User Guide
Getting started
1. Make sure both computers are on. Kodak 8000C only works with “Xray” computer, not “Server”
computer
2. Make sure area is clear when adjusting height, rotation, etc. and obtaining images
3. Perform a blank panorex to test function (can turn off x-ray emission by selecting icon on
HUD; icon currently indicates x-ray emission active)
4. Disinfect bite stick, temple rests, chin rest, and hand grips
5. Can turn on voice assistance by clicking icon on HUD (icon currently indicates off)

Put new sleeve on bite stick for each new patient
Sleeves located in white box in x-ray supply
cabinet
Disinfect bite stick between patients with surface

Make sure collimator selector is set to Panoramic

Select patient from Practice Works and launch
Kodak Digital Imaging Software as if obtaining an
intraoral radiograph
Use “Test, Test” for blank or practice
images
Click button for New Panoramic Image (indicated
by arrow)

You don’t need to change the program or
parameters, it is already set for panorex

Lower sensor block manually to obtain panorex
Left image: sensor block is lowered for panorex
Right image: sensor block is raised (clicks into
place) only for cephalometric images
Note: make sure sensor block is lowered before
resetting arm position!!!!!!!!

Re-zero the rotating arm by clicking the
Movement Reset button on the control panel or in
the Panoramic HUD on the computer (same icon
as on control panel)

Failure to reset arm will result in error in system
status window when attempting to acquire an

Patients should stand but can sit. Adjust height of
unit accordingly. Make sure patient removes
glasses, jewelry, necklaces, earrings, etc.
Position lasers as indicated. Can turn on lasers on
control panel or Pano HUD
Use lead apron that covers front and drapes flat
on shoulders. When in position, instruct patient to
keep still, hold onto the hand grips, close eyes,
swallow saliva, move tongue to roof of mouth, and
breath through their nose

Panorex takes approximately 14 seconds to
acquire. When ready, stand behind screen and
activate image acquisition by holding button down
for entire duration
Releasing button too early will result in error.
