrical power and

contact the local authorities. Avoid direct contact with the

victim.

• Despite the safe design of the generator, operating this

equipment imprudently, neglecting its maintenance, or

being careless could cause possible injury or death.

• Remain alert at all times while working on this equipment.

Never work on the equipment when you are physically or

mentally fatigued.

• Before performing any maintenance on the generator, first

disconnect the battery cable indicated by a NEGATIVE,

NEG, or (-). When finished, reconnect that cable last.

• After your system is installed, the generator may crank

and start without warning any time there is a power

failure. BEFORE working on the equipment, and to

prevent possible injury, always set the generator system

switch to OFF, remove the service disconnect fuse from

the disconnect box, and remove the 15 Amp fuse.

CAUTION

Installing the 15 Amp fuse could cause

the engine to start at any time without warning,

resulting in minor or moderate injury.

• Observe that the 15 Amp fuse has been removed from the

control panel before servicing.

• DO NOT install this fuse until all wiring has been

completed and inspected.

When installed according to these instructions, the

monitoring device will provide years of dependable service.

Keep your purchase receipt with this instruction sheet and

store with your other generator manuals after installation.

IMPORTANT: Illustrations used in this document are for

reference and may not represent the actual unit being

serviced. Your installation will be similar.

Before starting the installation, refer to Suggested infohub™

Installation Locations at the end of these instructions to

identify your particular type of generator. The preferred

mounting locations for the interface board (E) and the

cellular unit (G) will be shown in those illustrations.

Disconnect Power

Before performing any installation, maintenance, or service

on the generator, ALWAYS perform the following steps:

1. Set generator system switch to OFF.

2. Set generator circuit breaker to OFF.

3. Remove 15 Amp fuse from control panel.

4. Utility voltage is present at generator control

panel. Remove the fuses from the transfer switch to

disconnect power before servicing the control panel.

5. Disconnect negative battery cable from negative battery

terminal, indicated by NEGATIVE, NEG, or (-).

NOTICE: Only existing wire harness holes should be used to

route the infohub harness to the generator controller. Except

for the antenna cable hole, it is not necessary to drill other

access holes.

Drill Hole for Antenna Cable

1. Refer to Suggested infohub™ Installation Locations at

the end of these instructions to determine the mounting

location for the cellular unit.

2. Using a 3/8 inch bit, drill a hole into the enclosure near the

intended location of the cellular unit so that the antenna

cable will reach the unit (Figure 1). The hole should

be placed near the roof but not so close as to cause

interference when the roof is fully opened.

3. After drilling the hole, remove any burrs and metal

shavings from the enclosure to prevent rusting.

4. Apply a small amount of rust inhibitor to the inside and

outside of the hole edges and allow to dry.

Mount Antenna to Roof

1. Locate the supplied rubber grommet in the kit.

2. Carefully cut one side to the center of the rubber

grommet. Do not cut in half.

3. When the rust inhibitor is dry on the antenna cable

hole, slip the rubber grommet over the antenna cable,

feed the antenna wire through the hole, and fit the

grommet into the hole.

4A. Mount the magnetic antenna on the generator roof.

4B. For units with plastic roofs, use the supplied metal

bracket, machine screw, washer, and nut.

• Find a suitable location on the roof. This location

should be near the antenna cable hole.

• Using a drill with 3/16 inch bit and the center hole of

the bracket for reference, drill through the plastic roof.

• Attach the bracket and hardware at the hole.

• Attach the antenna to the top of the bracket as shown

(Figure 2).

WARNING Shock Hazard. Hazardous voltage from utility

service or generator could cause death or serious

injury.

Remove all sources of supply voltage and

follow all disconnect power instructions prior

to performing any service work. Verify with a

meter that utility power has been disconnected.

5. On the outside of the enclosure, loop and secure the

antenna cable with a wire tie (Figure 3) to help prevent

water from entering the unit.

6. Route the antenna cable toward the intended mounting

location of the cellular unit.

Disconnect Generator Wire Harness

Verify power is disconnected to the unit before proceeding.

1. Remove the screws and the control box front to access

the control panel. The generator will have either of two

panels (Figure 4A or 4B).

2. Remove the screws to access the control board on the

back of the panel. The generator will have either of two

control boards (Figure 5A or 5B).

