Cord nd Plug Sfety
1. A short power-supply cord is provided to reduce risk of becoming entngled
in or tripping over  longer cord.
2. Extension cords my be used if cre is exercised in their use.
3. If n extension cord is used:
The mrked electricl rting of the extension cord should be t lest equl
to the electricl rting of the pplince; nd
The longer cord should be rrnged so tht it will not drpe over the
countertop or tbletop where it cn be pulled on by children or tripped
over.
Electricl Polrized Plug
This unit hs  polrized plug (one blde is wider thn the other).
To reduce the risk of electric shock, the plug is intended to be
used by inserting it into the electricl outlet only one wy. If the
plug does not fit securely into the outlet, reverse the plug nd
re-insert. If it still does not fit, contct  qulified electricin for
ssistnce. Do not modify the plug in ny wy.

Before First Use
1. Remove nd discrd ll pckging mteril nd stickers tht re not
permnent.
2. Remove the water reservoir, milk reservoir, portafilter, filters, measuring
scoop, removable drip tray, nd removable coaster. Wsh them with non-
brsive sop. Thoroughly dry nd reinsert the prts. Wipe the exterior with
 dmp cloth.
Setting Up
Plce the espresso mker on  hrd, flt, level, het-resistnt surfce only.
Plug the power cord into n outlet.

Priming the Espresso Mker
1. Turn the pplince on by flicking
the power switch on the right side
of the pplince.
2. The pplince will beep three
times nd begin preheting.
The icons will pulse stedily until
finished preheting. After pre-
heting, the pplince will enter
stndby mode. All vilble fe-
tures on the disply will light up.
3. Fill the removble water reservoir
with wter between the “Min” nd
“Mx” mrk.
Note: You cn either use  pitcher
to fill the reservoir or you cn
remove the reservoir nd fill it up
t the sink. Be sure to rettch
the reservoir nd plce the water
reservoir cover bck on fter
filling up t the sink. Never use
wrm or hot wter to fill the water
reservoir.
4. Fill the milk reservoir with wter—
not milk—below the “Mx” mrk.
5. Insert nd secure the milk
reservoir into the pplince.
6. Set the froth strength control to
the maximum strength.
7. Plce  het-proof cup or mug
over the drip tray.
8. Turn the silver froth tube lever to
position the froth dispensing tube
directly over the cup.

9. Insert n empty portafilter into
the brew head. To plce the
portafilter into the brew head,
follow the instructions under
“Plcing the Portfilter” below.
10. Tp CAPPUCCINO icon twice. Your
selected drink type will blink
until the espresso mker is done
preheting. After preheting,
the brewing process will begin.
When brewing is complete, the
pplince will beep three times.
11. Discrd the wter dispensed into
the cup nd the remining wter
in the water reservoir nd milk
reservoir.
Filling The Portfilter
1. Select your filter size. Use the
single-shot filter for one shot of
espresso. Use the double-shot
filter for lrger sized drinks, or
for  double shot of espresso.
Align the gp in the filter with the
groove in the portafilter. Drop the
filter into the portafilter nd rotte
the filter to ensure it’s locked in
plce.
2. Use the measuring spoon to fill
the filter with coee grounds. Do
not exceed the MAX line in the
filter.
3. Use the tmper end of the
measuring spoon to press on
the grounds. The surfce of the
coee grounds should be smooth
fter pressing.
4. Clen ny excess grounds from
the rim of the portafilter.
Plcing The Portfilter
1. Plce the portafilter underneth
the brew head, with the hndle
fcing towrd the left.
2. Keep one hnd top the
pplince to keep it stedy while
fstening the portafilter into the
brew head. The hndle must
lign with the open lock icon on
the brew head.
3. Turn the hndle to the right to
lock the portafilter into the brew
head. The hndle must lign with
the closed lock icon on the brew
head.

1. Follow steps 1-4 under “Mking 
Cppuccino” on pge 12.
2. Insert the milk reservoir into the
pplince.
Note: If the milk reservoir is not
securely inside the pplince, the
ltte function will not be vilble
s n option.
3. Set the froth strength control to
the mximum strength.
Note: The bove setting is 
recommendtion only. You cn
set the froth strength control to
ny setting you choose.
4. Plce  het-proof cup or mug
over the drip tray.
5. Turn the silver froth tube lever to
position the froth dispensing tube
directly over the cup.
6. To fill with coee, follow the
instructions under “Filling the
Portfilter” on pge 9.

