GENERAL

This installation and maintenance instruction sheet is a

general supplement to the particular I & M sheet for the valve.

The identiﬁcation is made by preﬁx SC. Always use both I & M

sheets for installing and maintaining valve and solenoid operator.

DESCRIPTION

Series SC are waterproof solenoids with spade plug connectors.

The solenoid enclosure is epoxy resin construction.

The SC solenoid valve may be supplied as a complete unit, which

is the approved solenoid and a valve, or as a separate solenoid

operator to be assembled upon installation.

INSTALLATION

ASCO components are intended to be used only within

the technical characteristics as speciﬁed on the nameplate.

Changes to the equipment are only allowed after consulting

the manufacturer or its representative. The solenoid operator

may be mounted in any position.

CAUTION:

• Mountingofthesolenoidona valveshouldeitherbe

done by ASCO or an ASCO distributor or by authorized

personnel.

• The ambienttemperaturerangeis–40to+100 degrees

Celsius, unless otherwise stated on the nameplate.

• Donotusesolenoidasalever.

ELECTRICAL INSTALLATION

Theequipmenthasspadeplugconnectorsaccordingto3xDIN

46244andmeetsIP-65accordingtoIEC-529whenproperly

assembled. Wiring must be made by trained personnel and

comply with local and national regulations for the installation

of explosionproof equipment. Remove connector cover. Insert

wires through the cable gland and connect wires to the terminal

block. Replace connector cover and press until a ‘click’ is heard.

Tighten the central screw to speciﬁed torque to ensure proper

gasket compression.

CAUTION:

1. Turnoffelectricalpowersupplyandde-energisetheelectri-

cal circuit and voltage carrying parts before starting work.

2. Electrical load must be within the range stated on the

nameplate. Failure to stay within the electrical range of the

coil rating may result in damage to or premature failure of

the coil, and will also invalidate the approval.

PUTTING INTO SERVICE

Beforepressurisingthesystem,rstcarry-outanelectricaltest.

In case of solenoid valves, energise the coil a few times and

notice a metal click signifying the solenoid operation.

SERVICE

The solenoids are approved for continuous duty service.

To prevent the possibility of personal or property damage do

not touch the solenoid which can become hot under normal op-

eration conditions. If the solenoid valve is easily accessible, the

installer must provide protection preventing accidental contact.

SOUND EMISSION

The emission of sound depends on the application, medium

and nature of the equipment used. The exact determination of

the sound level can only be carried out by the user having the

solenoid with the valve installed in his system.

MAINTENANCE

Maintenance of ASCO products is dependent on service

conditions.Periodic cleaning is recommended, thetiming of

whichwilldependonthemediaandserviceconditions.During

servicing, components should be examined for excessive wear.

Replace the entire solenoid in case of damage. If a problem

occurs during installation/maintenance or in case of doubt please

contact ASCO or authorised representatives.

CAUTION: Solenoid must be assembled complete with its

internal parts before the coil is energized, as they form a part of

the magnetic circuit. Wrong assembly will invalidate the approval.

SOLENOID DISASSEMBLY

Disassembleinanorderlyfashion. Paycarefulattentionto

exploded views provided for identiﬁcation of parts.

1. Unscrewcentralconnectorscrewand removeconnector

assembly and connector gasket.

2. Removeretaining clip from top ofsolenoidbase sub-

assembly. CAUTION: when metal retaining clip disengages,

it can spring upwards.

3. Slipthecoiloffthesolenoidbasesub-assembly.

4. Unscrewandremovethesolenoidbasesub-assembly.

5. Allpartsarenowaccessibleforcleaningorreplacement.

SOLENOID REASSEMBLY

Reassemble in reverse order of disassembly paying careful

attention to exploded views provided for identiﬁcation and

placement of parts.

1. NOTE:Lubricateallgaskets/O-ringswithhighqualitysilicone

grease.Replacethesolenoidbasesub-assemblyandtorque

it according to torque chart.

2. Replacecoilandretainingclip.

3. Replace the connector gasket and the connector, and torque

central connector screw according to torque chart.

