Proxxon 21200 BSG220 is a compact and powerful drill grinder offering excellent grinding power, capable of perfectly grinding all spiral drills with a diameter between 3 and 13 mm and a standard angle (118°, DIN 1412). The drill may be of HSS, CrV or WS (tool steel). The swivel movement around two axes during the grinding process achieves the correct "relief" for optimal drilling. With the integrated dressing stone, the special fused alumina grinding wheel can be perfectly cleaned and smoothened after longer use.

3. Slackenscrew3andadjust adjustment bar 4

accordingly.

4. Fastenthedrill in clamp 2 using Allenkey1

(Fig.7).

Drillswithdiameteroflessthan3mm:

Drillswithadiameterofless than3mm must be

clampedintheadapter13(Fig.1)supplied for

thispurpose.

Adapters for spiral drill diameters

1.5/1.6/2.0/2.4/2.5and3.0 mm areavailableas

accessories.Inthis case proceed as follows:

Insert drill 1 (Fig.

4)intotheadapter 2 andfasten

with the Allenkey3. Theshankoftheadapter

hasadiameterof10 mm. Insertthedrillwith the

adapterintoclamp4. Themachinemustthenbe

adjustedaspreviouslydescribedforadrill with a

10mmdiameter.

Grindingthedrill:

grinding work!

Wearonlysuitableworkingclothes(nowide

arms,ties, jewellery).

openthepositioning prism.

2. Laythedrill into the positioning prism and

insertaguidepin2oftheclamp into the slot

5. Turnspindle1(Fig.9)until thedrill 2 slightly

contactsthegrindingwheel3. Readthe

scalevalue4andturnthespindle1exactly

oneturnback.Theclearancebetweendrill2

andgrindi

ng wheelisnow1mm.

6. SwitchthemachineonbytheONOFF

switch7(Fig.1).

Note!

Remember the position on scale4(Fig.9)!

Aftergrinding the firstcuttingedge the drillis

turnedaroundinthe positioningprismand at

thispointitmusthave thesamedistance to

thegrinding wheel as before thefirstcutting

edge was ground.Otherwise thedrillwillbe

asymmetric.

7. Movetheswivelarmsmoothlyandevenlyto

therightagainstthestopwhileadvancingthe

feedspindle1(Fig.10) slowlyindirection B.

Repeatthisprocess,untilthecuttingedge of

thedrillissharp.

Note!

Adrillisnormally correctly sharpenedafter 4-

5swivelling movements. Remember the

position on the scale!

8. Returnfeed spindle1(Fig.11)tothe

previouslyrememberedscalevalue 4.

9. SwitchthemachineoffbytheONOFF

switch7(Fig.1).

10. Turnknurled screw 3 (Fig.11) in direction A

andslackencl

ampscrew2sothatthedrill

canberemoved from theclamp.

Attention!

Atthispointdonotloosentheclamp!

11. Turnthedrillwith theclamp for 180°,layit

intothepositioningprismandfastenitinthe

clamping prism,asdescribed for grindingthe

firstcuttingedge.

12. Swit

chthemachine on bytheON-OFF

switch7(Fig1)andgrind the secondcutting

edge.

Attention!

Whengrinding thesecond cutting edgestop

thefeedatexactlythesamepositionatwhich

thefirstgrinding process was finished.

Otherwisethe drillwillbeasymmetric.

Note!

Thereliefangle isgenerallyadjustedbythe

positioning intheclamp(Fig. 5).Therelief

anglesetting is factory set for the drill

diametersfrom 3to13mmand should only

beadjustedinexceptional cases.

Adjusthexagon nut1(Fig.13) of theadjustment

spindleaccordingtotable(Fig.12).

Dressingthegrindingwheel:

Note!

Ifgrooves have formedorifthe grinding

wheelisblockeditmustbedressed, in order

toachieve goodgrinding results.

1. SwitchthedrillgrinderonbytheONOFF

switch7(Fig.1).

2. Pressknob1(Fig.14)slightlydownand

movethepressingpart2severaltimesup

anddown,until thecompletefront face of the

grinding wheelhasbeenprocessed.

Replacingthegrindingwheel:

Attention!

Replacethe grinding wheelonceithas

reached adiameter of less than 45 mm.

deliveredwiththe machine.

1. Pulloutthemainsplug.

2. Removecap1(Fig.15)with a screwdriveror

similar.

3. Unscrewsockethead capscrew2(Fig.15),

remove washer3 andgrinding wheel 5 with

clampingf

lange 4.

4. Mountthenewgrinding wheel 5 with

clampingflange 4and washer 3. Tighten

socketheadcapscrew2andplug on cap 1.

Pluginthemain plug.

Careandmaintenance:

Thedrillgrinderisalmost maintenance free. For

alonglifetimeyoushouldcleanthemachineafter

eachusewith compressed airandasoft cloth,

becausethegrindingdust is veryaggressive.

Wastedisposal:

Donotdisposeof the machine withyour

normalhousehold refuse!Themachine

containsmaterials which can be recycled.Ifyou

haveanyquestionsonthismatterpleaseask

yourlocalwastedisposalcompanyorother

municipalfacilities.
