Your camera uses two AAalkaline-manganese or
carbon-zinc batteries. For optimum performance, alkaline
cells are recommended.
1. Open the battery-chamber cover as shown
(A).
2. Insert the batteries as indicated on the inside
of the battery-chamber cover (B).
3. Close the cover and push it back to its
original position.
• Do not use nickel-cadmium batteries or lithium
batteries.
• The camera will not operate without batteries.
Battery Warning Lamp (C)
• When the battery warning lamp blinks, the battery will
need to be replaced soon.
• When the battery-warning lamp glows and the shutter
will not release, replace the battery.

Care and storage
• If the lens becomes dirty, clean it gently with a lens brush.
If necessary, moisten a sheet of lens tissue with one drop
of lens-cleaning fluid and gently wipe the lens. Never touch
the lens surface with your fingers.
• Never use alcohol or chemical solvents on the camera
body. If it is dirty, wipe it gently with a soft, clean, dry cloth.
• Do not subject the camera to shock, high heat, or humidity.
• This camera is designed for use between -5° and 40°C
(23° to 104°F).
• Do not transfer the camera directly from an extremely cold
to warm area. Condensation may form inside and prevent
normal operation.
• Do not let the camera come in contact with water, sand,
salt or other grit.
• When not in use, keep the camera in a cool, dry place
away from dust and chemicals. For extended storage,
place the camera in an airtight container with a drying
agent such as silica gel.
• This camera’s circuitry may switch off even when a battery
with sufficient power is installed. To resume operation,
remove the battery and install it again.
• To assure prompt service, please contact an authorized
Minolta Service Center before shipping your camera for
repair.

• Setzen Sie die Kamera keinen harten Stößen, großer Hitze und/oder Feuchtigkeit aus. Lassen
Sie sie nicht im Handschuhfach eines Autos liegen oder an anderen Plätzen, wo sie hohen
Temperaturen ausgesetzt sein könnte.
• Das Eindringen von Sand oder ähnlichen Schmutzpartikeln kann die Ursache für kostspielige
Reparaturen sein oder sogar einen Totalschaden verursachen. Seien Sie daher besonders

INSTALACIÓN DE LA PILA
Esta cámara utiliza dos pilas alcalino-manganésicas o de
carbón cinc de tamaño AA. Se recomienda utilizar pilas
alcalinas porque sus rendimientos son mejores.
1. Abra la tapa del compartimiento de pilas como
se indica (A).
2. Inserte las pilas, de acuerdo a las marcas en el
interior de la tapa (B).
3. Cierre la tapa y apriétela en su posición original.
• No utilice pilas de níquel-cadmio o pilas de litio.
• La cámara no funciona sin pilas.
Luz de advertencia de pilas (C)
• Si destelle la luz de advertencia de pilas, hay que cambiar
las pilas dentro de poco.
• Si se encienda la luz de advertencia de pilas y no se puede
tomar las fotografías, cambie las pilas.
CARGA DE LA PELÍCULA
Su cámara utiliza películas negativas de 35mm, con código
DX de ISO 100 200 o 400

2. Setzen Sie die Batterien, wie auf dem Batteriekammerdeckel

3. Schließen Sie den Batteriefachdeckel.
• Verwenden Sie keine Lithiumbatterien oder wiederaufladbare Nickel-
Cadmium-Akkus, da Schäden an der Elektronik auftreten können.
• Ohne Batterien ist kein Kamerabetrieb möglich.
Batteriewarnanzeige (C)
• Wenn die Batteriewarnanzeige blinkt, sollte die Batterie möglichst schnell
ersetzt werden.
• Wenn die Kamera nicht auslöst, obwohl die Batteriewarnanzeige leuchtet,
muß die Batterie ebenfalls ersetzt werden.
Den Batteriekammerdeckel zum Schließen niederdrücken und fest in die
ursprüngliche Position zurückschieben.

INSTALACIÓN DE LA PILA
Esta cámara utiliza dos pilas alcalino-manganésicas o de
carbón cinc de tamaño AA. Se recomienda utilizar pilas
alcalinas porque sus rendimientos son mejores.
1. Abra la tapa del compartimiento de pilas como
se indica (A).
2. Inserte las pilas, de acuerdo a las marcas en el
interior de la tapa (B).
3. Cierre la tapa y apriétela en su posición original.
• No utilice pilas de níquel-cadmio o pilas de litio.
• La cámara no funciona sin pilas.
Luz de advertencia de pilas (C)
• Si destelle la luz de advertencia de pilas, hay que cambiar
las pilas dentro de poco.
• Si se encienda la luz de advertencia de pilas y no se puede
tomar las fotografías, cambie las pilas.