4. Thesolenoidcanberotated360degreestoselectthemost

favourable position for the electrical supply cable.

5. Aftermaintenance,operatethevalveafewtimestobesure

of proper operation.

INSTALLATION ELECTRIQUE

tallécorrectement.Lecâblagedoitêtreeffectuépardupersonnel

qualiﬁé et être conforme à la réglementation locale et nationale

en matière d’installation d’équipement antidéﬂagrant. Ôter le

couvercleduconnecteur.Insérerleslsparlepresse-étoupeet

connecter les ﬁls au bloc des bornes. Replacer le couvercle du

connecteuretappuyerjusqu’àcequ’un«clic»sefasseentendre.

Serrer la vis centrale selon le schéma de couple spéciﬁé aﬁn de

garantirunecompressionparfaitedujointd’étanchéité.

ATTENTION:

1. Avanttouteintervention,couperl’alimentationélectrique

pour mettre hors tension les composants.

2. Lachargeélectrique doit être comprise dans lagamme

qui ﬁgure sur la plaque signalétique. Tout manquement

au respect de la gamme électrique du classement de la

bobine risque d’endommager la bobine ou de provoquer

sa défaillance, et aussi annuler l’agrément.

MISE EN SERVICE

Avant de mettre le circuit sous pression, effectuer un essai

électrique.Danslecasd’uneélectrovanne,mettre la bobine

sous tension plusieurs fois et écouter le “clic” métallique qui

signale le fonctionnement de la tête magnétique.

FONCTIONNEMENT

Lestêtesmagnétiquessontagrééespourunemisesoustension

permanente.Pourévitertoutebrûlure,nepastoucherlatête

magnétique qui, en fonctionnement normal et en permanence

sous tension, peut atteindre une température élevée. Si l’élec-

trovanne est facilement accessible, l’installateur doit prévoir une

protection empêchant tout contact accidentel.

BRUIT DE FONCTIONNEMENT

Lebruitdefonctionnementvarieselonl’utilisation,leuideet

letypedematérielemployé.Ladéterminationexacteduniveau

sonore émis ne pourra se faire que par l’utilisateur qui a installé

la tête magnétique et la vanne sur son système.

ENTRETIEN

L’entretiennécessaireauxproduitsASCOvarieavec leurs

conditions d’utilisation. Il est souhaitable de procéder à un

nettoyage périodique dont l’intervalle varie suivant la nature du

ﬂuide, les conditions de fonctionnement et le milieu ambiant.

Lorsdel’intervention,lescomposantsdoiventêtreexaminés

pour détecter toute usure excessive. Remplacer l’ensemble de

latêtemagnétiqueencasdedommage.Encasdeproblème

lors du montage/entretien ou en cas de doute, veuillez contacter

ASCO ou ses représentants ofﬁciels.

ATTENTION:Latêtemagnétiquedoitêtreentièrementassem-

blée avec ses pièces internes avant de mettre la bobine sous

tension, car elles font partie du circuit magnétique. Un montage

incorrect entraîne l’annulation de l’agrément.

DEMONTAGE DE LA TETE MAGNETIQUE

Démonterdefaçonméthodique.surlesvuesenéclatéfournies

dans la pochette et destinées à l’identiﬁcation des pièces.

1. Dévisserlaviscentraleduconnecteuretôterlemontage

duconnecteuretlejointd’étanchéitéduconnecteur.

2. Ôterleclipdemaintiendelapartiesupérieuredusous-en-

sembledebasedelatêtemagnétique.ATTENTION:lorsque

leclipdemaintienmétalliqueestôté,ilpeutbondirversle

haut.

3. Faireglisserlabobinehorsdusous-ensembledebasede

la tête magnétique.

4. Dévisser et ôter le sous-ensembledebasedelatête

magnétique.

5. Vouspouvezdèsàprésentnettoyerouremplacertoutes

les pièces.

REMONTAGE DE LA TETE MAGNETIQUE

Remonter en sens inverse.

