How to Play:
• For junior-level play, position the two game boards
facing each other at a distance of 12'-15' from the front
edge of each board. Increase the distance as players
improve! A distance of 27' is recommended for adults.
• Play with 2-4 players divided into two teams. Each
team chooses a beanbag color.
• Taking turns, players throw all four beanbags from the
pitching area into the holes on the opposing board. The
fi rst team to earn 21 points, wins. The pitching area, or
“pitch box” is defi ned as the 3' area to each side of
a game board. Careful: stepping in front of a game
board is a foul, and forfeits a turn!
• In a game of singles, players start side by side and
alternate pitching until each player has pitched all four
bags. For doubles, team players face each other from
opposing boards and play in the same way.
• Honor pitching: the winner of a preceding inning pitches
fi rst in the next inning. If neither pitcher has scored, the
last pitcher to play an inning becomes the fi rst pitcher
for the next inning.
How to Score:
• Bag-in-the-Count, or a Woody = 1 point (occurs when a
bag lands anywhere on an opposing board).
• Bag-in-the-Hole, or a Cornhole = 3 points (a bag
thrown through the upper hole of an opposing board,
or knocked through the upper hole by another bag).
• Baby Bag = 2 points (a bag thrown through the lower
hole of an opposing board, or knocked through the
lower hole by another bag).
• Foul Bag = 0 points (any bag thrown while in violation of
the pitch box, or not as described above).
• Score by cancellation: at the end of each inning,
the points of one player cancel out the points of the
opponent, so that only one player (or team) may score
in each inning.
• Use the scorekeeper on the top of each game board to
keep track of points.
• Players are free to create additional rules and
challenges to add to the fun!
