Thank you for purchasing our USB modem. Before use, please read the manual carefully. This
manual will help you complete the USB Modem installation and show you how to use it. You will
then be able to enjoy the fun of wireless internet surfing anywhere, anytime.
Product Overview
The 3.5G USB Modem is backward compatible with HSDPA/UMTS/EDGE/GPRS/GSM, up to
7.2Mbps maximum speed. You will gain access to high-speed internet thanks to the continuous
upgrading of software and technology, it will be able to provide you with even more
functionality in the future.
This USB has a plug-and-play, auto-install driver. No CD-ROM is required.

Warnings
Do not use in a hot or humid environment.
Through the use of excessive force you can easily damage this product and cause
malfunctions. During insertion and unplugging to the USB port, handling, and especially
while inserted, special care should be taken to not use excessive force. Careless use
leading breaking of the USB port can also harm your computer.
Any modification of the supplied software, and/or opening/modifying the device will
void all warranties.
Avoid vibration and shocks. When not in use, the USB modem should be carefully
protected from any damage during handling/storage.
Do not use near explosive or flammable items.
Do not insert the SIM card while the modem is connected to a PC.

Software & Driver Installation
Different operating systems required for the installation and un-installation procedure may
cause the procedure to be different from the one described in this manual. If you see any
differences, please follow the guidelines on the computer to install the software and drive.
1. Please start your computer, then connect the USB modem to the PC.
(Please note: the signal depends on the local network conditions.)
2. The operating system will search for data card devices.
3. The operating system will complete the search for data card devices and show the above
message.
4. The computer software will be installed automatically on your PC, and the following
message will be displayed.
If step (4) does not start automatically, follow step (5), otherwise go straight to step (6).
5. Click on “My Computer”, then right-click the “HSDPA USB Modem” device and select
“Autoplay”, as shown below.
6. After installation is complete, press FINISH.

7. Wait for the computer to automatically install the data card driver, then wait for 1-3
minutes depending on the level of computer configuration required.
If step (7) does not start automatically, please follow step (8), otherwise go straight to
step (9).
8. Start “My Computer”, right click “HSDPA USB Modem” and select autoplay.
9. Wait to complete the installation of data card drivers.
Inserting Your SIM Card
Step 1: Place the USB model so that the ratings label is facing
upwards, towards you.
Step 2: Remove the end cap from the USB modem.
Step 3: Slide the topside of the casing away from the USB plug,
which will allow for it to be lifted away from the USB modem.
Remove the casing in the direction of the arrow shown in Step
2.
Step 4: Following the label on the SIM card guard, slide your SIM
card into position. Underneath the SIM card slot is a slot that
you can insert a MicroSD memory card into.

Troubleshooting Guide
Problem Suggested Solution
Driver or application software installation failed. Ensure at least 50MB of free disk space.
Before installing driver, close all other programs.
LED indicator not flashing. Check that the SIM card is fully inserted into the SIM card
slot, ensuring that it is installed in the correct direction.
If the indicator light is still not flashing, disconnect the USB
port and re-insert the SIM, then reconnect.
Application cannot start. Connect the USB modem to the PC, then wait about 5-10
seconds, then run the application. The application will
automatically test if the equipment is connected or not and if
the SIM is inserted correctly or not.
Follow the below steps to check the modem driver: right-
click My Computer Manage Device Driver → →
Modem/Ports.
1. Make sure the modem name “Mobile Connector”, the port
name “Device Diagnostic Interface” and “Device Application
Interface” are all displayed and do not show warning signs.
2. If any warnings are shown, take out the USB modem and
plug it in again, then the drive can be installed.
3. If you still see a warning marker, follow these steps: right-
click the “Mobile Connector”, “Device Diagnostic Interface”
and “Device Application Interface”, then in the pop-up menu,
select “uninstall” to uninstall the existing drivers. Take the
modem out, then plug it back in again and enter the
installation menu of the driver.
Modem Connection Failure Check if the wireless internet service is currently available and
working in your region. Check if the SIM card supports the service or
not, or for further information contact your local network operator.
If the SIM card is a prepaid card, make sure that the card has
enough balance.
Check the dial-up connection, click on it's properties to
verify the modem connection.

Modem Connection is OK, but then immediately
disconnects.
A SIM card problem is possible. Try another SIM card.
If it is not a SIM card problem, it may be a network server
instability. Try another network providers SIM card.
Driver did not complete the uninstallation. In order to make sure that the software was uninstalled properly, do
not pull out the USB modem during the uninstall process and instead
wait for the completion of the uninstallation. Then go to “My
Computer” “Manage” “Device Manager” and scan for hardware → →
changes again. A window should pop up saying device drivers need
to be installed, at which point you should cancel all install requests.
Next to the devices yellow question mark icons will appear. Right-
click these devices, select “uninstall” to completely uninstall device
drivers, so you can then uninstall the USB modem driver safely and
completely.
Guide to Dial-Up Failure

Maintenance
1. Before the modem is disconnected from the PC, you must turn off the modem
application software and wait for the network connection icon to disappear in the
bottom right.
2. When the modem is connected to the PC, do not insert a SIM card.
3. Do not open the modem cover to repair it yourself. You should contact the Kogan
customer support team.
4. Do not shake or hit the modem.
5. Do not user chemicals to clean the surface of the modem. Use a dry cloth.
6. Do not use modem in close range of medical devices.
7. Do not use modem in aircraft.
8. Do not use modem near any flammable or explosive environments.
9. Do not use during lightning storms.
