INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS
Direct Drive Models
1. ApplyalightlmofgunlubeorwatertotheO-ringonthesealtoaid
ininstallation.
2. Orienttheshaftsealintheadapterasshown.
3. UsingtheatsideofasocketwithanO.D.slightlysmallerthanthe
shaftseal,pushshaftsealintoadaptercompletelyagainsttheupper
surface.
4. Carefullyinsertairmotorshaftthroughshaftseal,beingcarefulnotto
dislodgesealfromadapter.
5. Tighten(2)setscrewswhichretainairmotorinadapter.Attachadapter
couplingtoairmotorshaftandagitatorshaft.UseLoctite242(blue)
onallsetscrews.Tightenallsetscrews.
Hand Crank/Gear Reduced Models
1. Applyalightlmofgunlubeorwatertotheo-ringonthesealtoaid
ininstallation.
2. Orienttheshaftsealintheadapterasshown.
3. UsingtheatsideofasocketwithanO.D.slightlysmallerthanthe
shaftseal,pushshaftsealintoadaptercompletelyagainsttheupper
surface.
4. Carefullyslideagitatorshaftupthroughseal,beingcarefulnottonick
ordamagetheseal.
5. Slidethrustwasherandthrustcollaroverendofagitatorshaft.Ap-
plyLoctite242(blue)tosetscrewinthrustcollar.Tightensetscrew.
Screwretainingnutontobearingassemblyandtighten.
Vacuum Tank Operation
Ifthepressuretankisusedforvacuumoperation,theinternalretaining
ringsuppliedinthiskitmustbeusedtoretaintheshaftseal.Ifthetank
isusedforpressurefeedonly,discardtheretainer–notrequired.
Toinstalltheinternalretainingring:
1. Installshaftsealrstaspreviouslyshown.
2. The retaining ring has prongs that slope in one direction. Orient the
retainerwiththeprongsfacing awayfromtheshaftseal.
3.Using the samesocketasused to installthe shaft seal,press the
retainer(byhand)downintotheadapteruntilitseatsevenlyagainst
thefaceoftheshaftseal.Donotuseexcessiveforceasyoumay
damagetheshaftseal.
