cationusing120VACinput,andrequiringupto–54VDC,6ampsoutput.
IntheTotalAccess1500configuration,therectifierperformsACtoDCconversionand,when
usedwiththedualbattery,provides
uptoeighthoursofbackuppowerforafullypopulated
TotalAccess1500bank(96FXScircuits)withupto50percentoffhookcircuitsatanyone
time.
Forgeneraluse,therectifierreceivesACpowerfromastandard120VACwalloutletand
convertsthisto–54VDC,
6ampoutputtothedesignatedloadplusrechargingthesingleor
dualbattery,ormaintainingbatteryatpeakcharge.Eachbatteryhasfourseriesconnected12
voltrechargeablecells.
Single or Dual Battery
Eachbatterystringisratedfor3ampsofcurrentand7amp hoursofcapacity.Dualbatteries
arerequirediftheloadexceedstheseratingsduringACpowerfailure(backupbatterymode).
PS/BC Mounting Location
ThePS/BCnormallymountstotheassociatedbatterypack.Theunitcanalsomounttoa
specialbracketwithinacabinet,ormountexternaltoacabinetagainstawall.
Battery Disconnect Protection Circuit
Duringbatteryoperationaprotectioncircuitdisconnectsbatteryfromthemainoutputwhen
batteryvoltagedropsbelow39VDC,preventingoverdischarge.WhenACreturns,themain
outputprovidesregulated–54VDC,batteriesrecharge,andthesystemreturnstonormal.

Aftertheprotectioncircuit
initiates,theLEDsremainon(red),continuingtoslowlydrainthe
battery.Whenbatteryvoltagedropsto35VDC,allloadisremovedfromthebattery.IfAC
powerwillnotbeavailableforanextendedperiod(severaldays),disconnectthebatteryto
preventunnecessarydischarge.
DC Over Voltage Protection
ThePS/BChasaprotectioncircuitthatdisablestherectifiertoprotecttheloadfromahigh
outputvoltagecausedbyrectifierfailure.ThebackupbatteryorredundantPS/BCsupports
theloadinthisinstance.TheovervoltageeventcanpermanentlydisablethePS/BC.Confirm
thisbyperformingthefollowingprocedure:
1.DisconnectthePS/BCfromtheACsource.
2. Wait30minutesminimum.
3. After30minutesplugbackintotheACsource.
4. Iftheunithasrecovered,the
AC FAIL/UNIT FAIL/OVERLOADLEDwillturnongreenand
theunitreturnstoservice.IftheLEDdoesnotturnongreen,replacethePS/BC.

3. Alignthemountingtabstothethreadedmountingholesonthebatterypack.
4. Usingtheincluded“sems”screwswithstarwasher,mountthePS/BCtothebatterypack.
