6.4 Wheel removal
Front wheels
1. Chocktherearwheelsandremovethefrontwheelaxle
nut,usinga15/16"AFsocketspanner.
2. Raisethefrontofthemower.
3. Slidethewheelofftheaxle.
4. Replaceinreverseorderandtightentheaxlenut.
WARNING
Alwaysdeatethetyrebeforeremoving
rimnutsfromthefrontwheelrims.
Rear wheels
1. Chockthefrontwheelsandraisetherearofthemower.
2. Removethefourwheelrimnutsusinga9/16"AFsocket
spanner.
3. Slidetherearwheeloffthewheelhub.
4. Replacetherearwheeltothewheelhubandretainusing
thefourwheelnuts.
5. Tighten the wheel nuts and lower the mower to the
ground.
6.5 Rear hub removal
1. Removetherearwheelpersection6.4.(Rearwheels)
2. Removethecirclipfromtheendoftheaxleshaft
3. Removethethreegrubscrewsfromthehub.
4. Slidethehubofftheshaftwiththeaidofapuller.Never
useahammer.
6.6 Rear hub tment
1. Coattheaxleshaftwith‘Never‑Seize’compound
2. Placekeyinaxlekeywayandslidehubintopositionand
replace circlip.
3 Apply‘Loctite243’tothegrubscrewsandscrewtightly
intothehub.
4. Replacethefourwheelretaining
6.7 Hydrostatic unit removal
1. Place the ride‑on, on a level dry surface, apply the
parkingbrake,andremovetheignitionkey.
2. Removethetwocutterheadspringsandtowbariftted.
3. Removethefanfromthetopofthehydrostaticunit.
(3/4"A/F).
4. Removethebrakespringsformbrakelever,
5. RemovetheRclip’sfrombrakeanddriverodsatthe
hydrostaticunitanddisengagerods.
6. Removethebreatherhoseclipfromthechassis
7. Remove the four retaining bolts between the chassis
andHydrostaticunit(1/2"A/F).andremovethetwotab
washersandfastenersfrominfrontoftheforwardbolts.
8. Loosenthesupportbracketboltontheleftsideofthe
chassis(1/2"A/F).
9. Removethetwoboltsbetweenthehydrostaticunitand
supportbracket(1/2"A/F),
10.Remove the hydrostatic drive belt from around the
hydrostaticpulley.
11.Gentlyjackuptherearoftheride‑onoffthehydrostatic
unitandremove.
6.8 Hydrostatic unit tment
1. Withrearoftheride‑onraisedslidethehydrostaticunit
undertherearoftheride‑onchassis.
2. Lowertheride‑onaligningthechassismountingholes
withthehydrostaticunitmountingholes.
3. Fitthefourretainingboltsandnutsbetweenhydrostatic
unitandchassispositioningthehydrostaticunittothe
backoftheslots andwiththetwolongerboltsinthe
frontholes,theseengagethecutterheadsprings
4. Fitthetwotabwashersandfastenersforwardofthefront
hydrostaticunitboltsandtighten.
5. Fitthetwoboltsbetweenthehydrostaticunitandthe
support bracket and tighten, also tighten the support
brackettochassisbolt.
6. Fitthefantothetopofthehydrostaticunitandtighten
to60ft.lbs.
7. Ifthebrakespringhasbeendisturbedpositionitinthe
frontslotofthebrakerodlever.
8. Insertthebrakeanddriverodsintohydrostaticunitand
retainwithRclips.
9. Retcutterheadsprings
6.9 Drive rod neutral adjustment
1. Loosenthetwonutseithersideofthedriverodswivel
block.
2. Adjusttheactivationplateonthesideofthehydrostatic
unittothemidpointofitsslot.
3. Lockupthetwonutseithersideofthedriverodswivel
block.
4. Checkthatthebearingisreturningtothebottomofthe
V plate.
5. Ifthe bearing isnotreturningto thebottomoftheV
platecheckall rods andpivotpointsare free andnot
binding,Ifthebearingstillfailstoreturntothebottom
oftheVplate,checkthedamper.Thepistonshouldtake
3secondstotraveldownwith940gramsattachedtothe
endofit.
6. Test drive ride-on.
7. Iftheride‑oncreepsforwardadjustthetwonutseither
sideofthedriverodswivelblockanti‑clockwiseafew
turnsor clockwiseifride‑oncreepsbackwards,
6.10 Drive belt adjustment
Withuse,itmaybefoundthatthedrivebeltslips.Thisisdue
tobeltstretchandcanbeveriedbycheckingtheclutchrod
freeplaywhichisfactorysetat5mmwiththebrake/clutch
pedalintheOFFpositionandtheidlerpulleyatthestartof
itsadjustmentslot(righthandend).RefertoFigure6.4.
1. Placetheride‑ononadry,levelsurfaceandremovethe
ignition key.
2. Lowerthecutterhead.
3. Loosenthexedidlerpulleyfastenersandslidetheidler
pulleytowardsthecentreofthechassisvemillimetres,
tightenthefastenersandchecktheclutchrodfreeplay.If
theclutchrodfreeplayisincorrect,repeattheprocedure
andcheckagainRefertoFigure6.4a.
4. Aftertheadjustmentsarecarriedout,checkthatthexed
idlerpulleybeltguideissetat90
0
tothechassisside.
Oncetheidlerpulleyhasreacheditsfulladjustmentandit
isfoundthattheclutchrodfreeplayislessthan5mm,the
drive belt will havestretched beyondits useable service
limitandwillneedtobereplaced.

1. Lifttheseatandlocatethebrakeadjustmentrodon
therighthandsideoftheHydrostaticdrive.
2. Adjustthefrontnylocnuttogive1Ommclearance
tothehydrostaticbrakearmwhenpushedagainstits
forwardstop.
3. Adjusttherearnylocnuttogive5mmclearancetothe
brakearm.
4. Checkthattheparkbrakecanbeengaged.

lowcutsetting.
1. Place the ride‑on, on a level dry surface, apply the
parkingbrakeandremovetheignitionkey.
2. Movethecutheightengagementlevertothemidcutor
desiredcuttingheight.
3. Removethetwocutterheadsprings.
4. Loosenthefourcutterheadsupportbolts,allowingthe
cutterheadtoslidetothebottomoftheslots,andnipup
thefourbolts.
5. Raisethefrontrighthandsupportboltmidwayinit’s
slotandtighten.
6. Fitthetwocutterheadspringstothecutterdeck.
7. Measurethegapbetweenthebladetipandthegroundat
themidpointofthecutterheadononeside,thenrotate
thecutterdisk180°tomeasurethegapontheopposite
sideofthecutterhead,therebyusingthesamebladefor
measurement.
8. Ifitisfoundthatthecutterheadisnotlevelloosenoffthe
frontrighthandsupportboltandadjustaccordingly.
9. Repeatstep7andadjustifnecessary.
10.Tightenallbolts.
11.Itisalsopossibletoadjustthelevelbyindependently
adjustingthefourcutterheadsupportbolts.
6.13 Cutterhead Tilt
760mm cutterhead- 15mmfromfronttobackmeasured
overthetipsoftheblades.
