INSTALLATION PROCEDURE
Install the air conditioner as follow:
INDOOR UNIT INSTALLATION
The piping can be connected in the ve directions indi-
cated by 1,2,3,4, and 5 shown below. When the piping
is connected in direction 2 and 5, cut along the piping
groove in the side of the front cabinet with a hacksaw.
When connecting the piping in direction 3, cut a notch in
the thin wall at the bottom of the front cabinet.
2. CUTTING THE HOLE IN THE WALL FOR THE
CONNECTING PIPING
(1) Cut a 80 mm. diameter hole in the wall at the position
shown below.
(2) When cutting the wall hole at the inside of the installa
tion frame, cut the hole at least 10 mm. below or more.
(3) Cut the hole so that the outside end is lower than (5 to
10 mm.) the inside end.
(4) Always align the center of the wall hole. If misaligned,
water leakage will occur.
(5) Cut the wall pipe to match the wall thickness and stick
the pipe through the hole.
(6) For 5 left piping and 2 right piping, cut the hole a little
lower so that drain water will  ow freely.
If the wall pipe is not used, the cord intercon-
necting the indoor and outdoor units may touch
metal and cause electric leakage.
Install the wall hook bracket horizontally and
perpendicularly.
3. FORMING THE DRAIN HOSE AND PIPE
(1) Do not remove the are nut from the indoor unit pipe
until immediately before connecting the connection
pipe.
(2) To prevent breaking of the pipe, avoid sharp bends.
Bend the pipe with a radius of curvature of 70 mm.
Or over.
(3) If the pipe is bent repeatedly at the same place, it will
break.
1. INSTALLING THE WALL HOOK BRACKET
(1) Install the wall hook bracket so that it is correctly
positioned horizontally and vertically. If the wall hook
bracket is tilts, water will drip to the  oor.
(2) Install the wall hook bracket so that it is strong
enough to withstand the weight of the indoor unit.
(3) Fasten the wall hook bracket to the wall with 6 or
more screws through the holes near the outer edge
of the bracket.
- Check that there is no rattle at the wall hook brac-
ket.
3- INDOOR UNIT INSTALLATION
7
ENGLISH
- Install the indoor Unit piping in the direction of the wall
hole and bind the drain hose and pipe together with
vinyl tape.
- Install the piping so that the drain hose is at the
bottom.
- Perform “INDOOR UNIT WIRING” (in separated sheet)
before performing this piping.
- Wrap the pipes of the indoor unit that are visible from
the outdoor with decorative tape.
- After passing the indoor piping and drain hose through
the wall hole, hang the indoor unit on the hooks of the
wall hook bracket.
4. INSTALLING THE DRAIN HOSE
- Insert the drain hose into the drain port.
- For left piping and left rear piping, align the marks n the
wall hook bracket and shape the connection pipe.
- Bend the connection piping at a bend radius of 70 mm.
or more and install no more than 35 mm. from the
wall.
- When extending the drain hose at the indoor unit, ins-
tall the drain insulation.
- Place the indoor unit drain hose behind the drain pipe.
5. INSTALLING THE INDOOR UNIT
- Hang the indoor unit from the hooks at the top of the
wall hook bracket.
- Insert the spacer, etc. between the indoor unit and
the wall hook bracket and separate the bottom of the
indoor unit from the wall.
6. CHECK THAT:
- The top and bottom hooks are hooked rmly and the
indoor unit does not move to the front and rear or left
and right. (Fig. 12)
- The indoor unit is accurately positioned horizontally an
vertically.
- When connected from the left rear, the drain hose is at
the bottom left of the wall pipe.
3- INDOOR UNIT INSTALLATION

ENGLISH
2- OUTDOOR UNIT INSTALLATION
- Set the unit on a strong stand, install protective
rubber pieces under it.
- Do not install the unit directly on the ground,
because it will cause trouble.
- Install the unit where it will not be tilted by more
than 5º.
3. CHECKING THE PIPE CONNECTIONS FOR
GAS LEAKING
- For both the indoor and outdoor unit sides, check the
joints for gas leaking by the use of a gas leakage detec-
tor without fail when the pipes are connected.
4. HEAT INSULATION ON THE PIPE JOINTS
- Put coupler heat insulator on the joints.
AIR PURGE
- Close the high pressure side valve fully.
- Check if the piping connections are secure.
- Check that the stems of both 3- way valves are closed
fully.
- Connect the gauge manifold service hose to the char-
ging port of the 3- way valve (side with the projection of
pushing in the valve core).
- Open the low pressure side valve of the gauge mani-
fold fully.
- Operate the vacuum pump and start pump down.
- Pump down the system for at least 15 minutes, then
check if the compound pressure gauge reads - 100kPa
(- 76 cm Hg, -1bar)

- At the end of pump down, close the low pressure side
gauge of the gauge manifold fully and stop the vacuum
pump.
- Slowly loosen the valve stem of the 3- way valve. When
the compound pressure gauge reading reaches 1- 2
kg/ cm2, retighten the valve stem and disconnect the
service hose from the 3- way valve charging port.
(If the stem of the 3- way valve is opened fully before
the service hose is disconnected, it may be difcult to
disconnect the service hose.)
- Fully open the valve stems of both 3- way valves using
a hexagon wrench. (After the valve stem begins to turn,
turn it with a torque of less than 2.9 N- m (30 kgf- cm)
until its stop turning.)
- Firmly tighten both 3- way valves blank cap and the
charging port cap.
ADDITIONAL CHARGE
- Refrigerant suitable for a piping length of 10 m. Is char-
ged in the indoor unit at the factory.
