3. Youmayusethewallmountbracketas a templateforpositioningtheGatew ay.

4. Markthemounting

holes,thenremove thewallmountbracketfromthewall.

5. Drillholesforthe screwanchors.

6. Insertthescrewsinthe sc rewanch or s , theninsert the scre wanc h o rs in the

holes.Leave screwsextendedabout0.2in ches fromthewall.

7. Verifythescrewsarepositionedcorrectlyby

placingthewallbracketonthe

screws.Re movethewallbracketfro mthewall.



Chapter2 ConnectingyourGateway

ConnectingyourGatewayand accessing itsweb‐basedGraphicalUserInterface(GUI)are

bothsimpleprocedures.AccessingtheGUImayvaryslightly,dependingonyourdevice’s

operatingsystemandwebbrowser.

SettingUpyourGateway

There are threebasic ste pstosettingupyourGateway:

Beforeyoubegin,ifyou arereplacinganexistingGateway,disconnectit.Removeallold 

Step1:Connect yourGateway

1. RemoveyourGateway,Et hernetcables,and poweradapterfromthebox.

2. Locateyourhigh‐speedIn ternet(WA N)outlet. Thiswouldbethewalljack

installedpreviouslybyVerizon.NotethetypeofjackmaybeeitherEthernet or

coaxial.

3. ConnectyourGatewaytotheInternet(WAN).

Ifyouhaveanold

buttonbelowtheLockicon.Th is allowsyoutochange the se cu ritytypetothe

backwards‐comp atibleth eolde r,less secureWPA 2/WPAmi xedmodeorWEP

encryption,oryoucandisablewirelesssecurityentirelybytogglingtheWEP

optionon, thenoff.

WARNING:WEPprovidesalowlevelofsecurity andisnotrecommended.The
