1. Introduction

The MIVA call system is designed for use in disabled toilets. The system

is suitable for various applications where it makes sense to provide

signalling for potentially dangerous situations. The alarm tone is local

on the room Lamp and can be send to a central staff display as well. A

maximum of 8 MIVA sets can be monitored on the central staff display.

There is no need for a configuration via PC.

The complete set is delivered in a single box and contains all

components (except wiring) that are necessary for the installation of a

single toilet space.

2. Features

3. Functionality

 LED room Lamp can be connected to multiple call points and

operates as central control module

 Multiple Miva sets can be connected to a single central staff

display

 Visual and acoustic alarm signal

 Pull String and Call/Cancel unit available as “normally open” or

“normally closed” type

 According NEN 1814 standard, Pull String must be installed

such that its lower end is between 300 and 450 mm above

floor level.

 Set Complies with the NEN 1814 standard

4. Components

Room Lamp

The room lamp is installed outside

the toilet room. Upon activation of

a call, a red LED will indicate that

the person in the toilet room

needs help.

Mode 1: LED flashes at a rhythm

of 1 sec ON and 1 sec OFF, in

addition an acoustic sound is sent

every 1 sec to get attention on

the call.

Mode 2: LED is stable ON, in

addition an acoustic sound is send

every 17 sec to get attention on

the call.

Pull String switch

By activating the pull string an

alarm is generated, a

confirmation LED at the pull string

wall box is the confirmation of the

call.

This confirmation Lamp will flash

at a cadence of 1 second in Mode

1 and will Lamp steady in Mode 2.

Install the pull string between 300

and 450mm above the floor and

alongside the toilet walls.

Call and Cancel button

The call and cancel button must

be located in the room. The red

button is an extra call button and

has a confirmation LED. By

pressing the green button the call

from the room is cancelled.

Power supply

The power supply is a 24V DC

900mA adaptor.

5. Installation

5.1. Mode Selection

In the front of the room Lamp is a small selection button. By

pressing this button you toggle between Mode 1 and Mode 2.

In case of power failure the selected mode will still be active

on repowering of the unit.

5.2. Normally open or normally closed connected

The call points can be connected as a normally open or

normally closed input. For field safe reasons we advise to use

the normally closed solution.

In case of using a normally open connection the second input

must be provided with a small wire bridge.
