Thank you for choosing a Hama product.
Take your time and read the following instructions and
information completely. Please keep these instructions in a safe
place for future reference. If you sell the device, please pass
these operating instructions on to the new owner.
1. Explanation of Warning Symbols and Notes

This symbol is used to indicate safety instructions or to draw
your attention to specic hazards and risks.

This symbol is used to indicate additional information or
important notes.

3. Safety Notes
The product is intended for private, non-commercial use only.
Protect the product from dirt, moisture and overheating, and
only use it in a dry environment.
Do not drop the product and do not expose it to any major
shocks.
Do not operate the product outside the power limits given in
the specications.
Always pull directly on the plug when disconnecting the
cable, never on the cable itself.
Make sure that cables do not pose a tripping hazard or block
emergency exits.
Ensure that no electrical cables are crushed or damaged
during installation or adjusting.
Keep this product, as all electrical products, out of the reach
of children!
Do not modify the product in any way. Doing so voids the
warranty.
Keep the packaging material out of the reach of children due
to the risk of suffocation.
Dispose of packaging material immediately according to
locally applicable regulations.
Ensure that the power supply unit is suciently ventilated and
that heat can dissipate adequately.
Warning
Only connect the product to a socket that has been
approved for the device. The socket must be installed
close to the product and easily accessible.
Do not continue to operate the device if it becomes
visibly damaged.
4. Startup and Operation
Note Mains voltage 110–240 V
The power supply unit is suitable for mains voltages of
110–240 V and therefore can be used worldwide. Please
note that a country-specic adapter may be necessary.
Determine which power supply your terminal device requires.

You can nd this information on the original power supply
unit or in the operating instructions for your terminal device.
If necessary, contact the retailer of your terminal device or
the support centre of your terminal device manufacturer for
more information.
Set the voltage selection switch to the voltage required by
your terminal device. (2)
Warning
Do not use the universal notebook power supply unit if
you have any doubts as to the voltage or the required
adapter required by your terminal device.
Do not change or reset the voltage during operation
of the power supply unit in connection with a terminal
device.
Ensure that the total power consumption of the
notebook/netbook does not exceed the power supply
unit’s rated output capacity of 90 W.
Failing to observe these warnings could result in damage
to the universal notebook power supply unit as well as
the connected terminal device.
Please refer to the instructions in the operating manual of your
terminal device. Unless these illustrations explicitly inform you
otherwise, proceed as follows:
Select the correct adapter plug using the plug on the original
power supply unit. (3)
Check the mechanical compatibility between the universal
power supply unit’s adapter plug and the connecting socket
of your end device without plugging it in.
The plug should slide into the socket easily and t securely
without too much play.

Note Adapter plug
Adapter plugs that have been lost or are missing can be
obtained through our Support Hotline. Plugs that are
available will be shipped to you without charge.
Connect the correct adapter plug to the DC connection line of
the power supply. (4)
Now connect the power cable to the power supply unit.
First connect the power supply unit with the notebook/
netbook. Finally, plug the mains plug of the power cable into
the power outlet. (5)
When the power supply is active, the LED lights up to indicate
that the power supply unit is ready for operation.
The terminal device can now be used and switched on or
charged.
Warning
Do not apply force when connecting the adapter plug.
Failing to observe these warnings could result in damage
to the universal notebook power supply unit as well as
the connection socket of the terminal device.
Note
Disconnect the product from the power supply after use.
5. Care and Maintenance
Only clean this product with a slightly damp, lint-free cloth and
do not use aggressive cleaning agents.
6. Warranty Disclaimer

warranty for damage resulting from improper installation/
mounting, improper use of the product or from failure to observe
the operating instructions and/or safety notes.
