2 Safety instructions

2.1 General safety

z Use only the connection cable to connect the device to the AC mains.

z Never pull the plug out of the socket by the cable.

z Do not operate the disinfection device if the device or the cable are damaged.

z This appliance may only be repaired by qualified personnel. Inadequate repairs

can lead to considerable hazards.

Should your appliance need to be repaired, please contact WAECO customer

service.

z Disconnect the connection cable:

– Before cleaning and maintenance

– After use

z Check that the voltage specification on the type plate corresponds to that of the

energy supply.

2.2 Operating the appliance safely

z Only use disinfectants approved by WAECO

(Disinfectant, item no.: 8887400012).

z Never operate the the device without liquid.

z Before starting the device, ensure that the power supply line and the plug are dry.

z Do not breathe in disinfectant spray.

Get out of the vehicle during spraying.

z Never immerse the device in water.

z Do not clean plastic parts with solvents or corrosive substances.

z Never expose the device to rain or moisture.

z Protect the device and the power cable against heat and moisture.

z WAECO cannot be held liable for damage resulting from improper usage or

incorrect operation.

6 Description

6.1 Intended use

Caution

Also follow any other cleaning regulations which apply. The disinfec-

tion device is only intended to assist your other cleaning work, not to

replace it.

The disinfection device is an ultrasonic spraying device for reducing germs in air

conditioning evaporators and vehicle interiors (for example in emergency vehicles).

6.2 Function description

The ultrasonic cells diffuse the disinfectant into a fine spray. The spray is directed

through the hose by a fan to the suction openings of the evaporator or the inside of

the vehicle.

The disinfection device switches off automatically when the fluid reaches a minimum

level or the temperature exceeds 35 °C.

7Operation

7.1 Cleaning the air-conditioning evaporator

Note:

Only use disinfectant supplied by WAECO.

The disinfection device works best at temperatures between 0 and 35 °C.

Caution

Observe the safety instructions on the packaging of the disinfectant.

➤ Shake the disinfectant well.

➤ Open the lid and pour in disinfectant up to the maximum filling level indicator (red

mark) on the disinfection device.

Note:

Do not over-fill the device.

➤ Close the door.

➤ Plug in the hose completely.

➤ Set up the disinfection device upright, firmly standing on the air conditioning

evaporator.

➤ Place the hose near the intake opening of the ventilation system.

Selecting air conditioning settings

➤ Settings:

– Set the temperature control to the lowest level.

– Set the blower to the highest level.

– Open the air outlets for the air conditioning.

– Set to ventilation.

➤ Switch on the air conditioning.

➤ Connect the disinfection device to the power supply (1).

➤ Get out of the vehicle and close the doors.

Caution!

Do not damage the power cable.

Do not inhale the spray.

➤ Allow the air-circulation/automatic air-conditioning system to run for about

20 minutes.

Note:

The disinfection device stops automatically when the liquid reaches a

minimum level.

Ending the cleaning procedure

➤ Disconnect from the mains (2).

➤ Let the disinfectant act for 30 minutes.

Ventilating the vehicle

➤ Open all vehicle doors and switch off the blower and the air-conditioning.

➤ Allow the interior of the vehicle to ventilate for 30 minutes.

➤ After the cleaning procedure, leave the blower running for more than

10 minutes to dry the vaporiser.

7.2 Cleaning the interior

Note:

Only use disinfectant supplied by WAECO.

Use the disinfection device to clean the interior of your vehicle as described in "Clean-

ing the air-conditioning evaporator" on page 13.

➤ Set up the disinfection device without a hose, facing the interior of the vehicle.

➤ Connect the disinfection device to the power supply. Get out of the vehicle and

close the doors.

Caution!

Do not damage the power cable.

Do not inhale the spray.

✓ The disinfection device stops automatically after around 20 minutes when the

liquid reaches a minimum level.

➤ Disconnect from the mains.

➤ Let the disinfectant act for 30 minutes.

➤ Open all vehicle doors and allow the vehicle interior to air for approx. 30 minutes.

➤ Disconnect from the mains.

➤ Remove the hose.

➤ Empty any remaining fluid.

➤ Rinse out with distilled water.

9 Troubleshooting

No spray formation

z Too little fluid in the disinfection device.

z The ultrasonic cell is defective.

z The fan is defective.

z Fault in the connection to the transformer.

Liquid leaks out of the device

z Too much disinfectant in the device.

z The container is overflowing because the device is standing on a severe slope.

10 Guarantee

The statutory warranty period applies. If the product is defective, please send it back

to the WAECO branch in your country (addresses on the back of the operating

manual) or to your dealer. For repair and guarantee processing, the following

documents must be sent along with the device:

z A copy of the receipt with purchasing date

z A reason for the claim or description of the fault

11 Disposal

➤ Take the packaging material for recycling.

If you need to scrap the device, ask your local recycling centre or specialist

dealer for details about how to do this in accordance with the applicable dis-

posal regulations.
