Scale Operation Guide
DETECTO’s stainless steel model WPS12UT Marine
Wet Diaper/Chux Pads Scale is excellent for weighing
diaper fluids or blood loss from chux pads used in the
O.R. when mothers hemorrhage during labor. The scale
and stainless steel bowl can be completely submerged
underwater for easy wash-down cleaning that is
necessary in any hygienic medical environment.
Begin Weighing Operation
To weigh wet diapers or chux pads in the bowl on the
scale, you must first TARE the weight of the bowl, and
dry diaper or chux pad, so that only the net weight of the
fluid in the diaper or chux pad is displayed.
Tare Weight of Bowl, Dry Diaper or Chux Pad
1. Press the ON/OFF key to turn the scale ON.
2. Place the bowl on the scale platform, and then place the
dry diaper or chux pad in the bowl.
3. The scale display will show the weight of the bowl and
dry diaper or chux pad.
4. Press the TARE key to Zero or Tare the weight display. The
scale display will show three dashes momentarily, and then
change to show zero weight.
5. Remove the bowl and dry diaper or chux pad from the scale
platform. Note that the scale display will show a negative weight
upon removing the bowl and dry items.
Weighing Wet Diaper or Used Chux Pad
1. Place the bowl on the scale platform, and then place the
wet diaper or used chux pad in the bowl.
2. The scale display will show the weight of the fluids in the
wet diaper or used chux pad.
3. Record the weight of the fluids.
4. Remove the bowl and wet items from the scale. Again, upon
removing the bowl and wet items, the scale display will show
a negative weight.
5. Press the TARE key to return the scale to zero. The scale
display will show three dashes momentarily, and then change
to show display zero weight.
6. The scale is ready for the next weighing operation.
