1. RemovethefootbyturningtheGatewayupsidedownandremo vingthesingle

2. Slidethefoottowardth efrontoftheGatewayandpullthefootfromtheholes.
Youmayneedtowigglethefootslightly.
3. Youmayusethewallmountbracketas a templateforpositioningtheGatew ay.
4. Markthemounting
holes,thenremove thewallmountbracketfromthewall.
5. Drillholesforthe screwanchors.
6. Insertthescrewsinthe sc rewanch or s , theninsert the scre wanc h o rs in the
holes.Leave screwsextendedabout0.2in ches fromthewall.
7. Verifythescrewsarepositionedcorrectlyby
placingthewallbracketonthe
screws.Re movethewallbracketfro mthewall.

ConnectingyourGatewayand accessing itswebbasedGraphicalUserInterface(GUI)are
bothsimpleprocedures.AccessingtheGUImayvaryslightly,dependingonyourdevice’s
operatingsystemandwebbrowser.
SettingUpyourGateway
There are threebasic ste pstosettingupyourGateway:

Beforeyoubegin,ifyou arereplacinganexistingGateway,disconnectit.Removeallold
Gatewaycompon e n t s ,including

Gateway.
Step1:Connect yourGateway
1. RemoveyourGateway,Et hernetcables,and poweradapterfromthebox.
2. LocateyourhighspeedIn ternet(WA N)outlet. Thiswouldbethewalljack
installedpreviouslybyVerizon.NotethetypeofjackmaybeeitherEthernet or
coaxial.
3. ConnectyourGatewaytotheInternet(WAN).

usingthewirelessnetworkname(ESSID)shownonthesticker locatedontheside of
yourGateway.

Ifyouhaveanold

buttonbelowtheLockicon.Th is allowsyoutochange the se cu ritytypetothe
backwardscomp atibleth eolde r,less secureWPA 2/WPAmi xedmodeorWEP
encryption,oryoucandisablewirelesssecurityentirelybytogglingtheWEP

WARNING:WEPprovidesalowlevelofsecurity andisnotrecommended.The
WEPse curitysettingwil ldropyo ur Gateway’swirelessspeedperformancefrom
amaximumdatarateof450Mbpstoamaximumdata
rateof54Mbps.

Gatewaycreatesasecurewirelessnetwork.
Inmostcases,thison lyrequiresthepressingof afewbuttonsoneon your
Gatewayand
oneonthewirelessclient.Thiscou l d beeitherabuiltinbuttonorone
onaco mpati b l e wirelessadap t e r /c a rd,ora vi r t ual buttoninsoftware.Once
completed,thisallowswirelessclientstojoinyourwire lessnetwork.
