Only use the heater indoors and never use it to heat, for
example, a car or tent.
Never cover the heater with clothes or other items in order to
dry them.
The heater should never be operated with an external time
switch or a separate remote control system.
DANGER! Do not use this heater with a program switch,
timer, separate remote control system or any other device
that automatically switches on the heater because there is
a risk of fire if the heater is covered or positioned
incorrectly.
DANGER! The heater must not be covered. It poses a
fire hazard!
DANGER! Always place the heater on a flat, heat-
resistant surface and not in the vicinity of heat sources
and flammable materials, liquids or gases. Leave at least
0.5m clearance on all sides because there is a risk of fire
otherwise!
DANGER! Plug the heater into a mains socket that is
always easily accessible. However, the heater must never
be positioned directly below a wall socket. Only use the
heater with the voltage specified on the rating plate of the
device because there is a risk of an electric shock
otherwise!
SilverCrest SHH 1200 C1

DANGER!
A
lways handle the mains cable (11) by the
plug and do not pull on the cable itself. Never place the
heater, furniture or other heavy objects on the mains
cable (11) and take care that it is not kinked, especially
near the plug. Never tie a knot in the mains cable (11)
and do not tie cables together. Ensure that the mains
cable (11) is placed so that no one can trip over it and it
does not cause an obstruction. Make sure that the mains
cable (11) does not touch any hot surfaces of the heater.
A damaged mains cable (11) can cause a fire or an
electric shock. Inspect the mains cable (11) from time to
time. If the mains cable (11) is damaged, it must be
replaced by the manufacturer or its customer service
representative or a similarly qualified person to prevent
any safety hazards. Do not use adapter plugs or
extension cables and do not make any alterations to the
mains cable (11)!
DANGER! Never touch the mains cable (11) and the
heater with wet hands because there is a risk of an
electric shock!
DANGER! This heater can be used by children aged 8
and older and by persons with reduced physical, sensory
or mental abilities or lack of experience and knowledge if
they are supervised or have been instructed on the safe

use of the heater and understand the resulting risks.
Children must not play with the heater. Cleaning and user
maintenance must not be carried out by children without
supervision. Children who are younger than 3 years of
age must be kept away from the device unless they are
constantly supervised. Children aged at least 3 and
younger than 8 may only switch the heater on and off
when they are supervised or have been instructed on the
safe use of the heater and understand the resulting risks,
provided that the heater is positioned or installed where it
is normally used. Children aged at least 3 and younger
than 8 must not insert the plug into the socket, regulate the
heater, clean it and/or perform user maintenance.
Caution - some parts of the heater can become very hot
and cause burns. Particular caution is required when
children and vulnerable persons are present. Small parts
can be fatal if swallowed. Always keep plastic packaging
out of reach. It poses a suffocation risk.
DANGER! This heater is not equipped with a thermostat