3. Disconnect the generator wire harness (8-wire

connector) from the control board connector J6.

Identify Interface Board Connections

Locate the supplied interface board in the kit. Before

proceeding, review and understand the interface board

connector assignments below (Figure 6).

Install Relay Wire

1. Locate the supplied relay wire in the kit. Determine the

length of wire needed and cut two pieces. Strip the

four ends prior to installation.

2. Insert one end of each wire into the N.O. and COM

terminals at the 10-pin connector plug or terminal

block. Insert the other end of each wire into the

interface board by pressing the tabs on the relay

connector (B, Figure 6). Polarity does not matter.

Install 240V Splitter Harness (Air Cooled Units)

1. Locate the supplied 240V splitter harness in the kit.

2. Plug the 240V splitter harness into the battery warmer

connector (arrow, Figure 7).

3. Route the other end of the harness to the interface

board and connect it to the 240V splitter harness

connector (C, Figure 6).

Install 240V Splitter Harness

(Liquid Cooled Units)

1. Locate the supplied 240V splitter harness and the

supplied liquid-cooled adapter harness in the kit.

2. Connect the 240V splitter harness to the adapter

harness.

3. At the fuse block inside the generator, connect each of

the adapter harness wires to the spade terminals under

each fuse (arrow, Figure 8).

4. Route the other end of the harness to the interface

board and connect it to the 240V splitter harness

connector (C, Figure 6).

Install Pass-Through Harness

1. Locate the supplied pass-through harness in the kit.

2. Connect the pass-through harness to the control panel,

then route it to the interface board and connect it to the

pass-through harness connector (D, Figure 6).

Install Cellular Unit Harness

1. Locate the supplied cellular unit harness in the kit.

2. Connect the cellular unit harness to the cellular unit,

then route it to the interface board and connect it to the

cellular unit harness connector (E, Figure 6).

Verify the Installation

1. Compare your connections with Figure 9 to confirm

proper installation of the harnesses.

2. Ensure all of these connectors are securely in place.

3. Route the generator wire harness on the control board

to the interface board and connect it to the generator

harness connector (A, Figure 6).

Mount Interface Board

Clean the mounting surface for the interface board with an

alcohol wipe or other cleaning solution. Peel the covering

from the adhesive strip on the back of the board, then

firmly press the board in place. See pages 8 and 9 for

recommended location.

Mount Cellular Unit

Clean the mounting surface for the cellular unit with an

alcohol wipe or other cleaning solution. Peel the covering

from the adhesive strip on the back of the unit, then firmly

press the unit in place. Connect the antenna cable at this

time. See pages 8 and 9 for recommended location.

Close Generator and Install Fuses

1. Use the supplied wire ties to organize the harness wires

and to secure excess wire lengths.

2. Reinstall the control panel and secure with screws.

3. Reinstall the control box front and secure with screws.

4. Connect negative battery cable to negative battery

terminal, indicated by NEGATIVE, NEG, or (-).

5. Reinstall the fuses into the transfer switch.

6. Reinstall the 15 Amp fuse in control panel.

7. Set generator circuit breaker to ON.

8. Set generator system switch to AUTO.

Download and Start Monitor Application

1. Ensure that utility power has been restored to the

generator. Monitor the green “CELL” LED on the

cellular unit (arrow, Figure 10). It will begin flashing

and then remain illuminated once the infohub is

activated.

2. Start the generator in Manual mode.

3. An “Engine On” text message will be sent to the mobile

phone number(s) configured in the account. This could

take up to 60 seconds.

4. Stop the generator.

5. An “Engine Off” text message will be sent to the mobile

phone number(s) configured in the account. This could

take up to 60 seconds.

6. Download the appropriate “infohub” mobile phone

application.

• Android: Google Play Store

• iPhone: Apple itunes/Application Store

7. Once the application is installed and started, navigate to

the “Settings” page and log into the application with the

username and password provided.

8. On the main page of the application, refresh the status

of the generator by pressing the refresh icon in the

upper right of the application. If the first attempt

results in a failure, select the “Try Again” button. Once

a “NEW” icon flashes on the screen, the installation has

been verified.

Suggested installation locations for each type of standby

generator are shown on the following pages.

Use the illustrations as a guide when mounting the interface

board (E) and cellular unit (G). In some instances, the

interface board needs to be mounted in the area behind the

control panel to enable wires to reach. This will be noted in

such instances.

