Safety information
•Whenusingastrap,makesurethestrapissecurelyfastenedtotheguitar.
•Do notswingorspin theguitar.Ifyouswingtheguitarorspinitaroundyourbody,the strapcould become
disconnectedortheguitarcouldstrikeotherpeopleorobjects,causinganaccidentorinjury.
•Donotuseinextremelyhotlocations(suchasindirectsunlightornearheatingequipment),inlocationssubjectto
rain,moisture,humidity,wind,orvibration,orinverydustylocations.
•Donotputyourfaceneartheguitarwhileplaying.Abrokenstringcouldcauseinjuryifitstrikesthehandsorface,
orcouldcauseblindnessifitstrikestheeyes.Alwaystakeadequateprecautions.
•Aguitarstringcanbeverysharpwhenitiscut(particularlythe1st,2nd,and3rdstrings)andcouldcauseinjuryif
itistoucheddirectly.Whenwipingtheguitarheadwithacloth,takeparticularcarenottostrikeyourhandagainst
thewoundstringsasthiscouldcauseinjury.Whenreplacingthestrings,cutthestringsshortenoughsothatthe
leftoverportionofthestringsdonotstrikeyourngers.
•Keepreplacementpartsandbatteriesawayfromchildrenasthesecouldposeachokinghazard.
•The+(positive)and-(negative)contactsonthebatteryandcontactsonthecompartmentorsnapmustmatch.
Ifthebatteryisinstalled"backwards"(i.e.withreversedpolarity),theelectronicswillnotworkandthebatterywill
eventuallyoverheatwiththepossibilityofdamagetothebassandevenre.
•Whennotusingtheguitar,orwhennotconnectingtheguitartoaspeakeroramp,removetheguitarcablefrom
theoutputjack.Iftheguitarremainsinsertedintheoutputjack,thepreampremainsturnedonanddepletesthe
batteries.
•Toavoid malfunctionand faultyconnection, donottouchtheguitar’s internalpickup,preamp,battery box,or
connectors.
For customers who purchased an acoustic- electric guitar
Proper storage
•Acousticguitarsaremadelargelyofwood.Avoidenvironmentswithextremelyloworhightemperatures,humidity,
ordrasticenvironmentalchanges.Thesecouldcausetheguitartodeformorcrack.
•Be awareofhightemperaturesinthesummer.If theguitar isleft fora prolongedperiodin aparticular hot
environment,suchasbeingexposedtodirectsunlightwhile leftin acar,plastics,suchasthepreampcaseor
internalcircuitryorresinsusedintheguitar’spaint,coulddeform,malfunction,ordeteriorate.Paintedsurfacesare
particularsubjecttodiscolorationwhenexposedtodirectsunlight.
•Avoidplacingtheguitarnearames,andstoreitinastable,sturdylocationwhereitwillnottipoverorfall.
•If thesurface ofthe guitaris placeddirectlyonplasticsorfurnitureforaprolongedperiod, colortransfer or
adhesioncouldoccur.Toavoidthis,puttheguitarinacaseorbagwhenstoringit.
Cleaning
•Appropriatecleaningisanimportantwaytoensurethatyourguitarwillremainingoodconditionformanyyears.
Humidity,perspiration,andngeroils(ngerprints)that remainonthestringsormetalpartswillcauserust or
corrosion.Useaspeciallymadeguitarwipingclothtowipedownyourinstrumentimmediatelyafterplaying.
Guitarswith agloss finishshould belightlywipedusingaguitarwipingclothtreatedwithpolishformulated
specicallyforguitars,orusingasoftcottoncloth.Polyesterclothcanscratchthenish.
Adjusting the neck and saddle
•Neckadjustmentsrequirespecialtechniquesandtools,andarebestlefttorepairprofessionalsorspecialistsat
yourdealer.
•If theactionistoohighortooloweventhoughtheneckis adjustedcorrectly,itmaybe necessaryto adjust
thesaddle. Aswith theneck, adjustmentsto thesaddle requirespecial techniquesand tools,and shouldbe
performedbyrepairprofessionalsorspecialistsatyourdealer.