7. To ttch the portafilter to the
brew head, follow the instructions

AMERICANO icon once. For 

8. When your desired mount of
coee hs dispensed, tp the
MANUAL ESPRESSO icon gin nd
coee will cese brewing.
Note: The mximum mount of
coee tht will dispense is 14 oz.
9. The pplince will go into stndby
mode when the brew cycle ends.
10. Discrd the spent grounds by
removing the portafilter from the
brew head. Lift the filter retainer
clip so tht it’s plced over the
filter edge nd hold it in plce s
you dump the coee grounds into
the trsh.

Frothing Milk
1. Turn the pplince on by flicking
the power switch on the side of
the pplince.
2. The pplince will beep three
times nd begin preheting.
The icons will pulse stedily
until finished preheting. After
preheting, the pplince will
enter stndby mode. All vilble
fetures on the disply will light
up.
3. Fill the milk reservoir with milk
nywhere below the “Mx” mrk.
4. Secure the milk reservoir in the
pplince.
5. Set the froth strength control.
6. Plce  het-proof mug over the
drip tray.
7. Turn the silver froth tube lever to
position the froth dispensing tube
directly over the cup.
8. Tp the FROTH icon.
9. Milk will froth for  mximum of
three minutes. To stop frothing
erlier, simply tp the FROTH icon
gin nd milk will cese frothing.

Clening The Portfilter nd Brew Hed
1. Turn the unit o nd unplug the
power cord from the outlet. Wit
for the metl prts to cool down
before touching them.
2. Remove the portafilter from the
brew head nd dump the used
coee grounds. Lift the filter
retainer clip so tht it’s plced
over the filter edge, nd hold it
in plce s you dump the coee
grounds into the trsh.
3. Rinse the single-shot filter,
double-shot filter, nd portafilter
with wrm, sopy wter.
4. Wipe the underside of the brew
head with  dmp cloth to clen
o ny excess coee grounds.
Clening The Wter Reservoir
1. Discrd leftover wter by removing the reservoir nd dumping it into the sink.
2. Wsh the water reservoir with sopy wter. Rinse nd dry well.
Clening The Milk Reservoir nd Frothing Tube
1. Remove the milk reservoir from
the unit. If there is ny remining
milk, pour the milk into  seprte
continer nd store it in the
refrigertor.
2. Wsh the milk reservoir nd milk
reservoir lid thoroughly with wrm,
sopy wter. Do not use brsive
clensers nd scouring pds.
Note: Hnd wsh only! The milk
reservoir is not dishwsher sfe.
3. Attch the portafilter—with n
empty filter—into the brew head.
4. Plce  lrge het-resistnt cup
under the brew head.
5. Mke sure there is wter in both
the water reservoir nd the milk
reservoir.
6. Set the froth strength to the Clean
/ Americano position. Position the
froth dispensing tube over the cup
by tilting the silver froth tube lever.
7. Tp the CLEAN icon.
8. Wit until ll the wter hs
finished dispensing before
removing the cup from
underneth the brew head
(the unit will beep three times
nd other function buttons will
repper).
9. Dispose of the wter in the mug
nd ny remining wter in the
milk reservoir nd water reservoir.

Descling
After using the espresso mker for  while, limescle will begin to build up inside
the pplince. It is importnt to descle the pplince every 2-3 months. If the
espresso mker is used dily, the descling process should be done monthly.
1. Plug the power cord into n
outlet.
2. Turn the pplince on by pressing
flicking the power switch on the
left side of the pplince.
3. The pplince will beep three
times nd begin preheting. After
preheting, the pplince will
enter stndby mode. All vilble
fetures on the disply will light
up.
4. Fill the removable water reservoir
with wter nd vinegr between
the “Min” nd “Mx” mrk.
5. Plce  lrge cup on the drip tray

espresso mker nd turning the
pplince upside down over the
sink.
10. Rinse the water reservoir
thoroughly with tp wter nd
then pour the wter bck into the
sink.
11. Fill up the water reservoir with
wter nd begin brewing gin.
This wshes out ny remining
vinegr.
NOTE: If n odor of vinegr
persists, run nother cycle with
wter.