Briggs & Stratton warrants that, during the warranty period specified below, it will repair or replace, free of charge, any part that is defective in material or workmanship

or both. Transportation charges on product submitted for repair or replacement under this warranty must be borne by purchaser. This warranty is effective for and is

subject to the time periods and conditions stated below. For warranty service, find the nearest Authorized Service Dealer in our dealer locator map at

BRIGGSandSTRATTON.COM. The purchaser must contact the Authorized Service Dealer, and then make the product available to the Authorized Service Dealer for

inspection and testing.

There is no other express warranty. Implied warranties, including those of merchantability and fitness for a particular purpose, are limited to the warranty

period listed below, or to the extent permitted by law. Liability for incidental or consequential damages are excluded to the extent exclusion is permitted

by law. Some states or countries do not allow limitations on how long an implied warranty lasts, and some states or countries do not allow the exclusion or limitation of

incidental or consequential damages, so the above limitation and exclusion may not apply to you. This warranty gives you specific legal rights and you may also have

ABOUT YOUR WARRANTY

Warranty service is available only through Briggs & Stratton Authorized Service Dealers. Most warranty repairs are handled routinely, but sometimes requests for warranty

service may not be appropriate. This warranty covers only defects in materials or workmanship. It does not cover damage caused by improper use or abuse, improper

maintenance or repair, or normal wear and tear.

Improper Use and Abuse - The proper, intended use of this product is described in the Operator’s Manual. Using the product in a way not described in the Operator’s

Manual or using the product after it has been damaged will not be covered under this warranty. Warranty coverage will also not be provided if the serial number on the

product has been removed or the product has been altered or modified in any way, or if the product has evidence of abuse such as impact damage or water/chemical

corrosion damage.

Improper Maintenance or Repair - This product must be maintained according to the procedures and schedules provided in the Operator’s Manual, and serviced or

repaired using genuine Briggs & Stratton parts or equivalent. Damage caused by lack of maintenance or use of non-original parts is not covered by warranty.

Normal Wear and Tear - Like most mechanical devices, your unit is subject to wear even when properly maintained. This warranty does not cover repairs when normal

use has exhausted the life of a part or the equipment. Maintenance and wear items such as filters, belts, cutting blades, and brake pads (except engine brake pads) are not

covered by warranty due to wear characteristics alone, unless the cause is due to defects in material or workmanship.

Other Exclusions - This warranty excludes damage due to accident, abuse, modifications, alterations, improper servicing, freezing or chemical deterioration. Attachments

or accessories that were not originally packaged with the product are also excluded. This warranty does not include used, reconditioned, second-hand, or demonstration

equipment or engines. This warranty also excludes failures due to acts of God and other force majeure events beyond the manufacturer’s control.

Antes de iniciar la instalación, consulte Ubicaciones sugeridas

Desconecte la energía

Antes de llevar a cabo cualquier instalación, mantenimiento o

servicio del generador, realice

SIEMPRE los siguientes pasos:

1. Sitúe el interruptor del sistema del generador en la posición

OFF.

2. Sitúe el disyuntor del generador en la posición OFF.

3. Retire el fusible de 15 A del panel de control.

4. Hay tensión que proviene de la red pública en el panel

5. Desconecte el cable negativo de la batería del terminal

de cables para encaminar el mazo de cables del infohub al

controlador del generador. A excepción del orificio del cable de

la antena, no es necesario perforar otros orificios.

Perfore el orificio para el cable de la antena

1. Consulte la sección Ubicaciones sugeridas para instalar el

infohub™ al final de estas instrucciones para determinar la

ubicación de montaje de la unidad celular.

2. Con una broca de 3/8 de pulgada, perfore un orificio en la

caja cerca de la ubicación deseada de la unidad celular para

que el cable de la antena llegue hasta la unidad (Figura 1).

El orificio se debe colocar cerca del techo pero no tan cerca

para evitar que haya interferencia cuando se abra totalmente

el techo.

3. Después de perforar el orificio, elimine todas las rebabas y

virutas de metal de la caja para evitar que se oxide.

4. Aplique una cantidad pequeña de antioxidante en la parte

interior y exterior de los rebordes del orificio y deje que

seque.