Batteriewarnanzeige (C)
• Wenn die Batteriewarnanzeige blinkt, sollte die Batterie möglichst schnell
ersetzt werden.

muß die Batterie ebenfalls ersetzt werden.
Den Batteriekammerdeckel zum Schließen niederdrücken und fest in die
ursprüngliche Position zurückschieben.

FLASH
The flash will fire automatically when necessary, such as
low-light situations indoors and before or after sunset.
When the flash-ready lamp glows brightly (N), press the
shutter-release button all the way down to take the
picture.
Make sure your subject is within the flash range listed
below.
Red-eye Reduction
1. Press the shutter-release button partway
down.
• The self-timer/red-eye-reduction lamp on the front of
the camera will illuminate to help reduce the red-eye
effect (O).
2. Press the shutter-release button all-the-way
down to take the picture.
The self-timer delays release of the shutter for
approximately 12 seconds after the self-timer button is
pressed.
1. Center you subject(s) in the focus frame.
2. Press the self-timer button to start the timer
(P). The self-timer/red-eye-reduction lamp on
the front of the camera will glow, then blink
shortly before the picture is taken (Q).
• To cancel the self-timer, press the self-timer button
again or close the lens cover to turn the camera off.
REWIND
Automatic Rewind
Your camera automatically rewinds the film after the last
exposure is taken.
1. Wait for the film to rewind completely.
• The frame counter will count down during rewind.
• S will appear in the frame counter when the film is
rewound.
2. Open the back cover and remove the film
cartridge (R).
• Never pull the film out of the camera before it is
completely rewound.
• Start rewind manually if automatic rewind does not start
after you take the number of exposures specified on the
film cartridge. Additional exposures may overlap.
Manual Rewind
Use manual rewind to rewind the film before the roll is
finished.
1. Press the manual-rewind button using the
button key on the wrist strap (S).
2. Follow the steps in automatic rewind.

directly onto the film.
• Use the button key to press the data back buttons.
Pressing the edge of the button with a sharp object may
cause the button to stick.
• This unit is designed for use from 0 to 40 °C (32 to 104
°F). At temperatures above or below this range, the LCD
and the imprinted data may be difficult to read. Even
higher temperatures may cause the LCD to temporarily
blacken.

The flash will fire automatically when necessary, such as
low-light situations indoors and before or after sunset.
When the flash-ready lamp glows brightly (N), press the
shutter-release button all the way down to take the
picture.
Make sure your subject is within the flash range listed
below.
Red-eye Reduction
1. Press the shutter-release button partway
down.
• The self-timer/red-eye-reduction lamp on the front of
the camera will illuminate to help reduce the red-eye
effect (O).
2. Press the shutter-release button all-the-way
down to take the picture.
The self-timer delays release of the shutter for
approximately 12 seconds after the self-timer button is
pressed.
1. Center you subject(s) in the focus frame.
2. Press the self-timer button to start the timer
(P). The self-timer/red-eye-reduction lamp on

shortly before the picture is taken (Q).

Automatic Rewind
Your camera automatically rewinds the film after the last
exposure is taken.
1. Wait for the film to rewind completely.
• The frame counter will count down during rewind.

2. Open the back cover and remove the film
cartridge (R).
• Never pull the film out of the camera before it is
completely rewound.
• Start rewind manually if automatic rewind does not start
after you take the number of exposures specified on the
film cartridge. Additional exposures may overlap.

