Reading and storing the

nies the digital caliper. It
contains important infor-
mation on start-up and handling.
For improved readability, the digital
caliper will be referred to only as
the “caliper” in this user manual.
Before using the caliper, read the
user manual carefully. This partic-
ularly applies for the safety notes.
Failure to comply with the user
manual may result in damage to
the caliper.
Store the user manual for future
use. If you pass the caliper on to
third parties, please be absolutely
sure to include this user manual.

leaky batteries may result in
injury or chemical burns.
Do not touch leaky bat-
teries. If you do happen
to come into contact with
battery acid, wash the
affected area thoroughly
with plenty of clean water.
To prevent batteries from
leaking, do not charge

them and do not short
circuit them.

Take the batteries out of
the battery compartment
of the caliper as soon as
they are empty.
Only replace the battery
with the same type or an
equivalent battery type.
Batteries must not be
exposed to excessive heat
such as in the form of sun-
light, fire or similar.
Make sure that the battery
is inserted the right way
around, that is, ensure that
the polarity (+ and -) is
correct.
Before disposing of the
caliper, the battery must
first be removed and dis-
posed of separately from
the device.
Take the battery out of the
caliper if you do not use it
for a prolonged period of
time.

Checking the caliper and
the product contents
1. Take the caliper

out of the
packaging.
2. Check to make sure that the
delivery is complete (see fig. A).
3. Check whether the caliper or the
individual parts
exhibit damage. If this is the
case, do not use the caliper. Con-
tact the manufacturer via the
service address indicated on the
warranty card.
Inserting⁄changing the
battery
A type LR44 button cell has already
been inserted.

partment

to configure itself. The
caliper may only be
switched on once the
configuration process