1. NOTE:Lubriertouslesjointsd’étanchéité/jointstoriques

avec de la graisse silicone de haute qualité. Replacer

lesous-ensembledebasedelatêtemagnétiqueet le

raccorder selon le schéma de couple.

2. Replacerlabobineetleclipdemaintien.

3. Replacerlejointd’étanchéitéduconnecteuretleconnecteur

et raccorder la vis centrale du connecteur selon le schéma

de couple.

4. Latêtemagnétiquepeut être tournée à 360degrésan

desélectionnerlapositionlaplusadéquatepourlecâble

d’alimentation électrique.

5. Aprèsl’entretien,fairefonctionnerlavannequelquesfois

aﬁn de s’assurer qu’elle s’ouvre et se ferme correctement.

BESCHREIBUNG

Bei der Baureihe SC handelt es sich um wasserdichte Magnet-

köpfemitGerätesteckdose.DasMagnetkopfgehäusebesteht

ausExpoxydharz.

DasdruckfesteMagnetventilSCistalsKompletteinheitbeste-

hendausdemzugelassenenMagnetkopfundeinemVentiloder

als separater druckfester Magnetkopf, der bei der Installation

zusammenzubauen ist, lieferbar.

EINBAU

DieASCO-Komponentendürfen nur innerhalb der auf den

Typenschildern angegebenen Daten eingesetzt werden.Ver-

änderungen an den Produkten sind nur nach Rück-sprache

mitASCOzulässig.DerMagnetkopfistsokonstruiert,daßer

injederEinbaulagefunktioniert.

ACHTUNG:

• DieMontagedesMagnetkopfsaufeinemVentilsollteentwe-

dervonASCO,einemASCO-Händlerodervonautorisiertem

Personaldurchgeführtwerden.

• Die Umgebungstemperaturbeträgt–40bis+100Grad

Celsius,außerwennaufdemTypenschild eine andere

Temperatur angegeben ist.

• DerMagnetkopfistnichtalsHebelzuverwenden.

ELEKTRISCHE INSTALLATION

DasGerätistmitFlachsteckeranschlüssennach3xDIN46244

versehen und entspricht bei korrektem Zusammenbau Schutzart

IP65nachIEC-529.DieVerdrahtungmußvongeschultemPerso-

nalinÜbereinstimmungmitdenlokalenundnationalenVorschrif-

tenfürdieInstallationvoneigensicherenGerätendurchgeführt

werden.Gerätesteckdosendeckelentfernen.Drähtedurchdie

KabelverschraubungführenundmitderKlemmenleisteverbin-

den.Gerätesteckdosendeckelwiederanbringenunddrücken,

biseinKlickenzuhörenist.ZentraleSchraubeentsprechend

denAngaben imDrehmomentdiagrammanziehen,umeinen

ordnungsgemäßenDruckaufdieDichtungzugewährleisten.

ACHTUNG:

1. VorBeginnderArbeitenistsicherzustellen,daßalleelek-

trischenLeitungenundNetzteilespannungslosgeschaltet

sind.

2. DieelektrischeBelastungmußindemaufdemTypenschild

angegebenen Bereich liegen. Wird der elektrische Bereich

derSpulenichtbeachtet,sokanndieszurBeschädigung

oderzumfrühzeitigenAusfall der Spule führen.Darüber

hinaus kann die Zulassung dadurch erlöschen.

INBETRIEBNAHME

VorDruckbeaufaufschlagungdesProduktessollteeineelektri-

sche Funktionsprüfung erfolgen: Bei Magnetventilen Spannung

anderMagnetspulemehrmalsein-undausschalten.Esmuß

einmetallischesKlickenzuhörensein.

BETRIEB

DieMagnetköpfesindfürDauerbetriebzugelassen.ZurVermei-

dungvonPersonen-undSachschädensolltejedeBerührung

der Magnetspule vermieden werden, da diese unter normalen

Betriebsbedingungen sehr heiß werdenkann. Bei leicht

zugänglichemMagnetventilsolltevomInstallateureinSchutz

vorgesehenwerden,um jegliches versehentliches Berühren

zu vermeiden.