• Der Bildzähler zählt während der Rückspulung automatisch zurück.
• Im Bildzähler erscheint „S”, wenn der Film komplett zurückgespult
ist.
2. Öffnen Sie die Rückwand und entnehmen Sie die
Filmpatrone (R).
• Der Film darf nie direkt von der Aufwickelspule gezogen werden.
• Sollte die automatische Filmrückspulung der Kamera nicht
anspringen, nachdem Sie auf der Filmpatrone angegebene max.
Aufnahmezahl fotografiert haben, starten Sie die Rückspulung

FLASH
The flash will fire automatically when necessary, such as
low-light situations indoors and before or after sunset.
When the flash-ready lamp glows brightly (N), press the
shutter-release button all the way down to take the
picture.
Make sure your subject is within the flash range listed
below.
Red-eye Reduction
1. Press the shutter-release button partway
down.
• The self-timer/red-eye-reduction lamp on the front of
the camera will illuminate to help reduce the red-eye
effect (O).
2. Press the shutter-release button all-the-way
down to take the picture.
The self-timer delays release of the shutter for
approximately 12 seconds after the self-timer button is
pressed.
1. Center you subject(s) in the focus frame.
2. Press the self-timer button to start the timer
(P). The self-timer/red-eye-reduction lamp on
the front of the camera will glow, then blink
shortly before the picture is taken (Q).
• To cancel the self-timer, press the self-timer button
again or close the lens cover to turn the camera off.
REWIND
Automatic Rewind
Your camera automatically rewinds the film after the last
exposure is taken.
1. Wait for the film to rewind completely.
• The frame counter will count down during rewind.
• S will appear in the frame counter when the film is
rewound.
2. Open the back cover and remove the film
cartridge (R).
• Never pull the film out of the camera before it is
completely rewound.
• Start rewind manually if automatic rewind does not start
after you take the number of exposures specified on the
film cartridge. Additional exposures may overlap.
Manual Rewind
Use manual rewind to rewind the film before the roll is
finished.
1. Press the manual-rewind button using the
button key on the wrist strap (S).
2. Follow the steps in automatic rewind.

• In the time imprint mode, the sequence is hour, minute,
then the colon.
2. Press the ADJUST button to change the
blinking item (W).
• Press the ADJUST button when the colon is blinking to
synchronize the seconds counter to 00.
3. When the data is correct, press the SELECT
button until the print indicator appears in the
data panel (X).
Battery Replacement
The quartz data back uses one 3V lithium battery
(CR2025). Replace the data back battery when the
display dims.
1. Open the back of the camera.
2. Remove the 2 retaining screws with a small
phillips screwdriver (Y).
3. Remove the battery cover (Z).
4. Insert the new battery + side up, then replace
the battery cover and retaining screws.
• After replacing the data back battery, reset the date and
time.

Changement de pile
Le dos dateur est alimenté par une pile lithium 3V
(CR2025). Remplacer cette pile lorsque l’affichage

2. Retirer les 2 vis avec un petit tournevis (Y).
3. Retirer le couvercle du logement pile (Z).

Ajuste de la fecha y la hora

impresión en el panel de datos (X).
Reposición de la pila
El respaldo de datos utiliza una pila de litio de 3V (CR2025).
Reponga la pila en el respaldo de datos cuando los

1. Abra la tapa trasera de la cámara.
2. Quite dos tornillos de la tapa de la pila utilizando

Einstellen des Datums und der Uhrzeit
1. Durch Drücken die Taste SELECT, um die Anzeige zum

• Bei der Uhrzeit-Funktion ist die Reihenfolge Stunde, Minute, dann

2. Drücken Sie die Taste ADJUST, um die blinkende
Anzeige auf den gewünschten Wert einzustellen (W).
• Drücken Sie die Taste ADJUST, um den blinkenden Doppelpunkt
und damit die Sekunden auf „00” einzustellen.
3. Wenn die eingestellten Daten korrekt sind, drücken Sie
die Taste SELECT bis der Einbelichtungsindikator
erscheint.
Batterie ersetzen
Die Datenrückwand wird mit einer 3V Lithium-Batterie (CR2025)
bestückt. Wechseln Sie die Batterie aus, wenn die Anzeige nicht
mehr deutlich lesbar ist.
1. Öffnen Sie die Rückwand der Kamera.
2. Drehen Sie die beiden Schrauben mit einem kleinen
Schraubenzieher heraus (Y).
3. Nehmen Sie den Batteriekammerdeckel ab (Z).
4. Setzen Sie eine frische Batterie mit dem (+)-Pol nach
oben ein. Befestigen Sie den Batteriekammerdeckel
mit den beiden Schrauben.
• Nachdem die Batterie ersetzt wurde, müssen das Datum und die
Zeit neu eingestellt werden.
