Running Gear/Economy Cart 134 505
The data contained in this supplement is either in addition to or takes exception to data appearing
later in this manual.
A. Assembly Instructions (Figure 1)
1. Insert axle (6) through holes in running gear shelf (5).
2. Install wheels (4) onto axle with supplied retaining rings (7).
3. Install casters (10) with supplied lock washers (9) and nuts (8).
4. Install handle assembly (1) with supplied hardware (11, 12, and 13).
5. Insert gun holder insulator (2) into gun holder on handle assembly and secure with supplied springrip locking
washer (3).
B. Installation Of XMT Models Onto Running Gear/Economy Cart
WARNING: ELECTRIC SHOCK can kill.
Do not touch live electrical parts.
Disconnect input power conductors from deenergized supply line BEFORE moving welding power
source.
FALLING EQUIPMENT can cause serious personal injury and equipment damage.
Lift unit at handles on top ends of case.
Have two persons of adequate physical strength lift unit.
Move unit with hand cart or similar device of adequate capacity.
Use equipment of adequate capacity to lift the unit.
If using a fork lift vehicle, place and secure unit on a proper skid before transporting.
This unit has built-in handles on top ends of case for lifting. Be sure unit is lifted and transported safely and
securely.
1. Unthread and remove the four rubber mounting pads on the bottom of the XMT unit.
2. Partially thread two of the supplied .312-18 x 1.000 in. screws into the XMT unit rear mounting holes where the
rubber mounting pads were removed in Step 1.
3. Carefully position the XMT unit on the inclined portion of the running gear so that the front control panel faces
upwards, and the two mounting screws on the XMT unit fit into the matching slotted holes on the running gear
shelf. Make sure that the screws slide down into the slots.
4. Thread two other supplied .312-18 x 1.000 in. screws from the bottom of the running gear shelf through the
running gear mounting holes and into the two remaining XMT unit mounting holes.
5. Tighten all four screws.
C. Installation Of MAXTRON Models Onto Running Gear/Economy Cart
WARNING: ELECTRIC SHOCK can kill.
Do not touch live electrical parts.
Disconnect input power conductors from deenergized supply line BEFORE moving welding power
source.
FALLING EQUIPMENT can cause serious personal injury and equipment damage.
Use lifting eye to lift unit only, NOT running gear, gas cylinders, or any other heavy accessories or devices.
Use equipment of adequate capacity to lift the unit.
If lifting or moving this unit with lift forks under the base, be sure that lift forks are long enough to extend
beyond opposite side of the base.
Using lift forks too short can damage internal parts if tips of the lift forks penetrate the unit base, or may cause
personal injury and/or equipment damage if unit falls off the lift forks.

1. Carefully position the MAXTRON unit on the inclined portion of the running gear so that the front control panel
faces upwards and the MAXTRON and running gear mounting holes align.
2. Secure with supplied .250-20 x .500 in. bolts, lockwashers, and nuts.