GERÄUSCHEMISSION

DieGeräuschemissionhängtsehrstarkvomAnwendungsfall,

demMedium,mitdenendasProduktbeaufschlagtwird,undder

ArtdesverwendetenProduktesab.DieexakteMessungdes

Geräuschpegelsistnurmöglich,wennderMagnetkopfmitVentil

in der Anlage installiert ist.

WARTUNG

DieWartunghängtvondenBetriebsbedingungenab.Eswird

empfohlen,dasProduktregelmäßigzureinigen,wobeisichdie

ZeitabständenachdemMediumunddenBetriebsbedingungen

richten.Während der Wartung sollten die Komponentenauf

übermäßigenVerschleiß überprüft werden.Im Falleeiner

BeschädigungistdergesamteMagnetkopfauszutauschen.

TretenSchwierigkeitenbeiEinbau,BetrieboderWartung auf

sowie bei Unklarheiten, ist mit ASCO Rücksprache zu halten.

ACHTUNG:DerMagnetkopfmußvordemAnlegenvonSpan-

nung an die Spule komplett mit den zugehörigen internen Bautei-

len zusammengebaut werden, da diese Teil des Magnetkreises

sind.BeinichtordnungsgemäßerMontageerlischtdieZulassung.

DEMONTAGE DES MAGNETKOPFES

DasVentilmußinderangegebenenReihenfolgezerlegtwerden.

DabeisinddieTeileexaktanhanddermitgeliefertenExplosions-

zeichnungen zu identiﬁzieren.

1. MittlereSchraubederGerätesteckdoselösenundGeräte-

steckdosenbaugruppeund-dichtungentfernen.

2. KlammerhalterunganderOberseitederHaltemutter

entfernen.ACHTUNG:DieKlammerhalterung kann beim

Lösennachobenwegfedern.

3. Spule von der Haltemutter abziehen.

4. Haltemutterlosschraubenundentfernen.

5. NunsindalleTeile,diegereinigtoderausgetauschtwerden

müssen,leichtzugänglich.

WIEDERZUSAMMENBAU DES MAGNETKOPFES

VentilinderumgekehrtenReihenfolgewiebeiderDemontage

zusammenbauen.DabeisinddieTeileanhandderExplosions-

zeichnungen zu identiﬁzieren und anzuordnen.

1. HINWEIS:AlleDichtungen/Dichtungsringesindmithoch-

wertigem Silikonfett zu schmieren. Haltemutter wieder

anbringenundentsprechenddenAngabenimDrehmoment-

diagramm anziehen.

2. SpuleundKlammerhalterungwiederanbringen.

3. Steckdosendichtung und Gerätesteckdose wieder mon-

tierenundmittlereSchraubederGerätesteckdoseentspre-

chenddenAngabenimDrehmomentdiagrammanziehen.

4. DerMagnetkopfistum360Graddrehbar, so daß die

günstigstePositionfürdasStromversorgungskabelgewählt

werden kann.

5. NachderWartungVentilmehrmalsbetätigen,umsicher-

zustellen,daßesordnungsgemäßfunktioniert.

tipoespiga.Lacajadelsolenoideestáconstruidaconresina.

LaválvuladelsolenoideSCpuede suministrarsecomouna

unidad completa, formada por el solenoide homologado y una

válvulaocomounoperadorsolenoideseparadoquesemontará

durantelainstalación.

INSTALACION

PRECAUCION:

• Elmontajedelsolenoideenunaválvuladebeserhechopor

ASCO, un distribuidor ASCO o personal autorizado.

• Elrangodetemperaturaambientees–40a+100grados

Celsius, a menos que se especiﬁque otra cosa en la placa

• Noutiliceelsolenoidecomopalanca.

INSTALACIÓN ELÉCTRICA

Elcableadodeberealizarseporpersonalcapacitadoycumplir

lasnormativasnacionalesylocalesdeinstalacióndeequipos

antideﬂagrantes. Retire la cubierta del conector. Inserte los

cables a través del prensaestopas de cables y conecte los cables

albloqueterminal.Vuelva a colocar la cubierta del conector

ypresione hastaoirun‘clic’.Apriete eltornillocentralsegún

elcuadrode apriete paraaseguraruna correctacompresión

delaguarnición.

