In order to avoid hazards, in your own interests,
carefully observe the following advice:
ATTENTION!
The mandatory laws for the prevention of accidents
and other, generally accepted safety related and
occupational health regulations and the accident
prevention regulations for power-driven machinery
must be complied with. Every other use above and
beyond this is considered to be improper use. For
damage or injury arising from this, the manufacturer
accepts no liability. The operating instructions are an
integral part of the scope of supply and must be
supplied to the new purchaser in the event of resale.
The responsibilities when working must be clearly
defined and observed in order that, from the point of
view of safety, there are no unclear responsibilities.
Mechanical service work must be carried out at the
prescribed intervals and within the specified scope.
Following maintenance work, all disassembled safety
equipment must be professionally refitted. The safety
equipment and its protective function must be
checked by competent personnel before putting the
machine back in to operation.
Breakdowns must be reported immediately they are
discovered. The equipment must be labelled
accordingly. Defects must be rectified immediately in
order to limit the scale of the damage and not to
impair the safety of the machine. In the event of non-
observance, the warranty is invalidated.
Determined by the method of working, there are areas
and / or components which cannot be covered or
protected without considerably affecting the function
and operability of the machine. Good personal safety
practice by the operator is, therefore, necessary for
his own protection and the protection of the machine
from damage.
Never operate working equipment under the influence
of alcohol, medication or drugs.
The tank sand blasting machines may only be used
and operated within the scope of the conditions
specified in the service and delivery contracts.
Retrofitting, changes or modifications to the machine
are strictly forbidden. In every case, discussion with
the manufacturer is necessary.
If in operation, hazards and risks (residual) which are
not described in these operating instructions should
become evident the operating company is obliged to
inform the manufacturer of these.
This machine is suitable exclusively for use on firm,
level and smooth ground. Therefore, always ensure a
solid base!
Do not dismantle the machine. Dismantling leads to
subsequent malfunctions and defects.
Check the functionality before every use, and check
especially the tightness of all fasteners and for leaks.
3. Conduct in an Emergency
Carry out the necessary first aid measures
appropriate to the injury and summon qualified
medical aid as quickly as possible. Keep the injured
party calm and protect him from further injury.
4. Safety Advice
In your own interests, please pay attention to the
following advice, prohibitions and commands for the
correct handling of your machine:
Keep work areas free of obstacles. Cluttered work
areas and surfaces present considerable risk of
accidents!
Do not operate the machine in a dangerous
environment. Also, do not operate it in damp or wet
rooms or expose it to rain. Always illuminate work
surfaces and areas well.
Children and visitors must be kept away from the
machine. Always keep children and visitors at a safe
distance from the work area.
Secure the workshop or the work room against
unauthorized access.
Do not overload the machine. The performance of
the machine is always better and its operation safer
when it is operated within the performance bands for
which it is intended.
Do not fit attachments for work for which the
machine is not designed.
Wear the proper work clothes; avoid loose clothing,
gloves, scarves, rings, necklaces, bracelets or other
jewellery. These can become caught in the machine
and thereby cause dangerous accidents.
Wear shoes with slip-proof soles.
Wear headgear which completely covers long hair.
Long hair can become caught in moving components
and cause serious accidents.
Always wear safety glasses. Practice here in
accordance with the accident prevention regulations.
Likewise, face masks must be worn when working in
dusty atmospheres.
Observe standard safety rules. Always keep foot
position and bodily balance so that a safe stance is
assured.
Always keep the machine in perfect condition. Observe
the operating instructions for the cleaning, lubricating
and changing of accessories.
Always disconnect the machine from the compressed
air supply before starting maintenance work or the
changing of accessories is to be carried out. To do so,
close the valve (18) and open the valve (12). Wait until
the indicator on the pressure gauge (15) shows zero.
Only use recommended accessories. In addition,
observe the information in the operating instructions.
The use of unsuitable accessories entails the risk of
accidents.
Avoid the unintentional starting up of the machine.
Always check before connecting to the compressed
air supply that the operating switch of the compressor
is set to OFF AND that the pressure vessel of the
compressor is not under pressure.
Operate the machine at an air pressure between 5
and maximum 8.5 bar! The machine can be damaged
at higher pressures! Personnel may also be put at
risk.
