byopeningthewindowsandairventsbeforeusingtheairconditioning.
Above30mph(50km/h),closethewindowsandleavetheairvents
open.
Remembertomakeuseofequipmentthatcanhelpkeepthe
temperatureinthepassengercompartmentdown(sunroofandwindow
blinds...).
Switchofftheairconditioning,unlessithasautomaticregulation,
assoonasthedesiredtemperatureisattained.
Switchoffthedemistinganddefrostingcontrols,ifnotautomatic.
Switchofftheheatedseatassoonaspossible.
Switchofftheheadlampsandfrontfoglampswhentheleveloflight
doesnotrequiretheiruse.
Avoidrunningtheenginebeforemovingoff,particularlyinwinter;your
vehiclewillwarmupmuchfasterwhiledriving.

Eco-drivingisarangeofeverydaypracticesthatallowthemotoristtooptimisetheirfuelconsumptionandCO

emissions.
Optimise the use of your gearbox
Withamanualgearbox,moveoffgentlyandchangeupwithoutwaiting.
Duringaccelerationchangeupearly.
Withanautomaticorelectronicgearbox,givepreferencetoautomatic
modeandavoidpressingtheacceleratorpedalheavilyorsuddenly.
Thegearshiftindicatorinvitesyouengagethemostsuitablegear:as
soon as the indication is displayed in the instrument panel, follow it
straightaway.
Forvehiclesfittedwithanelectronicorautomaticgearbox,this
indicatorappearsonlyinmanualmode.
Drive smoothly
Maintainasafedistancebetweenvehicles,useenginebrakingrather
thanthebrakepedal,andpresstheacceleratorprogressively.These
practices contribute towards a reduction in fuel consumption and CO
2
emissionsandalsohelpsreducethebackgroundtrafficnoise.
Control the use of your electrical
equipment
Ifyourvehiclehascruisecontrol,makeuseofthesystematspeeds
above25mph(40km/h)whenthetrafficisflowingwell.
Asapassenger,ifyouavoidconnectingyourmultimediadevices
(film,music,videogame...),youwillcontributetowardslimitingthe
consumptionofelectricalenergy,andsooffuel.
Disconnectyourportabledevicesbeforeleavingthevehicle.

Limit the causes of excess consumption
Spreadloadsthroughoutthevehicle;placetheheaviestitemsinthe
bottomoftheboot,ascloseaspossibletotherearseats.
Limittheloadscarriedinthevehicleandreducewindresistance(roof
bars,roofrack,bicyclecarrier,trailer...).Usearoofboxinpreference.
Removeroofbarsandroofracksafteruse.
Attheendofwinter,removesnowtyresandrefityoursummertyres.
Observe the recommendations on
maintenance
Checkthetyrepressuresregularly,whencold,referringtothelabelin
thedooraperture,driver'sside.
Carryoutthischeckinparticular:
- beforealongjourney,
- ateachchangeofseason,
- afteralongperiodoutofuse.
Don'tforgetthesparewheelandthetyresonanytrailerorcaravan.

withoutdelaytohavetheemissionsofnitrousoxidesbroughtbackto
thelegallevel.
Whenrefuelling,donotcontinueafterthethirdcut-offofthenozzleto
avoidanyoverflow.
At the wheel of your new vehicle, it is only after the first 1 800 miles
(3000kilometres)thatyouwillseethefuelconsumptionsettledownto
aconsistentaverage.
