APPLICATIONS:
The PacMate is used for the manufacture of
packaging pads made from corrugated board or
other carton materials.
Only corrugated cartons and similar
materials may be fed into the machine
for processing into packaging pads!
The use of other materials may result in
bodily injury (e.g. due to splintering of hard
materials etc.), as well as damage to the
machine (e.g. destruction of the cutting
system etc.).
INSTALLATION:
- Assemble the unit as per the Assembly Instruc
-
tions below.
- Plug in the machine (for instructions for the
necessary precautions see TECHNICAL
DATA“.
The machine may only be used for its
intended purpose.
The mains connection at the machine
must be freely accessible!
Only operate the machine in enclosed
rooms at temperatures between 10°C
and 25°C!
EXPLANATION OF THE CONTROLS:
1 = Rocker switch (fig. 1)
(forward / stop / reverse)
This switch is for the following functions:
- position „I“
cutting systems runs forward
- position „0“
machine is switched off
- position „bowed arrow“
cutting systems runs backwards
OPERATING THE MACHINE:
- Turn machine on with rocker switch (1) (fig. 1)
(position „I“).
- The cutting system runs forward.
Due to danger of injury when later hand-
ling the packaging pads, existing metal
clips and staples must be removed by
means of a suitable staple remover
before cutting into packaging pads.
CUTTING CORRUGATED
STRIPS INTO PACKAGING PADS (Fig. 2):
- Feed the corrugated materials to the special
cutting system for the production of packaging
pads via the inlet guide.
- Remove the finished packaging pads after
processing is complete.
Never feed more than the maximum
allowable quantity of material into the
machine (see „TECHNICAL DATA“).
If a materials jam should nevertheless oc-
cur, refer to „MATERIAL JAM IN THE INLET
CHUTE“ under „MALFUNCTIONS“.
<< The machine may not be operated by more
than one person at any given time!
The machine was designed for safe operation
by “one person only”.
<< During the shredding process no other
work may be performed on the machine
(for example cleaning, etc.)!
<< The machine is not a toy, and is not suitable
for use by children!
The overall technical safety concept of this ma-
chine (dimensions, feed openings, emergency
shutdown devices etc.) does not provide for
any guarantee regarding hazard-free operation
by children.
<< Danger of injury! Keep all
loose articles of clothing, ties,
jewelery, long hair or other loose
objects away from opening!
<< Danger of injury! Never insert fingers into
opening!
<< In case of danger switch the machine off
with the mains switch, or with the emer
-
gency switch, or unplug the machine!
<< Always unplug the machine from the
mains power supply before opening the
machine!
Repairs may only be performed by trained
personnel!

PAPER JAM:
If too much materials is fed to the cutting system
the cutting system will jam. Proceed as follows:
- Operate the rocker switch (1) (fig. 1) to position
„bowed arrow“.
- The cutting system runs in reverse and free up
excess materials.
- Remove excess materials from the machine and
continue processing with a smaller amount of
material.
MOTOR PROTECTION:
The motor shuts down automatically, should it
become overloaded. Turn the machine off with
the rocker switch (1) (fig. 1) (position „0“). Allow
the motor to cool down for 15 to 20 minutes
(depending upon room temperature) and then
continue shredding.
CHECKLIST IN CASE OF MALFUNCTIONS:
If the device does not function, check the follo-
wing:
- is the
plug connected to the mains?
- is the
rocker switch (1) on?
- Is there a material jam in the inlet chute?
Follow the instructions under „MATERIAL JAM
IN THE INLET CHUTE“.
- has the
motor been overloaded?
Wait until the motor has cooled, and then re
-
start.
If none of the above applies, please contact
your dealer.
No structurel modifications may be
carried out!
In case of non-observance, the opera-
tion permission expires.
