Allow the engine to cool at least two minutes before refueling.

starterhandleandallowit toslowlyrecoil.

7. Allowtheenginetowarmupseveralminutes,adjustingchoke

towardRUN_ _position.Waituntilenginerunssmoothlybefore

eachchokeadjustment.

levelperformanceis tobemaintaine&Regularmaintenancewillalso

ensurea longservicelife.Therequiredserviceintervalsandthetype

of maintenancetobe performedaredescribedin thetableabove.

Followthehourlyorcalendarintervals,whicheveroccurfirsLMore

frequentserviceisrequiredwhenoperatingin adverseconditions.

Checkoil levelbeforeeachuseandevery5operatinghourswhenthe

engineiswarm.RefertoCheckingandAddingOilin theAssembly

Section.

Changetheoil afterthefirst5 operatinghoursandevery50operating

hoursthereafter.EngineshouldstillbewarmbutNOThotfrom recent

use.

Drainfuelfromthetankbyrunningtheengineuntilthefueltankis

empty.Besurethefuelfillcapis secure.

RemovethethreescrewsthatsecurethelowerpanekRemovethe

lowerpanelbyliftinguponthepaneltofreethetabsatthebottom

Thesparkplugshouldbecheckedevery25hoursandchangedonce

a seasonorevery100hours.Toensureproperengineoperation,the

sparkplugmustalsobeproperlygappedandfreeof deposits.

Lubricatethe pivotpointson thecontrolhandleandtheextension

springattheendofthecontrolcablewitha lightoilonceeveryseason

and beforethesnowthrowerisputintostorageattheendofthe

season.

Shave Pmate

Tochecktheadjustmentoftheshaveplate,placethemachineon a

levelsurface.Thewheels,shaveplateandaugerpaddiesshouldall

contactthelevelsurface.Notethat iftheshaveplateisadjustedtoo

high,snowmayblowundertheaugerhousing,if theshaveplatewears

outexcessively,or thesnowthrowerdoesnotseBpropel,theshave

platemaybetoolowandneedstobeadjusted.

NOTE:Onnewsnowthrowersor machineswitha newshaveplate

installed,theaugerpaddiesmaybeslightlyoff theground.

Toadjusttheshaveplateproceedasfollows:

1. Runthesnowthroweruntilthefueltankisempty.

2. Pullthestartercorduntilresistanceisfelt.Thentipthesnow

throwerbackuntilit restsonthehandles.Toensurethatthesnow

throwerdoesnottipforward,it maybe necessarytosecurethe

handletothegroundwitha blockorotherobject.

3. Loosenthefourflangelocknutsandcarriageboltswhichsecure

theshaveplatetothehousing.SeeFigure17.Movetheshaveplate

tothedesired)ositionandretightenthenutsandboltssecurely.

3. Removethefourcarriageboltsandflangelocknutswhichattach

4. Reversetheexistingshaveplateor installa newone,makingsure

thenewshaveplateandthe headsofthecarriageboltsareon

theinsideofthehousing.

5. Adjustthe shaveplateas instructedon page14.
