1. Safety Symbol Definitions
Warning! Watch Out! There are possible hazards as
shown in the adjoining symbols.
Have only trained and qualified persons install, operate,
or service this unit. Call your distributor if you do not
understand the directions. For WELDING SAFETY and
EMF information, read power source Manual.
Beware of electric shock from welding electrode or
wiring. Touching the electrode while in contact with the
work or ground can cause electric shock. Always wear
dry gloves. Keep all panels and covers closed.
Cylinders contain gas under high pressure and can ex-
plode if damaged. Never let a welding electrode touch
any cylinder. Always secure cylinder to running gear,
wall, or other stationary support.
Hot parts can cause burns. Welding makes parts very
hot let them cool before touching.
Wear safety glasses with side shields.
The RFCS (Remote Foot Control Switch) is equipped with a 14-pin plug for
connecting to the welding power source.

Press pedal lightly to turn weld
output and gas flow on. Press
pedal further to increase weld
output. Release pedal to turn off
weld output and gas flow.

Turn Off welding power source.
1 Welding Power Source
2 Volt Sense Cable
Connect plug on end of volt sense
cable to volt sense receptacle on
front of welding power source.
3 Interconnect Cable
Connect 72-pin connector to I/O
receptacle RC72 on rear of power
source. Connect 10-pin connector
into wirefeed receptacle RC8 on
rear of power source.
4 Negative () Weld Cable
5 Positive (+) Weld Cable
6 Workpiece
7 14-Pin Foot Control Cable
8 Foot Control
Insert plug into matching 14-socket
receptacle on interconnect cable.
Tighten collar.
9 TIG Torch
10 Gas Hose
11 Gas Cylinder

C. Adjusting Potentiometer Timing
Disconnect foot control from
welding power source/generator.
Turn unit upside down, and remove
bottom plate.

2 Gear
Turn gear on potentiometer shaft
counterclockwise as far as possible.
Pull drive belt tight and mesh belt
teeth with gear teeth.
Connect free end of small spring
into end of drive belt.
Reinstall bottom plate

D. Changing Cord Location
Disconnect foot control from
welding power source/generator.
1 Bottom Plate
Turn unit upside down, and remove
bottom plate.
Remove screw that holds cord in
its factory installed location.
2 Cord Slots
Position cord in desired slot.
Slide strain relief down cord and
into slot to protect cord. Secure
cord with screw in the same
manner in which it came from the
factory.
Reinstall bottom plate
