Whenusingelectricalappliances,basicprecautionsshouldalwaysbefollowed

toreducetheriskofre,electricshock,andinjurytopersons,includingthe

following:

1. ReadallinstructionsbeforeusingtheCompactStove.

2. Theheaterishotwheninuse.Toavoidburns,donotletbareskintouch

hotsurfaces.Thetrimaroundtheheateroutletbecomeshotduringheater

operation.Keepcombustiblematerials,suchasfurniture,pillows,bedding,

papers,clothes,andcurtainsatleast3feet(0.9m)fromthefrontoftheunit.

3. Extremecautionisnecessarywhenanyheaterisusedbyornearchildren

orinvalidsandwhenevertheunitisleftoperatingandunattended.

4. AlwaysunplugtheCompactStovewhennotinuse.

5. Donotoperateanyunitwithadamagedcordorplug,oriftheheaterhas

malfunctioned,oriftheCompactStovehasbeendroppedordamagedin

anymanner.Returnheatertoauthorizedservicefacilityforexamination,

electricalormechanicaladjustment,orrepair.

6. Donotuseoutdoors.

7. TheCompactStoveisnotintendedforuseinbathrooms,laundryareas

andsimilarindoorlocations.Neverlocateheaterwhereitmayfallintoa

bathtuborotherwatercontainer.

8. Donotrunthecordundercarpeting.Donotcovercordwiththrowrugs,

runners,orthelike.Arrangecordawayfromtrafcareaandwhereitwill

notbetrippedover.

9. Todisconnecttheunit,turnthecontrolsoff,thenremovetheplugfromthe

outlet.

10.Donotinsertorallowforeignobjectstoenteranyventilationorexhaust

openingasthismaycauseanelectricshockorre,ordamagetothe

heater.

11.Topreventapossiblere,donotblockairintakeorexhaustinanymanner.

Donotuseonsoftsurfaces,likeabed,whereopeningsmaybecome

blocked.

12.Allelectricalheatershavehotandarcingorsparkingpartsinside.Donot

useinareaswheregasoline,paint,orammableliquidsareusedorstored

orwheretheunitwillbeexposedtoammablevapors.

13.DonotmodifytheCompactStove.Useitonlyasdescribedinthismanual.

Anyotherusenotrecommendedbythemanufacturermaycausere,

14.Toreducetheriskofelectricshock,thisappliancehasapolarizedplug

(onebladeiswiderthantheother).Thisplugwilltinapolarizedoutlet

onlyoneway.Iftheplugdoesnottfullyintheoutlet,reversetheplug.If

itstilldoesnott,contactaqualiedelectriciantoinstalltheproperoutlet.

Donotchangethepluginanyway.Avoidtheuseofanextensioncord.

Brass and Nickel Doors

Thebrassandnickeldoorsarehandnishedsolidcastings.Due

tothenatureofthemanufacturingprocess,thedoorsmayhave

somesmallimperfections.Thisisconsiderednormalandaddstothe

characterofthestove.

Compact Stove Installation

! NOTE: A15Amp,120Voltcircuitisrequired.Adedicatedcircuit

ispreferredbutnotessentialinallcases.Adedicatedcircuitwill

berequiredif,afterinstallation,thecircuitbreakertripsorfuse

blowsonaregularbasiswhentheheaterisoperating.Additional

appliances on the same circuit may exceed the current rating of the

circuitbreaker.

WARNING: Ensure the power cord is not installed so that it is

pinched or against a sharp edge and ensure that the power cord is

storedorsecuredtoavoidtrippingorsnaggingtoreducetheriskof

re,electricshockorinjurytopersons.

Construction and electrical outlet wiring must comply with local

buildingcodesandotherapplicableregulationstoreducetheriskof

re,electricshockandinjurytopersons.

 Donotattempttowireyourownnewoutletsorcircuits.Toreduce

Operation

ToaccessthecontrolsgotothebackoftheStove(Figure1).

A. Main ON/OFF Switch

The ON/OFFswitchsuppliespowertoallunitfunctions(heat/ame).

B. Heater ON/OFF Switch

TheHeaterON/OFFSwitchsuppliespowertotheheaterfanandthe

heaterelement.

C. Heater Thermostat Control

Toadjustthetemperaturetoyourindividualrequirements,turnthe

thermostatcontrolclockwiseallthewaytoturnontheheater.When

theroomreachedthedesiredtemperature,turnthethermostatknob

counterclockwiseuntilyouhearaclick.Leaveinthispositionto

maintaintheroomtemperatureatthissetting.Foradditionalheat,turn

clockwiseuntilyouheartheclickagainandtheheaterwillturnon.

Toturntheheateroff,switchtheHeaterON/OFFSwitchtotheOFF

position.

! NOTE: WhentheheaterisswitchedON,theheaterfanwill

operate.Theheaterelementmayormaynotbeon,dependingon

thethermostatcontrolsetting(see“HeaterThermostatControl”).

Resetting The Temperature Cutoff Switch

Shouldtheheateroverheat,anautomaticcutoutwillturntheheater

offanditwillnotcomebackonwithoutbeingreset.Itcanberesetby

switchingtheMainON/OFFSwitchtoOFFandwaitingve(5)minutes

beforeswitchingtheunitbackon.

