product. Your NS-CLHD01 represents the state of the art in

HD Radio™ design and is designed for reliable and trouble-free

performance.

Important safety instructions

5 Do not use this apparatus near water.

6 Clean only with dry cloth.

7 Do not block any ventilation openings. Install in

accordance with the manufacturer's instructions.

8 Do not install near any heat sources such as radiators,

heat registers, stoves, or other apparatus (including

amplifiers) that produce heat.

9 Protect the power cord from being walked on or

pinched particularly at plugs, convenience receptacles,

and the point where they exit from the apparatus.

10 Only use attachments/accessories specified by the

manufacturer.

11 Refer all servicing to qualified service personnel.

Servicing is required when the apparatus has been

damaged in any way, such as power-supply cord or plug

is damaged, liquid has been spilled or objects have

fallen into the apparatus, the apparatus has been

exposed to rain or moisture, does not operate normally,

or has been dropped.

12 To reduce the risk of fire or electric shock, do not expose

this device to rain, moisture, dripping, or splashing, and

no objects filled with liquids, such as vases, shall be

placed on it.

Additional safety information

• Do not leave your radio in temperatures above 104°F

(40°C), such as in a sauna or a parked car.

• Using earphones or headphones for an extended time

may cause serious damage to your hearing. If you are

exposed to sound louder than 85dB for extended time,

you may adversely affect your hearing. The louder the

sound is, the more seriously damaged your hearing may

be (an ordinary conversation is between 50dB to 60dB

and road noise is approximately 80dB).

• You are strongly advised to set the volume level to

medium (the medium level is usually less than 2/3 of the

maximum).

• If you hear a ringing in your ear(s), lower the volume or

stop using the earphones or headphones.

• Do not place your radio near magnetic objects.

3 MENU Press to open or close the menu system. In the

menu system, press to close a sub-menu.

4 SEL Press to select menu options or save the settings.

5SEEK /

SEEK

In radio mode, press SEEK to go to the next lower or

higher station. For more information, see “Manually

tuning to a frequency” on page 30.

In menu mode, press to scroll down or up.

6 DISP Press to switch between PG (Program Guide) mode

and AE (Artist Experience) mode in HD Radio mode.

For more information, see "Viewing the program

guide (PG) in HD Radio mode" on page 32.

7 B) In HD Radio mode, press to bookmark the current

audio selection.

In menu mode, press to delete a bookmark.

8 CH /CH Press to tune to the next lower or higher frequency.

In time and alarm set mode , press to adjust the

hours up or down.

9 PS /PS Press to go to the next lower or higher preset

station.

Press and hold PS to set a preset. Press and hold

PS to clear a preset. For more information, see

“Setting a preset station

” on page 31.

In time and alarm set mode , press to adjust the

minutes up or down.

10 Reset If your radio stops responding to button presses,

press this button to reset your radio.

1 (power) Press to turn your radio on or off. For more

information, see “Turning your radio on or off

In clock mode, press and hold SEL + Power together

to switch between normal mode and accessible

mode for visually impaired users.

2 SRC Press repeatedly to cycle through the available

sound sources (AM>FM>AUX-IN).

3 AL1/AL2 In clock mode, press to set Alarm 1 or 2. Press and

hold to open the Alarm Set menu. For more

information, see "Setting the alarm" on page 18.

4VOL /

VOL

Press to lower or raise the volume.

5 SNOOZE Press to turn off the alarm temporarily for a

designated interval. See “Setting the alarm” on page

18.

Setting up your radio

Installing the batteries

To install the batteries:

1

Open the battery compartment on the bottom of your

radio.

2 Place four AA size alkaline batteries (not included) in the

battery compartment. Make sure to match the + and -

polarity on the batterise to the + and - signs in the

battery compartment.

3 Close the battery compartment until it clicks into place

Note

The batteries will keep your clock running in case

of a power outage.

Using the clock and alarm

Setting the time

To set the time:

Press MENU to enter menu mode. The Main menu

opens.

2 Press SEEK or SEEK to select Time Set, then press

SEL. The Time menu opens.

SEL.

4 Press CH or CH to set the hours.

5 Press PS or PS to set the minutes.

6 Press SEL to save the current time and return to the Time

menu.

7 Press MENU repeatedly to return to radio mode.

Setting the Hour Format

To set the hour format:

2 Press SEEK or SEEK to select Time Set, then press

SEL.

3 Press SEEK or SEEK to select Hour Format, then

press SEL. The Hour Format menu opens.

4 Press SEEK or SEEK to select the hour format you

want, then press SEL to save the hour format and return

to the time menu..

5 Press MENU repeatedly to return to radio mode.

Setting the alarm

Your clock radio supports dual alarms. The alarms can be set up

separately and the alarms can be set up in clock mode.

To set the alarm time:

Press and hold AL1 or AL2 to open the alarm set menu

for the alarm of your choice.

2 Press SEEK or SEEK to select Time Set, then press

SEL. The Time Set screen opens.

3 Press CH or CH to set the hours.

4 Press PS or PS to set the minutes, then press SEL

to save the alarm time and return to alarm set menu.

5 Press AL1 or AL2 to return to clock mode.

To set the Volume Snooze:

1

Press and hold AL1 or AL2 to open the alarm set menu

for the alarm of your choice.

2 Press SEEK or SEEK to select Volume Snooze,

then press SEL. The Volume/Snooze Set screen opens.

3 Press SEEK or SEEK to select the Volume.

4 Press CH or CH to set the volume, then press SEL to

save the volume level and return to the alarm set menu.

5 Press SEEK or SEEK to select Snooze.

6 Press CH or CH to set the snooze duration (0,

5 min, 15 min, 30 min), then press SEL to save the

snooze duration and return to the alarm set menu.

7 Press AL1 or AL2 to return to clock mode.

Setting the alarm source

To set the alarm source:

Press and hold AL1 or AL2 to open the alarm set menu

for the alarm of your choice.

2 Press SEEK or SEEK to select Source Select, then

press SEL. The Source Select screen opens.

3 Press SEEK or SEEK to select AM, FM, or Tone,

then press SEL to save the alarm source and return to

the alarm set menu screen.

4 Press AL1 or AL2 to return to clock mode.
