Sylvania 6427TE offers 181 channel selection, including VHF/UHF and up to 125 cable channels. The TV has a user-friendly PLL frequency synthesized electronic tuning system. 1. VIDEO (IN) jack- Connect to the video
output ,jack of a video cameFa or VCR.
NOTE: Tire AUDIO and VIDEO ,jacks on
tire front panel are given priority over those
on the Fear panel. Suppose that the connec-
tions aFe ah'eady made with the 1ear-panel
,jacks and additioually with the fFont-panel
,jacks. In this case too, the input via tire
fi'ont ones is automatically selected.
2. AUDIO L (IN) jack- Connect to the lef_
channel audio output ,jack of a video cam-
era or VCR.
NOTE: The rear-panel AUDIO L (IN) ,jack
is for mono input. Tire sound is heaFd from
both speakers. Use this jack for monaural
audio equipmeut to be hooked up.
3. AUDIO R (IN) jack- Conuect to the right

button to go back to the previously viewed
channel. For example, pFessing the CHAN-
NEL RETURN button once will change
channel display from CH 3 (preseut chan-
nel) to CH 10 (previously viewed channel),
and pressiug it a second time will retuFn
fl'om CH lO to CH 3.
12.DISPLAY button- PFeSSto display the
channel number on the screen. If you press
it again, the channel number wiii disappear.
13.SLEEP bniion- Press the SLEEP button to
display the sleep tflner and start the func-
tiou. The shut off trine can be deteFmined
by the number of times you press the but-
ton. (0, 10, 20, 30,..90, 0 miuutes)
14.GAME bniton- Press to set the Game
mode aud exteFnal input mode at the same
time. Press the GAME button agaiu to exit
this mode.
15.CHANNEL NUMBER bntions- PFeSStwo
digits to directly access the desiFed channel.
Remember to press a "0" before a single
digit channel.

higher than 99.
16.ANT(enna). IN jack- Connect to au anten-
na, cable system, OFsatellite system.
17.AC cord- Connect to a standard AC outlet
(120V/60Hz).
NOTE: UnwFap the AC cord completely

1) Slide the battery compaFtment cover back
on the remote unit.
2) lnseFt 2 "AA" penlight batteries into battery
compaFtment iu the direction as indicated
by the polarity (+ / -) markings. Batteries
installed with incorFect polarity may dam-
age the remote unit.
3) Replace the cover.
When cising an external input signal (VCR OF
camcoFdeF), connect the playeF's audio/video
output cables to the AUDIO IN/VIDEO IN
,jacks of your TV. Then press the GAME but-
ton. For details, see "USING THE GAME
BUTTON" in PICTURE ADJUSTMENT sec-
tion.
PREPARATION FOR USE

If you want to change tile language of tile on-screen menu, follow the proce-
dure below.
1) Connect tile power cord to a standard AC outlet.
Note: If some digits appear ill the corner of the screen,
press the POWER button without unplugging the power cord.
2) Press the POWER button to tunl on the TV.
3) Press the MENU button so that the menu display appears
oil tile TV screen.
4) Press the CH(annel) or button to point to "[ENG]".
5) Select "ENG(lish)", "ESP(afiol)" or "FRA(ngais)" by using
the VOL(ume) or button.
6) Press the MENU button to exit the menu.

If tile power fails or is disconnected while tile TV is powered oil, the TV will turn oil automatical-

Tile sleep timer function allows you to have the power automatically turn off
after a set time period.
1) Press tile POWER button to turn on the TV and press the SLEEP button
on tile remote control .
2) You may change tile sleep time by pressing tile SLEEP SLEEP10
button on the remote control repeatedly. The timer call be
set up to 90 minutes, 10 minutes each time tile SLEEP
button is pushed. (The timer display counts up and sleep
timer will be displayed on tile screen when you press the
SLEEP button on remote control.)
Note: When you disconnect tile unit from tile AC outlet, or if you have a power fifilure, tile
sleep time wrill be lost.
To cancel the sleep timer:

automatically after about 10 seconds if you

and VOL(ume) button so that "PIC-
TURE" is selected. Theu, press tile
CH(annel) or button repeatedly until
the display retunls to tile screen.
If you adjust any picture control after you
set the Game mode to [ONN,the Game mode
is set to [OFF] automatically.
[USING THE GAME BUTTON]
You may also set the Game mode and external
input mode at tile same time by pressing tile
GAME button on the remote control. "GAME"
appears oiltile TV screen.
To exit tile Game mode and external input
mode, press the GAME button on the remote
control again.
To cancel tile Game mode only, attjust tile
picture control. The GAME mode will be set
to [OFF] automatically as explained in the
previous section. In this case, "VIDEO"

V-CHIP reads the ratings for programming (except for news and spoils programs, unedited movies
on premium cable channels, and Emergency Broadcast System signals), then denies access to pro-
gramming if the program's rating meets or exceeds the limitations you select, lit this case, "PRO-

To block certain ratings, follow tile steps below.
Programming may be rated by tile Motion Picture Association of America (MPAA) or according
