Ifyouexperiencedifcultieswithyourinstallation,therearemethods
toanalyzethe difculty. Operating difculties can be caused by
either the linear encoders or the readout.
Checking the readout
Followthestepsbelowtodetermineifyourdifcultiesareassociated
withthereadout:
• Insurethatthelinearencoderconnectorsarecorrectlyseated.
• Swaplinearencodercablesatthereadouttoseeiftheproblem

• Checkforloosefasteners.Ifyoundloosefasteners,rstconrm
that the linear encoder is installed to the tolerances specified and
then retighten the fasteners as required.
• Confirm that the linear encoder is installed to the required
tolerances by checking the alignment tolerances specified on Page

reinstall the linear encoder according to the procedures in
“Installation.
• PerformaRepeatabilityTestasdescribedonPage10,“Checking
