INSTALLATION
RECOMMENDATIONS
It is important to follow current legal regu-
lation specifications for installation and use
of this heater. We recommend that you
consult an authorized technician. The fol-
lowing are conditions required for use of
this heater:
There must be a minimum room volume
of 8m
3
and existing furniture a maximum
of 2m
3
There must be a window or door that
opens to the exterior or to an outside pa-
tio with a minimum width of 2m.
The following are clearances to combus-
tibles for the heater:
Left and right sides 8" 20.3 cm
Floor 0" 0 cm
Back 0" 0 cm
Top 36" 91.5 cm
CONNECTING TO GAS
SUPPLY
Before connecting your heater to the pro-
pane/LP supply tank, make sure you have
the following items. They are not provided
with your heater:
Propane/LP 20 lb. supply tank (only from
an official distributor)
One standardized specifications pressure
regulator
One
3
/8" (9.52 mm) standard propane/LP
gas flexible tube 1
1
/2 ft.(45.72 cm) long
(NOM GDL003)
Two screw down collar clips for flexible
tube
Contact your gas distributor to identify these
accessories.
HEATER
ASSEMBLY
1. Remove heater from packaging.
2. Connect flexible tubing (not included)
to gas inlet coupling of heater and gas
regulator (not included). Use screw
down collar clips (not included) to en-
sure a tight fit.
4. Place propane/LP supply tank on the
base of the cabinet, and fit the regula-
tor to tank.
4. Open regulator valve.
5. Check joints for leaks. Apply mixture
of liquid soap and water to gas joints
with a small paintbrush. Bubbles form-
ing show a leak.
6. Correct all leaks at once.
7. Attach tank restraint strap to heater
base by sliding tabs on strap into holes
on heater cabinet.
Note:
When changing propane/LP tank,
make sure you are in a nonflammable envi-
ronment. There should be no exposed flames,
or anything that could ignite the gas.
This heater is equipped with a safety device
that will extinguish the pilot flame and all
heating plaques if ventilation is insufficient.
This heater works well to heat small areas,
however, the flame may go out if ventilation
is insufficient. If this happens, ventilate the
room by opening a door or window before
trying to reignite heater.

while gas is flowing, regardless of control
knob position.
TO TURN OFF HEATER
1. Turn the control knob clockwise to
the Pilot position.
2. Fully close the valve on the propane/
LP supply tank by turning clockwise
. The pilot flame may continue
to burn for a few seconds until re-

IGNITION
INSTRUCTIONS
IMPORTANT:
Before using heater for
the first time or after long periods of non-
use, we recommend checking the knob
for proper operation at all settings with-
out gas flow (regulator fully closed) to
make sure it works properly.
This heater has three settings, low (|),
high (|||), and medium (||) as shown in
Figure 3.
STOP! Before igniting heater, read all
safety recommendations completely and
follow all assembly instructions carefully.
1. Open regulator valve on propane/LP
supply tank by turning counterclock-
wise.
2. Turn control knob clockwise to the
PILOT position (see Figure 4).
3. Wait 30 seconds to allow tubing to
fill and heater to stabilize.
4. Smell for gas, including near the
floor and near all connections in the
rear of the cabinet.
If you smell gas, STOP! DO NOT
attempt to ignite heater. Consult
the safety procedures for what to
do when you smell gas.
If you don’t smell gas, proceed to
the next step.
5. Press in control knob and turn coun-
terclockwise
toward low (|). This
will cause the piezo igniter to spark
and light the pilot gas. Immediately
return the knob to the Pilot position
while keeping the control knob
pressed in for five (5) seconds. (DO
NOT keep the control knob at the low
position until the pilot stays lit).
6. Release downward pressure on con-
trol knob making sure it is in the Pi-
lot position. If necessary, repeat steps
5 and 6 until the pilot stays lit. If the
heater is cold, or a new propane/LP
gas supply tank has been installed,
this sequence may need to be repeated
several times to keep the pilot lit.

INFRARED PROPANE/LP GAS HEATER
TROUBLESHOOTING
PROBLEM
Heater does not ignite
Gas tank has been replaced and heater
will still not ignite
Pilot flame goes out
POSSIBLE CAUSE
1. No gas in tank
2. Propane/LP supply tank valve is not fully
open
3. Installation and/or assembly instructions
have not been followed correctly
1. There is air in gas tank
2. Gas tank has been exposed to low exte-
rior temperatures
1. If it goes out after completing the ignition
instructions, insufficient time has been
given for pilot flame and burner to ignite
2. No gas in tank
3. If it goes out after 30 minutes, it is signal-
ling a poorly ventilated atmosphere
4. If it goes out before 30 minutes, your
heater may be exposed to drafty conditions
REMEDY
1. Fill or replace gas tank
2. Open propane/LP supply tank valve fully
3. Read through installation and/or assembly
instructions and correct any problems
1. Allow a longer start-up time prior to
ignition. Allow sufficient time until the
pilot flame and burner ignite. Switch to
maximum heat setting
2. Apply hot wet towels to upper part of gas
tank to restore normal exit of gas
1. Repeat ignition instructions
2. Fill or replace gas tank
3. Open a door or window to create more
ventilation
4. Correct drafty conditions
All heaters are checked for quality by trained staff before leaving the factory. If problems
occur, please contact our Technical Service Department.
If problems occur or spare parts are
needed, contact our Technical Service
Department. See Troubleshooting, page
4, before contacting Technical Services.
Maintenance must be performed by a
qualified service technician.
Make sure the pilot light is stable.
Check flexible gas tubing periodically. If
tubing looks damaged or worn, replace by
following instructions in Heater Assem-
bly on page 2. Be sure to completely shut
off gas flow before replacing tubing.
Heater should be cleaned with the propane/
LP supply tnak valve completely closed.
Allow the heater to cool before cleaning.
Use a nonabrasive cleaning product.
We recommend that you protect your
heater when not in use by covering it with
a cloth or plastic cover and storing it in a
dry place. This will keep dust, lint, pet
hair, and other particles from being
trapped in the heating elements.
MAINTENANCE
WARNING: Turn off heater
and let cool before cleaning.
