Installation instructions
• VR1 Volume flow controllers are adjusted for the entire scaled
application area.
• To install the controller, a straight inlet section which is at least
threetimesaslongasthenominaldiameterDNandastraight
outletsectionwhichisatleast1.5timesaslongasthenominal
diameterDNisrequired.Installationdirectlydownstreamorupstre-
amofflowdisruptionpoints(bends,branches,etc.)reducesthe
control accuracy.
• Thevolumeflowsetpointisadjustedduringinstallation.Thisdoes
not affect the control accuracy.
• Thebasicversionisadjustedmanuallybysettingthepointerto
the required set point on the scale and fixing this setting.
• VR1volumeflowcontrollersandSRCductsilencersaresupplied
individually.Assemblyonsite!
• Volumeflowcontrollerswithactuator-driven adjustment enable
two-pointoperation(single-wirecontrol)incombinationwiththe
actuatorsM1(230VAC)andM2(24VAC/DC).Thecorrespon-
dingmotorlimit stops arepositionedinorder to adjustthetwo
volume flows.
Inthedeliverycondition,thetwolimitstopsoftheactuatorsare
setatthe0directionoftravelandthelargestpossibleangleof
rotation. The maximum angle of rotation corresponds to the largest
possiblevolumeflowsetpoint,andtheminimumisequivalentto
a “cutoff” at a residual leakage that is significantly lower than the
minimum volume flow as specified in the catalogue.
Thiscanbeextendedto includethree-pointoperationusingan
additional 0 circuit arrangement (two-wire control). When actuated
in this way, the actuator remains in its current position and the
VR1volumeflowcontrolleradjuststhecorrespondingsetpoint.
• Volumeflowcontrollerswith actuator-drivenadjustmentin com-
bination with the actuator M3 (24VAC/DC) enable continuous
adjustmentofthesetpoint.Theactuatorisactivatedbyanadjusting
voltageY=0...10VDCandtravelstothepositionspecifiedby
theactuatingsignal;inthiscasetheoperatingrangeofthemotor
only starts at 2 V. The volume flow set point changes more or less
linearlyinrelationtotheadjustingvoltage.
Inthedeliverycondition,theactuatorissetto0directionoftravel
andtheadjustablemechanicallimitstopsaresetforthelargest
possibleangleofrotation,whichmeansthatwhenY=10Vthe
maximum angle of rotation corresponding to the maximum volume
flow set point is approached, and at 0...2 V the minimum angle of
rotationisapproached;thiscorrespondstoa“cutoff”ataresidual
leakage that is significantly lower than the minimum volume flow
set point.
ThepurposeofthefeedbackvoltageU=2…10VDCistoprovide
an electrical indication of the volume flow set point setting and
serveasasubsequentactuatingsignalforotheractuators.
• Alladjustingactuatorsareoverload-proof,donotrequirealimit
switch and stop automatically at the limit stop.
• Sotheycanbeadjustedmanually,adjustingactuatorsareequip-
pedwithaself-resettingpushbutton.
• Thedirectionoftravelofalladjustingactuatorscanbereversed
via a changeover switch on the motor.
• Intheeventofapowerfailure,themotorremainsinitscurrent
position and the controller controls the corresponding set point.
