Amaryllis Bulb
GROWING INSTRUCTIONS
Fill a planter of your choice approximately 3/4 of the way full with growing medium such as potting soil. Place the bulb in the
growing medium with the tip facing up. Add additional growing medium around the bulb to secure. Ensure that the neck of the
bulb remains just above the top of the growing medium. Approximately 1/3 to 1/4 of the bulb should be exposed. Keep the
growing medium moist, not wet. Keep the planter at a minimum temperature of 65-70° F in a bright room where the bulb will
flower. As the stems grow, change the direction of the planter occasionally to keep the stems from leaning towards the light. It may
be necessary to support the stems and flowers so the plant will not topple. Amaryllis will be in full bloom approximately 4-8 weeks
after they are planted.
Growth Stages:
Weeks 1-2: Stem and foliage growth begins and flower buds begin to form.
Weeks 3-4: Stems and foliage start to elongate and grow up to 6-10" tall.
Weeks 5-6: Growth continues up to 10-14" tall and flower buds begin to open; 4 flowers typically bloom atop each stem.