8. Prior to use
8.1. Assembly (figure D)
Place the device facing upwards on a table or worktop so that approx. 10cm of the bottom of
the device and the safety switch (17) protrude over the table or edge of the worktop.
Take the heater base (9) and insert the mains cable (11) from above through the middle
opening in the heater base (9).
Then place the heater base (9) on the heater in such a manner that the mains cable terminal
(15) points to the back of the device. The spacers (14) must then lie above the 2 threads (16).
Then use the 2 fixing screws (13) to attach the heater base (9) to the heater. Tighten the 2
fixing screws (13), using a suitable screwdriver if necessary.
Press the mains cable (11) into the mains cable terminal (15) and then insert it into the opening
in the heater base (9) in such a manner that it emerges towards the back of the device.
This completes the assembly of the heater.
9. First use
DANGER! The temperature of the accessible surfaces may be very high when the device
is operating. There is a risk of burns!
DANGER! Always unwind the entire mains cable (11). It poses a fire hazard.
The device may briefly emit an odour or light smoke when it is used for the first time. This is
normal and completely harmless. If necessary, ensure that there is sufficient ventilation.
Insert the mains plug into an earthed mains socket that is always easily accessible and
conforms to the specifications in the "Technical data" section.
SilverCrest SHH 1200 C1
12 - English
9.1. Switching the heater on or off
Insert the mains plug into an earthed mains socket that conforms to the specifications in the
"Technical data" section.
You can use the main switch (4) to switch the heater on (1 - ON) and off (0 - OFF).
The middle heating element (7) lights up as soon as the device is switched on.
9.1.1. The heating levels (figures B and F)
The heater has 3 heating levels, each of 400 watts. When you switch on the heater using the main
switch (4), the middle heating element (7) is switched on.
If necessary, you can also switch on the upper heating element (6) and/or the lower heating
element (8).
Press the switch (2) to switch on/off the lower heating element.
Press the switch (3) to switch on/off the upper heating element.
9.2. The swivel function (figure E)
The heater is equipped with a swivel function which can be switched on or off. When the swivel
function is switched on, there is more even heat distribution in the room. When the swivel function is
switched off, the heat is emitted directionally.
Press the switch (1) to switch on/off the swivel function.
9.3. The overheating protection function
The heater is equipped with an overheating protection function which automatically switches off the
heating elements (6, 7, 8) in the event of internal overheating. After the overheating protection
function is triggered, the heater should be disconnected from the mains. Once the device has
cooled down, it can be reconnected to the mains and used.
RISK OF FIRE!
The overheating protection function is not usually triggered without reason. Check the
following points:
Can the heater freely emit its heat?
Is the heater too close to a wall or any other object?
Is the heater covered?
Are the ventilation slots (10) and the protection grid (5) of the heater free?
Eliminate obvious problems immediately or contact the manufacturer. If the overheating
protection function is repeatedly triggered for no apparent reason, this could indicate the
existence of a technical defect. In this case, stop using the heater and please contact the
manufacturer.
SilverCrest SHH 1200 C1
English - 13
9.4. Tilt protection function (figure G)
The heater is equipped with a safety switch (17). This is to be found under the heater base (9). As
soon as the heater is positioned at an angle or even falls over, it is automatically switched off by the
safety switch (17).
The heater switches itself on again once it is in a safe upright position and the safety switch (17) is
pressed.
RISK OF FIRE! The safety switch (17) must not be manipulated or blocked in order to
operate the heater in a position other than upright.
10. Troubleshooting
The heater is not working
Check whether the mains plug is inserted correctly into the socket.
Check whether the mains socket provides power. If necessary, check the building fuses.
The heater does not heat
Make sure that the main switch (4) is in the 1 - ON position.
Check whether the heater is in an upright position and the safety switch (17) is pressed.
The internal overheating protection function was activated. Let the heater cool down and check
whether the ventilation slots (10) and the protection grid (5) are free.
One or more heating elements (6, 7, 8) are defective. Contact Customer Service.
11. Maintenance / cleaning
11.1. Maintenance
Servicing is necessary if the heater has been damaged or if liquids or objects have
penetrated the housing, if the heater has been exposed to rain or moisture or if it does not
work properly or has been dropped. If smoke is produced, or there are any unusual
sounds or smells, switch off the heater immediately and remove the mains plug from the
socket. In such cases, the heater should not be used until it has been inspected by
authorised service personnel. Only have qualified personnel carry out the servicing on the
device. Never open the housing of the heater.
SilverCrest SHH 1200 C1
14 - English
11.2. Cleaning
DANGER! Remove the mains plug from the socket before cleaning as there is a risk of an
electric shock!
DANGER! Wait until the heater has cooled down completely. Otherwise, there is a risk
of burns!
Clean the heater at regular intervals. Never remove the protection grid (5) when cleaning.
Never use any solvent or cleaner that would corrode the plastic materials.
Use a slightly damp cloth with some washing-up liquid, if necessary, to clean the plastic
surfaces. Then wipe it with a cloth that has only been slightly dampened with water. Use the
device again only when it is completely dry.
If the ventilation slots (10) of the heater are dirty, you can also clean them carefully with a
vacuum cleaner.
To remove dust deposits from the protection grid (5), you can also vacuum it carefully or clean
it with a soft brush. To prevent dust from falling into the heater, you must hold it in such a
manner that the protection grid (5) faces downwards when cleaning.
12. Storage when not in use
DANGER!
W
