ConnecttheREDwiretothePOSSITIVEBATTERYTERMINALandtheBLACK
wire to the NEGATIVEBATTERYTERMINAL. Connect the mains cable to a
230Vacmainsvoltageoutlet.Thechargingstartsafterafewseconds,thechar-
gingphasesaredisplayedwiththebarinthebatterysymbolontherightsideof
thedisplaysticker:
Thebulkphase(STEP1)isindicatedwiththefirstyellowLED(thisindicationis
keptthroughSTEP2and3).Whenthecurrentisbelow–I2-thechargerswit-
chesintoSTEP4andthenextyellowLEDislitup.Whenthereachthefinal
chargingstepthetopLEDturnsonwithgreenlightandthebatteryisfullychar-
ged.Thisindicationwillremainuntilthechargerisdisconnectedfromthemains.
Installation
Thechargerisequippedwithatemp-sense.Thesensorislocatedinthemi-
nus(black)batteryconnector.Thisfeatureensuresacorrectchargingvoltage
throughoutthewholetemperaturerange.Theoutputwillbecompensatedwith
3mV/cell/degree@25degrees.
Thechargerhasabuildinovertemperatureprotection.Thesurfaceofthechar-
gerhousinglimitstoexceedatemperatureof65°C.Whenthechargerisinstal-
ledonaplacewheretheairflowisreducedthisfunctionmayreducetheoutput
currentofthedevice.
Temperature control
TheCHAMPcanalsobeusedasapowersupplywhenthismodeisselected.
Theoutputisfixedtoeither13.7or27.5Vdcdependingonthemodelandal-
lows85%offulloutputcurrent.Thereisnotimelimitinthismode.Thepolarity
protectionisvoidinthismode,wrongconnectionmaycausedamages.

standardprogrammingissuitableforLeadAcidbatteries–openorsealed-in
allapplications