PRECAUCION:

1. Antesdecomenzareltrabajo,desconecteelsuministrode

energíaeléctricaydesenergiceelcircuitoelectrónicoylos

elementosportadoresdetensión.

2. Lacargaeléctricadebeestardentrodelrangoestablecido

en la placa de características. Si se sale del rango eléctrico

nominal de la bobina se pueden producir daños o fallos

prematurosenlabobina,invalidandoasílacerticación.

PUESTA EN MARCHA

Se debe efectuar una prueba eléctrica antes de someter a pre-

siónelsistema.Enelcasodelasválvulassolenoides,sedebe

energizar varias veces la bobina y comprobar que se produce

unsonidometálicoqueindicaelfuncionamientodelsolenoide.

SERVICIO

Lossolenoidesestánhomologadosparaunfuncionamiento

en servicio continuado. Con el ﬁn de evitar la posibilidad de

daños personales o materiales no se debe tocar el solenoide,

ya que puede haberse calentado en condiciones normales de

trabajo.Silaelectroválvulaesdefácilacceso,elinstaladordebe

preverunaprotecciónqueimpidacualquiercontactoaccidental.

EMISION DE RUIDOS

Laemisiónderuidosdependedelaaplicación,medioynatu-

ralezadelequipoutilizado.Ladeterminaciónexactadelnivel

desonidosólopuedeserrealizadaporelusuario,teniendoel

solenoideconlaválvulainstaladosensusistema.

MANTENIMIENTO

ElmantenimientodelosproductosASCO  depende de las

condicionesdeservicio.Serecomiendaunalimpiezaperiódi-

ca, dependiendo de las condiciones del medio y del servicio.

Duranteelservicio,loscomponentesdebenserexaminados

por si hubiera desgastes excesivos. Sustituya el solenoide

completo en caso de fallo. Si ocurriera un problema durante

lainstalación/mantenimientooencasodedudacontactarcon

ASCO o representantes autorizados.

PRECAUCION:Elsolenoidedebesermontadoporcompleto

con sus piezas internas antes de que la bobina sea energizada,

yaqueformapartedelcircuitomagnético.Unmontajeincorrecto

invalidarálacerticación.

DESMONTAJE DEL SOLENOIDE

Desmontelaválvulaordenadamente.Presteespecialatención

a las vistas ampliadas que se suministran para identiﬁcar

las partes.

1. Retireeltornillo del conector central y retire el conjuno

conectorylaguarnicióndelconector.

2. Retierelclipdesujecióndelapartesuperiordelabase

auxiliardelsolenoide.PRECAUCION:aldesengancharse

elclipdesujeciónmetálico,éstepuedesaltarhaciaarriba.

3. Suelte la bobina de la base auxiliar del solenoide.

4. Desatornilleyretirelabaseauxiliardelsolenoide.

5. Ahoratendráaccesoatodaslaspiezasparasulimpiezao

sustitución.

REINSTALACIÓN DEL SOLENOIDE

Vuelvaamontarlaválvulaenelordeninversodedesmontaje

prestandoespecialatenciónalasvistasampliadassuministra-

das para identiﬁcar e instalar las partes.

1. NOTA:Lubriquetodaslasguarniciones/juntascongrasade

siliconadebuenacalidad.Vuelvaacolocarlabaseauxiliar

del solenoide y apriete de acuerdo con el cuadro de apriete.

2. Vuelvaacolocarlabobinayelclipdesujeción.

3. Vuelvaacolocarlaguarnicióndelconectoryelconector,

yaprieteeltornillodelconectorcentralsegúnelcuadrode

apriete.

4. Elsolenoidepuedegirar360 gradosparaseleccionarla

posiciónmásfavorablepara el cable de suministro de

energía.

5. Despuésderealizadoelmantenimiento,operelaválvula

unas cuantas veces para asegurarse de su correcto fun-

cionamiento.
