Put the motorcycle on a workstand so that
the rear wheel barely touches the ground.
Remove the seat and side covers. Loosen the
gas tank to reach the upper shock absorber
attachment.

Loosen the bolt that connects the shock
links, the lower shock mounting bolt, lift the
rear wheel and remove the original shock
absorber.
MOUNTING INSTRUCTIONS
Warning!
It is advisable to have an Öhlins dealer install the shock
absorber/front fork/steering damper.
Warning!
If working on a raised vehicle, ensure it is securely
supported so that it will not tip.
Note!
Before mounting this product clean the vehicle
thoroughly.
Note!

Service Manual for vehicle specic procedures and

Guide the hydraulic pre-load adjuster and the
gas reservoir out on the left side of the bike.
Mount the upper and lower attachment bolts
and the linkage bolt.

Install the reservoir with mounting rubbers and
hose clamps provided.

Install the hydraulic pre-load adjuster at the
silencer bracket. Remove one of the washers
so that the nut locks. Fasten the hoses with
the tie raps provided.

Reinstall the side covers and the seat.
Note!
Lower the vehicle so that the suspension is slightly
compressed before tightening the screws.
Caution!
Ensure that all screws are tightened to the correct
torque and that nothing fouls or restricts movement of
the shock absorber/front fork/steering damper when the
suspension is fully compressed or extended.
