Aqua Computer aquabus X4 is an active quadruple aquabus splitter that allows you to connect up to four additional aquabus devices to your aquaero 5 or aquaero 6 controller. It features four aquabus connectors, each of which can support up to 32 devices, for a total of 128 possible devices. The aquabus X4 is also compatible with the Aqua Computer Real Time Clock module, allowing you to use both modules simultaneously. Installation is simple and requires no additional tools or software.

Active quadruple aquabus splitter.
For operation, an aquaero 5 or aquaero 6 device with firmware version 2100 or
higher is required. Compatible firmware versions are included starting with aqua-
suite version 2018-1.

The aquabus X4 is to be installed directly on top of an aquaero 5/6 device:
1. Turn off the PC, disconnect the aquaero from the PSU, disconnect the USB
cable, the standby power cable (aquaero 5 only) and aquabus high speed
cable from the aquaero if connected.
2. Remove the two screws adjacent to the temperature sensor inputs and to the
speed signal output from the aquaero.
3. Plug the aquabus X4 module onto the aquabus high speed connector of the
aquaero.
4. Secure both PCBs using the two cylindrical spacers and screws according to
the following figure. (The aquabus X4 can also be installed if a passive heat
sink is installed on the aquaero, in this case use the shorter spacers supplied
with the heat sink, replacement part number 91239.)
5. Connect aquabus high speed compatible devices to the aquabus connectors
of the aquabus X4 module. Reconnect PSU, USB and standby cables to the
corresponding connectors (if previously installed) and start the PC.

If aquabus X4 and Real Time Clock modules are to be used simultaneously, the
aquabus X4 has to be installed onto the aquaero 5/6. Install the Real Time Clock
module somewhere else in the PC and connect one of the aquabus connectors of
the aquabus X4 to one of the aquabus connectors of the Real Time Clock module.
(Compatible aquabus cables: 53122 or 53162)

● If used with multiple Calitemp sensors, each Calitemp sensor must be con-
nected to an individual connector of the aquabus X4 board – do not con-
nect two Calitemp sensors to the same connector using splitter cables!
● All other aquabus devices (such as poweradjust, mps, farbwerk, etc.) can be
connected to any connector of the aquabus X4 board in any combination,
also to ports that are connected to (exactly one) Calitemp sensor. Use
aquabus splitters (product codes 53063, 53124 or 53231) to connect mul-
tiple devices.

● The aquabus X4 board does not affect the maximum number of aquabus
devices to be connected to an aquaero. Refer to the aquaero manual for
maximum number of aquabus devices per type.
● Connect a similar number of devices to each of the four aquabus connec-
tors of the aquabus X4 board for optimum performance.
● Do not connect multiple aquabus X4 boards to one aquaero! For additional
aquabus connectors, use aquabus splitters (product codes 53063, 53124
or 53231).