Monte la antena en el techo

1. Localice el pasacables de goma suministrado con

el juego.

2. Corte cuidadosamente de un extremo hacia el centro del

pasacables de goma. No lo corte a la mitad.

3. Cuando seque el antioxidante en el orificio del cable de la

antena, deslice el pasacables de goma en el cable de la

antena por el orificio y coloque el pasacables en el orificio.

4A. Monte la antena magnética en la parte superior

del generador.

4B. Para las unidades con techos de plástico, utilice la ménsula

de metal suministrada, el tornillo, la arandela y la tuerca de

la máquina.

• Encuentre una ubicación adecuada en el techo.

Esta ubicación debe ser cercana

al orificio del cable de la antena.

• Con una broca de 3/16 de pulgada perfore un orificio a través

del techo de plástico utilizando de referencia el orificio

central de la ménsula.

• Fije la ménsula y los accesorios en el orificio.

• Fije la antena a la parte superior de la ménsula como se

muestra (Figura 2).

ADVERTENCIA Peligro de descarga eléctrica. La tensión

peligrosa que proviene del servicio público o del

generador puede provocar la muerte o lesiones graves.

Corte todas las fuentes de tensión de entrada y

siga todas las instrucciones de corte de energía antes de

realizar cualquier tarea de mantenimiento. Compruebe con

un medidor que se haya cortado la energía del servicio

público.

5. Por afuera de la caja, enrolle y asegure el cable de la antena

con un amarre de cables (Figura 3) para ayudar a evitar que

el agua entre a la unidad.

6. Encamine el cable de la antena en dirección a la ubicación

de montaje de la unidad celular.

Desconecte el mazo de cables del generador

Antes de continuar, verifique que se haya cortado la energía de la

unidad.

1. Quite los tornillos y el frente del cuadro de control para

acceder al panel de control. El generador tendrá dos

paneles (Figura 4A o 4B).

2. Quite los tornillos para acceder a la tarjeta de control en la

parte posterior del panel. El generador tendrá dos tarjetas

de control (Figura 5A o 5B).

3. Desconecte el mazo de cables del generador (conector de 8

cables) del conector de la tarjeta de control J6.

Identifique las conexiones de la tarjeta

de interfaz

Localice la tarjeta de interfaz suministrada con el juego. Antes

de continuar, revise y entienda las siguientes asignaciones del

conector de la tarjeta de interfaz

(Figura 6).

A - Conector del mazo de cables del generador que proviene de la tarjeta

de control.

B - Conector del cable del relé por fallos.

C - Conector del mazo de cables del bifurcador de 240 V.

D - Conector del mazo de cables de paso.

E - Conector del mazo de cables de la unidad celular.

Instale el cable de relé

1. Localice el cable de relé suministrado con el juego.

Determine la longitud necesaria del cable y corte en dos

piezas. Pele los extremos antes de la instalación.

2. Inserte un extremo de cada cable en los terminales N.O. y

COM en el tapón del conector de 10 clavijas o bloque de

terminales. Inserte el otro extremo de cada cable en la

tarjeta de interfaz oprimiendo las pestañas en el conector de

relé (B, Figura 6).

La polaridad no tiene importancia.

Instale el mazo de cables del bifurcador de

240 V (unidades enfriadas por aire)

1. Localice el mazo de cables del bifurcador de 240 V

suministrado con el juego.

2. Enchufe el mazo de cables del bifurcador de 240 V en el

conector del calentador de batería.

3. Encamine el otro extremo del mazo de cables a la tarjeta

de interfaz y conéctelo al conector del mazo de cables del

bifurcador de 240 V (C, Figura 6).

Instale el mazo de cables del bifurcador de

240 V (unidades enfriadas por líquido)

1. Localice el mazo de cables del bifurcador de 240V y el mazo

de cables del adaptador enfriado por líquido suministrados

con el juego.

2. Conecte el mazo de cables del bifurcador de 240 V al mazo

de cables del adaptador.

3. En el bloque de fusibles dentro del generador, conecte cada

uno de los cables del mazo de cables del adaptador a los

terminales de horquilla en cada fusible (flecha, Figura 8).

4. Encamine el otro extremo del mazo de cables a la tarjeta

de interfaz y conéctelo al conector del mazo de cables del

bifurcador de 240 V (C, Figura 6).

