MAGNUM
IA200 Stereo (Dual-Mono) Integrated Amplifier
Thank you for buying this IA200 integrated amplifier. While being an integrated amplifier it is, in
effect a pre-amplifier and power amplifier in a single chassis. The “power amplifier” has twin
power supplies and the “pre amplifier” incorporates a dedicated power supply. A single
transformer is used. The IA200 Magnum Integrated Amplifier also uses larger, higher-grade
capacitors than you may have previously experienced. Ensure you switch power off and let these
capacitors discharge before altering connections. We will discuss this on page 3 (§).
FUNCTION/DESCRIPTION OF THE FRONT PANEL
1.Volume Varies the output voltage with constant impedance
2.Mute Loudspeakers disconnected.
3.On L.E.D. Lights when the amplifier is powered
4.Switch Powers the amplifier when pressed in
5.C.D. Input signals fed directly to amplifying circuits/volume control. This
MAY enhance sound quality.
6.Input Selector Connects 6 independent inputs via low noise amplifying circuits.
FUNCTION/DESCRIPTION OF THE REAR PANEL
7.GND Terminal post for the PU Arm Grounding lead
8.Phono Input for Moving Magnet cartridge
See over for more
9.C.D. through Tape Auxiliary Inputs
10.Tape-Out Record Output voltage proportional to the input voltage, from input selected
11.C.D. Direct Inputs directly to amplifying circuits. CD input may yield higher clarity
12.Pre-Out Output voltage variable according to volume control
13.Ventilation Grill Self explanatory, DO NOT COVER OR OBSTRUCT
14.Speakers left/right Two outputs to the loudspeakers, loads 4-16 ohms, disconnected when
mute switch pushed in
IT IS VITAL THAT YOU CONNECT ONLY ONE PAIR OF SPEAKERS
15.Power lead input May be disconnected to allow use of upgraded power cable and thereby
improved sonics. Discuss this with your dealer
16.Fuse Holder 6.3 Amp fuse must be used

OPERATING ADVICE
To ensure the highest quality musical reproduction we ask you read, follow and understand
these instructions. Adherence will ensure continuance of the audio quality that your retailer
demonstrated, and help ensure the optimum longevity of your equipment.
Connect the supplied AC cable to the amplifier, thence to a suitable AC supply. This product must be grounded. Do not
use with an extension cord or other device to by-pass grounding. Operate only on 120 Volts AC, 60 Hz.
Use your amplifier in well-ventilated areas, avoiding rain or moisture and ensure ventilation holes are not obstructed.
Avoid letting foreign objects enter your amplifier through these holes.
Do not modify this amplifier in any way. Do not remove, or tamper with, any parts of the equipment. Not only will this
invalidate your warranty, but dangerous voltages exist within, of sufficient magnitude to constitute a risk of electric
shock, even with power disconnected. There are no user serviceable parts. Refer all servicing to qualified service
personnel.
Switch off power to the equipment and allow capacitors to discharge (§) before inserting, adjusting or removing any
connecting cables.
Before switching on the amplifier, or switching input selector, it is advisable to turn the volume control to the minimum
position (fully counter clockwise), to minimize power surges.
For stereo amplification connect a suitable loudspeaker load to the terminals (RED - Speaker Positive, BLACK -
Speaker Negative) 6-16 ohms acceptable, nominal load 8 ohms. This unit is intended to drive one pair of stereo
speakers. Use of more will likely overload your amplifier and repairs will be at your cost, outside the scope of your
warranty.
The On L.E.D. should illuminate when the amplifier is switched on. If this does not occur, please:
a) Check AC cable still fully connected.
b) Check amplifier fuse within fuse holder mounted on rear panel still intact.
c) Check with your dealer.
At switch on, fuses can blow due to the current surge. The stated fuses must be fitted to safeguard the equipment.
If in doubt, check with your Magnum dealer.
If your Magnum should inexplicably cease operating it may have temporarily shut itself off to avoid damage from
overheating. Switch off and allow cooling for an hour or so then turn on again. If this problem re-occurs, as always,
check with your dealer.
If L.E.D. is alight, but amplifier does not appear to work, please check that all input/output leads are connected
securely. If reconnection should be required, ensure that power is completely removed from circuit (§). Otherwise,
check with your Magnum dealer.
If this amplifier will be unused for an extended period of time, unplug it from the wall.
This amplifiers original packing will be useful for any future transportation. Ensure it is retained.

(§) Always switch power off and allow your IA200 Magnum Integrated Amplifier at
least 45 seconds for the large capacitors to “drain” their power. Damage can occur
even after shutdown due to this “power reserve.” For the novice audiophile, these are
employed to provide power for transient peaks in normal amplifier operation. Good
quality capacitors are part of the reason your Magnum has such a high quality of sound
reproduction. The premium quality capacitors enable it to handle easily any and all
transient musical dynamics.
Your amplifier is normally factory set for Magnetic cartridges. Should you wish to
later adjust to Moving Coil, a new R.I.A.A. module can be added for a small fee. If you
ordered your IA200 Integrated Amplifier as Moving Coil input, please disregard.
Once again, thank you for buying this Magnum IA200 Magnum Integrated Amplifier.
