SEAL Innovation SwimSafe SB001 User manual

  • Hello! I'm a chat assistant that has analyzed the provided user guide for the SEAL SwimSafe system. This system includes a wearable band and hub to monitor swimmers in the water. The guide covers setup, charging, pairing, and adjusting swim levels for the device. I'm ready to answer any questions you may have about the SEAL SwimSafe device.
  • Why is SEAL SwimSafe worn around the neck?
Why does SEAL SwimSafe use RFAO instead of Bluetooth?
What is the range of the System?
How many bands can be monitored by a single Hub?
CHARGE
The SEAL SwimSafe
Band and Hub must
be charged in order to monitor swimmers.
Plug in the SEAL SwimSafe
Charger and
fully charge the Band and Hub before an
outing or a long day of swimming. Charge
the Band and Hub until the lights stay on
and are no longer flashing to indicate a
full charge.
CHARGING TIME (0% to full charge)
Band: 1.5 hours Hub: 3 to 4 hours
BATTERY LIFE Up to 8 hours
The bands will blink RED until they have
reached the minimum usable charge.
Plug in the SEAL SwimSafe
4-Band Charger.
Place the SEAL SwimSafe
Band into the
4-Band Charger.
Rotate the swivel clamp over the Band
to hold it in place.
NOTE If the swivel clamp does not rotate
smoothly, be sure that the four metal
contact points on the face of the Band
are aligned with the pins in the Charger.
Place the SEAL SwimSafe
Hub into the
Charger. Indicator lights will appear.
CHOOSING A SWIM LEVEL
The SEAL SwimSafe
System allows you
to set each Band to four different Swim
Levels. The user’s swim ability and lung
capacity are important in determining
which Swim Level to choose.
NOTE Older adults or swimmers with
medical problems may need a lower
Swim Level to detect shorter periods
of submersion before alarming.
USER GUIDE
POWER UP
TURN ON THE SYSTEM by pressing the button on the top of the
Hub. The Hub light will flash RED, then GREEN. The Band will
flash the SWIM LEVEL COLOR (see "Swim Levels" section below),
and the Hub will begin flashing GREEN/WHITE
to indicate they are turned on and charging.
NOTE Turn on a Band at any time by rubbing
the face of the Band against the SEAL logo on
the side of the Hub until you hear the Hub chirp,
or place the Band in the Charger connected to
a power source. The Band will begin flashing
the preset SWIM LEVEL COLOR.
TURN OFF THE SYSTEM by pressing and
holding the button on top of the Hub. The
Hub light will turn RED. This will turn off
the Hub and all Bands paired with the Hub.

SET SWIM LEVELS
EARLY WARNING SYSTEM
The SEAL SwimSafe
System will alarm by emitting audible
sirens and flashing RED/WHITE lights, when it determines:
• A swimmer has been submerged for longer
than their Swim Level setting allows.
When this occurs, the swimmer will hear an alarm
and the Band will flash RED/WHITE. The swimmer
must immediately come to the water surface.
• A person wearing the Band travels outside
of the Hub’s range.
When the Band returns to within the Hub's range,
the Band will stop flashing RED/WHITE and return
to flashing it's Swim Level color and the Hub will
stop alarming.
The Hub will alarm if the user is unable to surface or return
to range of the Hub.

Why is SEAL SwimSafe™ worn around the neck?
The only consistently reliable placement is around the neck. Wristband
wearables will not accurately monitor a swimmer because they will false
alarm when a user holds their arm underwater.
What happens if the battery dies?
The Band will alert the swimmer and guard or adult when its battery is low
by blinking red and making a ‘chirping’ noise.
How many bands can be monitored by a single Hub?
One Hub can monitor twelve Bands at once. For larger swim groups,
contact SEAL Innovation (888) 786-8721 for SEAL SwimSafe™ Commercial.
What happens if I forget to take it off when I leave the pool?
The Band will give a warning to return to the pool before you get too far.
The Hub will alarm if you travel outside of its coverage area.
Will there be any apps or additional functions?
Yes, SEAL Innovation is developing the SEAL SwimSafe™ app for iOS and
Android. Sign up at www.SEALSwimSafe.com and we will notify you of
any updates to the software.
Can my swimmers wear it during a competition?
The Band is designed and tested not to interfere with any aquatic
activities. Check your individual race rules for any restrictions.
SWIM LEVEL ALARM
The Hub will flash RED/WHITE with sirens to
indicate a swimmer has been submerged for
longer than their Swim Level setting allows.
All other Bands will turn solid RED.
If the System alerts due to an emergency, all
swimmers should exit the pool. Lifeguards,
parents or others should identify the swimmer
wearing the alarming Band.
INDICATORS & WARNINGS
Why does SEAL SwimSafe use RFAO instead of Bluetooth?
SEAL SwimSafe uses Radio Frequency Always On (RFAO) technology
to ensure greater range, reliability, and accuracy than Bluetooth.
What is the range of the System?
SEAL SwimSafe will monitor an Olympic-sized pool.
Can I buy additional Bands separately?
Yes. You can purchase more Bands at www.SEALSwimSafe.com and at
retailers across the country.
Will it work on my boat or at the beach or lake?
Yes, as long as the swimmer stays within range of the Hub. In deep or
murky water, the strobe light on the swim Band may not be visible. It is
critical to always use safe swimming practices and have direct visual
supervision of swimmers at all times.
Is there any installation involved?
No. The SEAL SwimSafe™ System is completely portable.
