How to Install Adjustments

Remove the seat.

Raise the rear end of the vehicle so that the
original shock absorber is in an unloaded
position.
Warning!
Make sure the vehicle is securely supported so
that it will not fall over.

Remove the original shock absorber.
Note!
Remove the lower bolt of the triangle link so that
the lower bolt of the shock absorber can be
removed.
Warning!
It is advisable to have an Öhlins dealer install the
shock absorber.
When installing, consult your Vehicle Service
Manual.

Install the Öhlins shock absorber in the same
position as the original unit. Fasten the upper
attachment rst.
Note!
* The CSC Adjuster should be pointing towards
the front of the vehicle.
* The piggy back reservoir should be at the top,
towards the rear and slightly to the left.

Fasten the lower attachment. Raise the
wheels slightly to make the attachment t.
Reattach the triangle link!

Tighten the attachment screws to the correct
torque. Consult your ATV Owners manual.

Check sag and ride height according to the
Öhlins Owner’s manual. See also Set-up data
in this manual.
Note!
Make sure that all bolts are tightened to the
correct torque and that nothing fouls or restricts
movement of the shock absorber when the
suspension is being fully compressed or
extended.

Warning!
Before riding, always make sure that the
basic settings made by Öhlins are according
to recommended Set-up Data. Read about
adjustments and setting up in the Öhlins
Owner’s Manual before you make any
adjustments. Contact an Öhlins dealer if you
have any questions about setting up the shock
absorber.
Rebound and Compression Damping
Use an allen key. Turn the adjuster clockwise
to increase the damping, turn counter
clockwise to decrease it.
Spring Preload
Loosen the platform clamp screw. Use
an allen key.
Use a C-spanner and move the spring
platform to the desired position (2A).
Or, turn the spring by hand to the
desired position (2B).
The spring platform and the spring
are press fitted, therefore, by turning the
spring you will move the spring platform.
Tighten the platform clamp screw.
CSC Adjuster
Use an allen key and turn the screw. Turn
clockwise to increase the damping, turn
counter clockwise to decrease.
Note!
Since the CSC valve is designed to compensate
for temperature changes, the number of clicks
will differ slightly between a cold and a warm
shock absorber. The recommended setting is at
room temperature.
Caution!
Do not use force, delicate sealing surfaces can
be damaged.