Instale el mazo de cables de paso

1. Localice el mazo de cables de paso suministrado con el

juego.

2. Conecte el mazo de cables de paso al panel de control,

después encamínelo a la tarjeta de interfaz y conéctelo al

conector del mazo de cables de paso

(D, Figura 6).

Instale el mazo de cables de la unidad celular

1. Localice el mazo de cables de la unidad celular suministrado

con el juego.

2. Conecte el mazo de cables de la unidad celular a la unidad

celular, después encamínelo a la tarjeta de interfaz y

conéctelo al conector del mazo de cables de la unidad

celular (E, Figura 6).

Verifique la instalación

1. Compare sus conexiones con la Figura 9 para confirmar

que haya colocado correctamente los mazos de cables.

A - Conector del mazo de cables del generador que proviene de la tarjeta

de control.

B - Conector del cable del relé por fallos.

C - Conector del mazo de cables del bifurcador de 240 V.

D - Conector del mazo de cables de paso.

E - Conector del mazo de cables de la unidad celular.

2. Asegúrese de que todos estos conectores esté fijos en su

lugar.

3. Encamine el mazo de cables del generador en la tarjeta de

control a la tarjeta de interfaz y conéctelo al conector del

mazo de cables del generador

(A, Figura 6).

Instale la tarjeta de interfaz

Prepare la superficie de montaje para la tarjeta de interfaz

limpiándola con una toallita con alcohol u otra solución de

limpieza. Desprenda la cubierta de la tira adhesiva en la parte

posterior de la tarjeta y después presione firmemente la tarjeta

en su lugar. Consulte las páginas 8 y 9 que indican la ubicación

recomendada.

Instale la unidad celular

Prepare la superficie de montaje para la unidad celular

limpiándola con una toallita con alcohol u otra solución de

limpieza. Desprenda la cubierta de la tira adhesiva en la parte

posterior de la unidad y después presione firmemente la tarjeta

en su lugar. Conecte el cable de la antena en este momento.

Consulte las páginas 8 y 9 que indican la ubicación recomendada.

Cierre el generador e instale los fusibles

1. Use los amarres de cables suministrados para organizar los

cables del mazo y para fijar el

cable sobrante.

2. Vuelva a instalar el panel de control y asegúrelo con los

tornillos.

3. Vuelva a instalar el cuadro de control y asegúrelo con los

tornillos.

4. Conecte el cable negativo de la batería al terminal negativo,

se indica mediante NEGATIVO, NEG o (-).

5. Vuelva a instalar los fusibles del interruptor

de transferencia.

6. Vuelva a instalar el fusible de 15 A en el panel

de control.

7. Sitúe el disyuntor del generador en la posición ON.

8. Sitúe el interruptor del sistema del generador

en AUTO.

Descargue e inicie la aplicación

de monitorización

1. Asegúrese de haber restablecido la alimentación de la

red pública al generador. Monitorice el LED “CELL” en la

unidad celular (flecha, Figura 10). Comenzará a parpadear y

después se quedará iluminado una vez que infohub se haya

activado.

2. Arranque el generador en modo manual.

3. Se enviará el mensaje de texto "Engine On" (motor

encendido) a los números telefónicos móviles configurados

en la cuenta. Esto podría tardar un máximo de 60

segundos.

4. Pare el generador.

5. Se enviará el mensaje de texto "Engine Off" (motor apagado)

a los números telefónicos móviles configurados en la

cuenta. Esto podría tardar un máximo de 60 segundos.

6. Descargue la aplicación "infoHUB" para teléfono móvil

apropiada.

• Android: Google Play Store

• iPhone: Apple itunes/Application Store

7. Una vez que haya instalado y encendido la aplicación,

navegue hasta la página "Settings" (configuraciones) e inicie

la aplicación con el nombre de usuario y la contraseña

proporcionada.

8. En la página principal de la aplicación, actualice el estado

del generador pulsando el icono de actualización en la

esquina superior derecha de la aplicación. Si el primer

intento es fallido, seleccione el botón “Try Again” (volver

a intentar). Cuando el icono "NEW" (nuevo) parpadee en la

pantalla, se ha verificado la instalación.

Use las ilustraciones como guía cuando monte la tarjeta

de interfaz (E) y la unidad celular (G). En algunos casos, la