For all interruptions to work, the machine must,
without fail, be separated from the compressed air
supply by disconnection! Otherwise the machine can
be unintentionally started up!!
Before starting work, ALWAYS ensure that all
compressed air connections are intact and in perfect
working order. Otherwise, the connections can
become loose and flying objects (for example,
compressed air hoses) can cause considerable injury
and damage!
Also ensure that the spray nozzle is always closed
when you are not actually holding the spray gun and
working with it.
Check the hoses and other connections for tightness
before every use.
Only use the machine in well ventilated rooms and
ensure that no substances or fumes which are
injurious to health are inhaled.
Smoking in the immediate vicinity of the machine is
strictly forbidden!
Never operate or store the machine close to sources
of heat, open fires or in areas where there may be
sparks!
Never direct the sand stream at people or animals!
5. Correct and Proper use
Only use the machine for the sand blasting of fixed
objects. Never hold these objects with the hand or
allow them to be held by other people as this is
extremely dangerous!
Use for all other purposes is considered to be
improper use!
A precondition for the use of the machine is the
reading and understanding of the provisions of these
instructions.
The manufacturer cannot be held responsible for any
injury or damage arising from the non-observance of
the general, applicable Regulations or the provisions
contained in these instructions.
6. Requirements on the Operator
The operator must have carefully read the operating
instructions before using the machine.
With the exception of detailed instruction from a
qualified person, no special qualifications are
necessary for the operation of the machine.
The machine may only be operated by people who
have reached the age of 16. An exception to this is
when the use by a young person is carried out in the
course of the completion of professional training and
under the supervision of an instructor.
The use of the machine simply requires appropriate
instruction. No special training is necessary.
7. Transport and Storage
Store the machine in a clean, dry location and
protect it against unauthorized access.
8. Use of the Sand Blasting Machine
Assembly:
Use exclusively the named components in the scope
of supply.
Assemble the machine in accordance with the
illustration on Page 2. In doing so, ensure that all
connections are sealed. For this, use Teflon tape or
the gaskets supplied with the machine.
In order to test the leak-tightness of the system, we
urgently recommend the filling of the machine with
an air pressure of 5 bar (see the pressure indicator).
Thereafter, switch off the compressor. With correct
sealing, there must be no pressure loss and after
approximately 30 minutes the pressure indicator
should be still showing 5 bar.
The Assembly in Individual Steps:
Fix the pressure gauge to the suction line. Ensure that
the pressure gauge can be easily read. Then screw
the valve on to the line below. The nipple must now be
connected to the valve, after that, fit the connection in
to the line:
Both sides of the water trap must now be fitted with a
nipple. After this, fasten each of the compressed air
feed and the valve to a nipple:
Now lay the tank on a scratch-free surface with the
retaining lugs uppermost and screw the pre-
assembled water trap in to the free bore of the
suction line. Then screw the connecting tube to the
side bore of the tank.
Then align the pressure gauge and the suction line:
Now screw the nipple in to the lower tank opening and
after that, the sand regulator. To this, there follows an
additional nipple. Now screw the sand outlet to the
nipple:
Now assemble the blasting grip: Fix the nozzle of
choice in the jaws, screw on a nipple and firmly
connect the hose with the tank and the blasting grip
and secure each with the clamps. Pay special
attention to a tight fit as a pressure of up to 8.5 bar
can arise. Lack of tight fit can lead to serious injuries!
Finally, the handle and the wheel set must be fitted in
accordance with Chapter 1.
Filling with Blasting Media:
Wherever possible, only use blasting media of silicon,
carbide or aluminium oxide. Sand, due to its natural
constituents can lead to blockages. In addition, sands
wear out the machine more and are less effective in
their application.
The blasting media must be completely dry otherwise
this can also lead to blockages.
Before the filling process, disconnect the machine
from the compressed air supply and completely
relieve the pressure. Ensure that the pressure gauge
indicates 0!!
Then remove the tank cover, put the funnel in the
filling aperture and half fill the tank, maximum,
however, to ¾. The higher the humidity in the
atmosphere, the less the tank should be filled!
Close the tank after the filling.
Close the shut-off valve and open the valve after it
has been ensured that the blasting gun is locked at
the nozzle.
Then connect the machine to the compressed air
supply and switch it on.
Always wear protective clothing!