Maintenance

WARNING: Disconnectpowerbeforeattemptinganymaintenance

orcleaningtoreducetheriskofre,electricshockordamageto

persons.

Light Bulb Replacement

Allowatleastve(5)minutesforlightbulbsandheatertocooloff

beforetouchingbulbstoavoidaccidentalburningofskin.

Lightbulbsneedtobereplacedwhenyounoticeadarksectionof

theameorwhentheclarityanddetailofthelogexteriordisappears.

Therearetwo(2)bulbsunderthelogsetwhichgeneratetheames

andembers.

Light Bulb Requirements

Quantityoftwo(2)clearchandelierorcandelabrabulbswithanE-12

(small)socketbase,25Wattrating.

Helpful Hints

Itisagoodideatoreplacealllightbulbsatonetimeiftheyarecloseto

theendoftheirratedlife.Groupreplacementwillreducethenumber

oftimesyouneedtoopentheunittoreplacelightbulbs.

Replacement:

1. Openthefrontdoor.

2. Removethefourscrewslocatedontheemberbedandremovethe

logset(Figure2).

3. Locateandexaminethebulbstodeterminewhichbulb(s)required

replacement.

4. Unscrewthebulb(s)counterclockwise.

5. Insertnewbulb(s).

6. Installthelogsetintotheunit.Replacethelogsetretainingscrews

intotheemberbed.

Clear Door Panel Cleaning

Thecleardooriscleanedinthefactoryduringtheassemblyoperation.

Duringshipment,installation,handling,etc.,thecleardoormaycollect

dustparticles,thesecanberemovedbydustinglightlywithacleandry

cloth.

Toremovengerprintsorothermarks,thecleardoorcanbecleaned

withadampcloth.Thecleardoorshouldbecompletelydriedwitha

lintfreeclothtopreventwaterspots.Topreventscratching,donotuse

abrasivecleanersorsprayliquidsonthecleardoorsurface.

Compact Stove Surface Cleaning

UsewarmwateronlytocleanpaintedsurfacesoftheCompactStove.

Donotuseabrasivecleaners.

This limited warranty applies to the following models of your newly purchased

Dimplexelectricstove DS3311, DS4411, DS2205, DS2307 and to newly

purchasedDimplexreplacesurrounds(mantels)andtrims.Thislimited

warrantyappliesonlytopurchasesmadeinanyprovinceofCanadaexcept

forYukonTerritory,Nunavut,orNorthwestTerritoriesorinanyofthe50

StatesoftheUSA(andtheDistrictofColumbia)exceptforHawaiiand

Alaska.Thislimitedwarrantyappliestotheoriginalpurchaseroftheproduct

onlyandisnottransferable.

Products excluded from this limited warranty

Lightbulbsarenotcoveredbythislimitedwarrantyandarethesole

responsibilityoftheowner/purchaser.ProductspurchasedinYukonTerritory,

Nunavut,NorthwestTerritories,Hawaii,orAlaskaarenotcoveredbythis

limitedwarranty.ProductspurchasedintheseStates,provinces,orterritories

aresoldASISwithoutwarrantyorconditionofanykind(including,without

limitation,anyimpliedwarrantiesorconditionsofmerchantabilityortnessfor

aparticularpurpose)andtheentireriskofastothequalityandperformance

What this limited warranty covers and for how long

Productscoveredbythislimitedwarrantyhavebeentestedandinspectedprior

toshipmentand,subjecttotheprovisionsofthiswarranty,Dimplexwarrants

suchproductstobefreefromdefectsinmaterialandworkmanshipforaperiod

of12monthsfromthedateoftherstpurchaseofsuchproduct.

The limited 12 month warranty period also applies to any implied warranties

thatmayexistunderapplicablelaw.Somejurisdictionsdonotallowlimitations

onhowlonganimpliedwarrantylasts,sotheabovelimitationmaynotapplyto

thepurchaser.

What this limited warranty does not cover

Thislimitedwarrantydoesnotapplytoproductsthathavebeenrepaired

(exceptbyDimplexoritsauthorizedservicerepresentatives)orotherwise

altered.Thislimitedwarrantydoesfurthernotapplytodefectsresultingfrom

misuse,abuse,accident,neglect,incorrectinstallation,impropermaintenance

What Dimplex will do in the event of a defect

Intheeventaproductorpartcoveredbythislimitedwarrantyisproventobe

defectiveinmaterialorworkmanshipduringthe12monthlimitedwarranty

periodyouhavethefollowingrights:

Dimplexwillinitssolediscretioneitherrepairorreplacesuchdefective•

productorpartwithoutcharge.IfDimplexisunabletorepairorreplace

such product or part, or if repair or replacement is not commercially

practicableorcannotbetimelymade,Dimplexmay,inlieuofrepairor

replacement,choosetorefundthepurchasepriceforsuchproductorpart.

Limitedwarrantyservicewillbeperformedsolelybydealersorservice•

agentsofDimplexauthorizedtoprovidelimitedwarrantyservices.

Thepurchaserisresponsibleforremovalandtransportationofsuch•

productorpart(andanyrepairedorreplacementproductorpart)toand

fromtheauthorizeddealer’sorserviceagent’splaceofbusiness.

Thislimitedwarrantydoesnotentitlethepurchasertoon-siteorin-•
