Carefully read this manual before using this appliance.
Ensure that you know how the appliance functions and how to operate it.
Maintain the appliance in accordance with the instructions to ensure that it functions properly.
Keep this manual with the appliance. If the appliance is to be used by a third party, this
instruction manual must be supplied with it.
The safety instructions do not by themselves eliminate any danger completely and proper
accident prevention measures must always be used.
No liability can be accepted for any damage caused by non-compliance with these instructions
or any other improper use or mishandling.
Do not use this appliance if it has been dropped or damaged in any way, or if the supply cord is
damaged.
This appliance is intended to be used in household and similar applications such as
staff kitchen areas in shops, offices and other working environments
farm houses
by clients in hotels, motels and other residential type environments
bed and breakfast type environments.

GENERAL AND ELECTRICAL SAFETY
Do not use this appliance for any use other than its intended purpose
When using electric appliances always observe safety regulations where applicable to reduce
the risk of fire, electric shock and personal injury. Always check that the power supply
corresponds to the voltage on the rating plate. Always unplug the appliance when not in use.
Supply Cord and Plug
Always unplug from mains supply when not in use. Do not abuse or damage the power cord. If
the supply cord is damaged, it must be replaced by the manufacturer or its service agent or a
similarly qualified person in order to avoid a hazard. Do not let the supply cord touch hot
surfaces.
Children and Infirm Persons
This appliance is not intended for use by persons (including children) with reduced physical,
sensory or mental capabilities, or lack of experience and knowledge, unless they have been
given supervision or instruction concerning use of the appliance by a person responsible for
their safety. Children must be supervised to ensure they do not play with the appliance.
Water
Do not immerse appliance in water. Do not immerse any part of this appliance or supply cord in
water. Do not use with wet hands or use in damp situations.
Use and Environment
Do not use outdoors. Do not use directly below a socket outlet. Do not leave the appliance
unattended whilst in operation. This appliance is not intended to be operated by means of an
external timer or separate remote-control system. Do not use this appliance for anything other
than its intended use.
Burns Risk
The temperature of accessible surfaces may be high when the appliance is operating. Do not
touch hot surfaces. Boiling water and hot steam can cause serious burns, take care when
handling and removing hot components, use oven gloves or a tea towel to avoid burns from hot
steam. Only use the appliance on a stable, level, heat-resistant surface.
Earth Safety
This appliance must be earthed. Only connect to a suitably earthed 230V ~ 50Hz supply socket.
Damaged or Dropped
Always inspect your appliance before use. Check parts are correctly attached. Do not use this
appliance if it has been damaged, dropped, left outdoors or dropped in water. Return it to an
authorised service dealer for examination and repair.
OPERATION
Before First Use
Remove any labels or stickers from appliance. Thoroughly wash cooking pot and lid in warm,
soapy water before first use then rinse and dry carefully.
Keep Warm Function
When your rice cooker is plugged in to a power socket it will be in keep warm function. The
keep warm feature should be used to keep the cooked rice warm until serving. Using this
feature for more than 12 hours will cause discoloration and odour and should be avoided. Rice
is best consumed soon after it is cooked. Never leave the rice spoon or other utensil in the
cooker while using the keep warm function.
Using Your Rice Cooker
1. Place the unit on a flat level surface. Do not operate on an inclined surface.
2. Measure rice with the included measuring cup. One cup of uncooked rice will make
approximately 2 cups of cooked rice.
3. Wash the rice in a separate bowl until water is relatively clear.
4. Place the washed rice in the cooking pot and add water. Add 1 cup of water for each cup of
uncooked rice then add another ½ cup of water, e.g. 2 cups rice 2½ cups water, 3 cups rice
3½ cups water etc. NOTE: Different kinds of rice absorb water at different rates. The exact
proportions of rice and water change with the type of rice to be cooked.
5. Dry the cooking pot exterior and place gently in the body, rotating it once in position to be
sure the rice pot is completely in contact with the heating element. Close the cover.
6. With the cooking pot in position and cover closed, plug the cord into a suitable power supply
of 220-240V AC 50Hz. NOTE: The cooker will not turn on unless the cooking pot is in place.
Do not plug in until ready to cook.
7. To start the rice cooker, press the “ON/OFF” switch on the front control panel. The red
“COOK” light will come on. To ensure evenly cooked rice stir rice at least twice during
cooking cycle.
8. When your rice is cooked, the cooker will automatically switch off and the keep warm light
will come on indicating it the keep warm function will continue to keep the rice warm.
NOTE: The cookers keep warm function will remain ON unless unplugged. Always unplug
after use.
9. Leave the rice covered for 6-8 minutes to steam the rice. Keep the lid in place after serving
to prevent your rice from drying out or discolouring.
Reheating Cold Rice
To reheat cold, previously cooked rice, add about ¼ cup (4 tablespoon) of cold water per cup
of cooked rice, stir to mix, then press the “ON/OFF” switch. DO NOT use the keep warm
function to reheat cold rice. Tip: Leftover rice is excellent for making fried rice.
MAINTENANCE
Regular maintenance of your appliance will keep it safe and in proper operational order.
Before Cleaning
When not in use or before cleaning, always disconnect the appliance from the mains supply.
ALWAYS ENSURE THE APPLIANCE HAS COOLED COMPLETELY BEFORE CLEANING.
DO NOT IMMERSE THE BASE OF THE APPLIANCE OR ITS SUPPLY CORD IN WATER.
Cleaning
Wash cooking pot and lid in warm, soapy water then rinse and dry all parts.
Regularly clean the outside of the appliance with a soft damp cloth and dry with a dry towel.
CAUTION: To prevent damage to the appliance do not use harsh solvents, alkaline cleaning
agents, abrasive cleansers or scouring agents of any kind when cleaning.
Grains of rice or other foreign matter may become stuck to the heating plate. These must be
removed to prevent uneven cooking and unpleasant odors. Use a suitable metal utensil to
carefully scrape clean. Afterwards, it may be necessary to use steel wool to polish the area to
insure good contact between the heating element and bottom of cooking pot.
Damage Check
Always check that the appliance is in good working order and that all removable parts are
secure. Check the power supply cord and plug regularly for cuts or damage.
Store in a Safe Place
When not in use store your appliance and all its accessories and instruction manual in a safe
and dry place.
